Staff, golf courses and food are great! The staff are like family to us. Golf courses are well cared for.

After a dozen more games here since my first Yelp review I'm disappointed and a little pissed about the unsatisfactory service and cooperation of the pro shop staff. Every encounter I have had with them is usually a unhappy experience. Universally among the many and various people I've met at the counter they are anywhere from disengaged, listless to outright surly. I just met with the guy at the counter to change a tee time due to unplayable rainy weather. My booked tee time is pre-paid. They refused to move the paid tee time to the next day even though there are available slots. This is bureaucratic, unwelcoming and self defeating for the golf course. I won't be spending anymore money here. There are dozen of other golf courses in this area. I'll patronize those instead. read more

Love this course. But $75 for an 11 am tee with aerated greens, fairways, and tee boxes is pushing it.

Had the most amazing Mothers Day Brunch today. Everything from the food, and service was magnificent! Our waiter 'Paul' was fantastic. He was so efficient, nice, waited on us like we've never been waited on before. If I owned a restaurant, I'd hire him . Because of him, we will be back and we will request him. I really enjoyed hanging out with my two sons and my daughters fiancé. This course has a lot to offer and the drive to the place was super enjoyable. Who could resist this deal!!! I came here because of an excellent deal extended to Sun City neighborhood - a coupon for "Prime Rib dinner 2-for-1 meal" for $12.95 offered only on Thurs nights. I thought the restaurant was only open to Sun City residents! The 10-oz steak was delicious and served with string beans and mashed potatoes. The meal included complimentary bread and a choice of soup or salad. There was quite a wait but when we were seated it was all worth it. A great little gem of a restaurant located next to the Timber Creek golf course at Del Webb's Sun City in Roseville. The golf course, as well as the dining and event facilities, are open to the public. Casual attire is typical for all meals. Beautiful interior, great service, and very reasonably priced, excellent quality food. Their breakfast buffet, very nicely presented, is only $4.95, available Mon-Sat until 10:30am. Sunday brunch is extremely popular, with unlimited Mimosa's. Desserts are every bit as good as the main courses. Lunch and dinner offers a nice selection of fish, chicken, and meat entrees, all well prepared and presented. If you want a change of pace and get away from the strip malls and shopping centers of Roseville, and want to dine in a relaxed atmosphere with views of the golf course, this restaurant won't disappoint. The elegant restored bar in the lounge was built in New York and brought by ship in the late 1800's to California and installed in the Auburn Opera House. The Opera House was long ago closed, with the bar being saved and eventually being sold, refurbished, and installed in the Timbers Lodge. The bar is well stocked with very reasonably priced drinks. The prime rib dinner special is probably their most popular weekly event. Visit the Timbers web site to view all of their latest offerings. So many country clubs allow only members to enjoy their dining facilities. We are fortunate that the Timbers is open to the public, and with such great prices for the value received. Played Timber Creek today checked in at 5:40 pm. Done at 8:45 great pace of play. Thanks to the pro shop staff for getting us out. Course played to 6480 yds from the back tees. Track meanders through the house's at Sun City. Fairways are in great shape. Greens a little bumpy but still had some pace to them. Front side is the easiest of the two. Most par 3 holes played 135 yards. Par fours played 320 to 466 yards. Hole 7 is 466 slight dogleg right play tee ball to right side of fairway to cut down distance of seconds shot. All in all fun course. If in the Roseville area give it a go. read more

Course is in excellent condition and is slightly challenging. It is a pretty flat course but has lots of water holes. Super lush fairways and greens make for a nice round of golf. Avoid the bloody beers... $10 bucks each! Yikes! The clubhouse/bar is super cool with a sunken bar. read more

Fairway, tee boxes & scenery are great. Front nine has houses on fairways. Back nine is beautiful, totally secluded. Peaceful, tranquil and really relaxing. This course flows. I'm a big fan of that. Not choppy. 6480 from the blacks. I recommend that you play this once or twice then play from the blacks for some good risk reward golf. My favorite course in the Roseville area. Greens always roll perfectly and are in great shape. Can be a little challenging. Waterfalls and great views everywhere. Pace of play has never been a problem for me here and the staff is very friendly . It is a little pricy but you can find a good deal if you look. They have a huge bar and restaurant area as well. read more

This place is the greatest. I had eaten in the restaurant several times when my mom was living there and always had great service...especially from Francisco. My mom passed away this year and I decided to have her Celebration of Life there. OMG it was so nice. Jenny the event planner was the best. She asked what my mom's favorite color was so all the accent colors were in that for linens. The food was the best...had compliment's as soon as people started to eat. I loved how they had the buffet set up when people arrived so they were able to eat as the service was going on. Issac and the others that were helping were great also. The cost was very reasonable for the quality of the food. I would highly recommend this place for either having dinner or a large event. read more

First time golfing here, the course is in great shape. We only played 9 holes but plan on being back to try the food and the enjoy the rest of the golfing. I did feel that 76 dollars for a shirt is a miss so I'll stay out of the pro shop. read more

I played the course as an out of town visitor. Do not ever play this course and expect to rent clubs from the course. I was charged $25 for a bag of six mismatched clubs that came from the lost and found barrel I must assume. It would be different if they were even a recognizable brand but alas no. The round's play was only enjoyable because of my foursome. Do not play here without your own club's. My request to be refunded the club rental was never even even considered. I hear they are in receivership so maybe this is the best they can muster. read more

So far I like the driving range here the most out of any others . It's grass. It's spacious . It's clean. It's quiet. It's beautiful. The prices are reasonable too. I have not played the course yet but I hope to soon play the 9 hole course. They also have 18 holes. As the weather is now hot in the afternoon the crowds thin out. They have a large practice putting green and chipping area. Everyone seems to be pretty mellow too. The grass is good place to get course ready. You can place the ball in different lie positions . OK, before anyone makes any wisecracks, yes, it is in Sun City Roseville and yes, it is on a golf course. However, don't be expecting soft boiled eggs, oatmeal and cream of wheat just because it's a retirement community. I was there with a bunch of people for a birthday brunch. They had a nice ante-room for our party. We had great service. The food was very good. I had the California Omelette. It was enormous and very tasty. Never-ending Mimosa's made the day. I will definitely try this place for a regular breakfast hangout as it's open to the public. read more

This is A very nice course. It plays tough, but it's fair. Many sand traps to get in trouble with , so be patient and hit it straight. Once you make it through your there's a great restaurant and bar. The food is enjoyable and the staff is friendly. The place is absolutely spotless. Over all it deserves a 4 read more

Back 9 is a five star, but front 9 is only a three star. Back 9 is Spectacular and surrounded by majestic oak trees. Front 9 is surrounded by homes for old people and each one basically looks the same (houses not the people) Getting food at the turn is a little slow. If you want something other than a hot dog or a pre-made sandwich, you need to call on the 7th hole instead of the 9th. I wish they would let me play the back 9 twice. read more

Wife bought a Groupon for this golf course to try something new for my father-in-law's birthday . We typically play Woodcreek, Whitney Oaks, or or Lincoln Hills. We never even got a chance to experience this course because the service to get a tee time was so horrendous. We spoke with "Jimmy" who hung up on my wife after his response "Don't know what to tell ya". Let's back up. We have been calling for over a week to set a tee time and have been repeatedly told that tee times can't be booked until 7 days out from the date you'd like. Just to keep checking, my wife has called several times. This morning when we called, Jimmy informed us that there is a tournament on that day and they aren't taking tee times at all that day. When my wife inquired why no one had informed her of this when we had called previously, Jimmy said "Don't know what to tell ya" and then hung up the phone. Needless to say, I promptly called him back and explained that only piss-poor service people and assholes hang up on customers. We won't be giving this golf course our business, and have since spent $300+ on tee times at Lincoln Hills for that day. read more

Timbers has attentive and genuinely friendly service at brunch. The server greeted us with a bottle of champagne (free glass with your meal). She even divided our bill amongst couples without even asking...so above and beyond! This place could easily be four stars if the food had a bit more "personality". Timber Creek Golf Course is a great place to play, and learn. I have been living across the street from Timber Creek for the last three years, and have driven by on numerous occasions. I honestly thought this was just a golf course for "older" adults 55+. Was I ever wrong, yes their are seniors. But they are pretty dang funny, and super fun to play with. The course is actually very fun, it can be very difficult at times. And very easy. This place has one of the best training facilities in Northern California, they have a huge driving range, putting greens, chipping areas, and multiple sand traps. They also offer one of the only 3 day golf academys I know of locally, which includes instruction, lunch and free golf. And the Director Mark Gouger is a great coach who genually loves what he does. I speak from experiance, I attended this academy last June and well let's just say I have tried classes before and never enjoyed them because I felt like I was just a number to them. When I came to Timber Creek I honestly felt like they would have taught me for free, and in addition my handicap has continued to drop! read more

I've eaten here several times over the years and there is always something lacking. My most recent visit was this week and this time it was the service. Our waitress took almost 30 minutes to come over and take our order, and by the time all of our food had been delivered (because for some reason they didn't bring it all out at once), another 30 minutes had passed. There were two of us and we each ordered a salad, nothing fancy, no reason why it should take so long. Getting the check took even longer... all together we were there 2 1/2 hours for a simple lunch. OK my mom lives in Sun City, and I'm not sure I would have gone to this restaurant otherwise - but it is really a pleasant surprise. And I've gone back several times. My understanding is that the manager is relatively new, and has made some much needed changes to the menu. The menu has a pretty broad range, and doesn't try to get too ambitious - but delivers what it promises. And at a reasonable price. I've had brunch, lunch and dinner there - and haven't been disappointed by any meal. The pricing is intended to make it an attractive place for residents to come to on a regular basis, but it's open to anyone. I think it's an underrated asset to Roseville's crowded (and sometimes overpriced) dining scene. read more

I had a poor experience here on June 17, 2014. I ordered the spaghetti, shrimp and sausage and received rigatoni, shrimp so small you could put in your eye, kielbasa sausage. Furthermore, the dish was so spicey-hot I could not eat it. I sent the dish back and opted for the linguini and clams. The dish came with a generous portion of fresh clams; however, the sauce was extremely bland and tasteless. Furthermore, the chef topped the dish with raw onions which gave the dish a sharp onion taste. The rest of my party had similar unsatisfactory complaints.
