Timber is hands down my favorite restaurant in Johnson City right now for fancy dinners! It's a tapas-style spot, so make sure to go with people who love to share--it's the best way to experience their amazing food. I went with my girlfriends from medical school, and we ordered about 10 dishes to share. Every single one was so well-curated and absolutely delicious. The variety of cuisines in one meal is such a unique and impressive experience. What's even better is their rotating menu that changes with the seasons, which means there's always something new to try. I'm already planning to go back every couple of months to see what's next. Timber is totally worth the money, and I can't recommend it enough!

Hit after hit with this menu. This is the a very culinarily creative menu, especially for the area, and it paid off. This restaurant is like a mix of appalachia, middle eastern cuisine, and european techniques. The corn dogs were good, but not the table's favorite. Everyone raved the fresh ricotta with the roasted currants and pine nuts on fresh bread. The mushroom terrine was my mom's favorite dish of the night. The beef keema curry was delicious and a perfectly hearty winter meal. I loved the lamb hand pie, and the puff pastry was perfect and the filling had lovely warm spices. The beef tartare was different from what you may expect, but it was really good when you had a bite of everything, especially the sourdough chips. The ambiance could be best described as a hipster hunting lounge. It felt clean, the chairs were comfortable. Our server was really sweet and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. I look forward to coming back and seeing what's new!

This place is very good but you really have to be adventurous in trying new things. Unique mix of tastes in flavors in a variety of different formats. We went as a group of 6 or 7 of us and ordered 1 of almost everything on the menu kind of ale carte. All of it was great even things I wouldn't normally want to eat like corn for example.Wine list was pretty decent as well. Reason for my four is when looking at what I would order as a meal on my own, I'd really struggle. Not your common menu items. Nonetheless, I'd recommend this place for a nice affordable fine dining experience.

We had some appetizers and drinks! We enjoyed every bite

Food was great and drinks too. Would recommend to share some plates so you can try most of their menu

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES with whipped goat cheese, honey, thyme

Timber! is a good restaurant, with interesting (good) flavors, good service and a relaxing ambiance. The food and drink options are unique and creative, and the menu is diverse. They offer small plates (appetizers), medium plates (shareable/tapas) and large plates (entrees). Their presentation for all plates is really good. We ordered a couple of specialty cocktails to start, and they were good. We ordered a couple of small plates to share. The fried green tomatoes were really good, especially with the combination of honey and goat cheese (9/10). The corn ribs were also really good. The Cajun dry rub and cumin crema were a nice flavor profile, but I think I liked even better rubbing it in the honey and goat cheese from the green tomatoes plate. Overall, I rate the corn ribs an 8/10. We followed that with a couple of medium plates to share. The lamb meatballs were good, but we would probably try something different next time (7/10). The 4-pepper fried quail was very tasty - really liked the flavor. The only negative I can say is that the fried batter was a little thick. I'd rate the quail an 8/10. For desert, we tried the rotating local ice cream, which as strawberry. It was really good (9/10) Overall, we enjoyed our meal and our experience. We will visit again in the future.

Plum gazpacho. I love all gazpacho-but This one was definitely on the short list of best gazpacho!

Jonah was an excellent server, had great suggestions. We had plum gazpacho (excellent!!) split a burger (again-excellent smash burger). Had pH14 drink, very good suggestion from Jonah. Tuesday night visit, we got in right when it opened at 5pm. By the time we left, it was packed-for good reason. We will definitely be back.

Delicious food. Server was nice and walked us through the menu. Parties of 7 or more are required to be on one check and a 20% large party service fee is added to the final bill. They have small, medium, and large plates. Environment was rustic casual.

After tonight's trip to Timber! This place is on top of my list. I love that the menu changes weekly or monthly, yet not entirely so you can have something you enjoyed previously. The bartender is awesome, very skilled at what he does! So many great drinks and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes, buffalo cauliflower, & mushroom tartine. Everything was great so you can't go wrong! Our server Malachi was so personable and went above and beyond to provide us with great service. The atmosphere is always such a vibe, check them out!

We had a great experience! We made reservations and got there about 10 minutes early - they had the table ready for us which was really nice. They give a bottle of water for the table - always a win in my book. Service was fabulous! We ordered lamb meatballs, brussel sprouts, and the burger with fries. Plus dirt! The food was fabulous and quick. The atmosphere was cozy. There was a large group seated around the fire, the tables are nicely spaced. Would absolutely go back if we are in town.

I'm honestly surprised it doesn't have a full five-star rating. The food is excellent--creative, high-quality gastropub fare that's easily some of the best we've had in the area. As newcomers, one of the biggest adjustments has been finding great restaurants, and Label has definitely filled that gap. We had a large group, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. Everyone's meal came out great, and not a single person left disappointed. To top it all off, the desserts were phenomenal and the perfect ending to a great meal. If you're looking for one of the best dining experiences in Johnson City, Label is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back!

The lady told me she didn't have change, and when I pulled out some coins, I assumed she meant she didn't have change in coins. I ended up giving her cash and change, and she said thank you. I then asked, "Can I get my change back?" because I was supposed to receive about $5 back. Apparently, she had assumed I was giving her a $5 tip on a $15 takeout order. To be clear, I was not. I understand tipping when someone is providing a service, but this was a takeout order--I walked in, picked up my food, and left. There was no table service or anything beyond handing me my order. She did have to go to the back to get my change and brought it back to me in $1 bills. The whole situation was just awkward and frustrating. Between the extremely small portion and the confusion over my change, I honestly wasn't impressed with the experience.

They do have an inside dining area, but the host didn't give us that option. Our waitress was nice but wasn't very knowledgeable about the food; I asked her if the shrimp poboy came on hard or soft bread. She said soft so I ordered that. It was toasted to the point of being rock hard; actually cut my lip on it. Otherwise the poboy was pretty good, just hard to eat. The wife enjoyed her burger, but it wasn't anything special. And neither of us cared much for their side of chips; it's clearly their attempt to be different by not serving the usual French fries. But in our opinions, it's a fail. They were neither a tasty potato chip nor a fry, but something in between, that even ketchup couldn't make tasty. Interesting place to visit once, but I doubt we'll be back.
