If i could rate this less i would. Unless you are a seasonal camper expect to be treated horribly. Stayed overnight on the weekend on Friday it was fine nice and quiet. Saturday morning the seasonal campers showed up in the RV next to our site. They then proceed to walk thru our site, and then after asking then to please stop I was meet with anger and rage from the group. At one point while my 7-yr old daughter was in the tent the group threatened to "run over the tent" with their truck. My daughter overheard this and became extremely scared fearing for herself and her father's safety. I then went to the office and explained about being threatened and not only did they know who they were, they called them on a Walkie talkie right from the office to the group. As you can guess, they sided with their friends that stay every week right next to the main shelter, we were in the site next to them on the lake. So then at 7Pm at night I packed up everything and left with no refund. I had to fight with the credit card company to get my money back. BE WARNED IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF THE OWNERS GROUP AND DO NOT ALIGN WITH THEIR VIEWS YOU BE TREATED AS A SECOND-CLASS PERSON, HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMEND!! This was in JUNE of 2024 and I still think about it to this day!! I don't want anyone to have to experience what my daughter went thru. read more

A great family campground. Safe place for the kids with loads of activities. DJ on the weekend, Bingo, boats on the lake, pool, hayrides. Halloween celebrated all October long with trick or treating, pumpkin hunts, and a fantastic terror trail. Always a fun time. read more

So this was our first time ever camping outside in a site and we were excited to try this campsite out unfortunately it wasn't what we expected, first off alot of the sites seemed to close to each other, not much space between them fortunately we were secluded enough because no one rented out the site next to us, the site itself was not clean, there was alot of broken glass, beer cans and bottles, we had no fire ring so I had to grab the one from the site next to us, the bathrooms/showers were not updated and not very clean but usable, we noticed alot of what seemed to be permanent RV's and not well kepted ones, the service was hit or miss, some people were nice while others were obviously not happy and had attitudes, the playground swings/slides were dirty and not well kepted, the only saving grace was Dawn or grandma dawn which the regulars call her, she was absolutely great/kind/patient and helpful, I would consider coming back just because of her and her hospitality, on the positive note they do have some good activities, when we were there the had their version of bingo but with candy bars and a spring craft fair which was nice, over all it was an ok spot but not sure if I would return. read more

We were traveling across the country from California and stayed at a lot of campgrounds but this was probably the filthiest campground we've ever stayed at. The men's bathroom had two toilets full of toilet paper and poop. The floors in both bathrooms were covered with dirt. We were afraid to use them. Even though the dumpsters were outside of the campground there were several of them and they were overflowing with trash and flies so much that none of the lids were closed. The grounds were beautiful but sanitation wise, this campground is sorely lacking. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights, the campground is nice if you don't stay by the tent area. Staff was nice enough. Bathrooms were fine. The big problem with this place? The MULTIPLE Confederate flags hanging all over the place. Very uncomfortable to see and be around. Gives the grounds a very hostile feeling. read more

This is a great place to go camping with your family or with a group of friends. I've been here three times over the past few years and have had a great experience on every trip. Timberland Lake has a spacious swimming pool, mini golf, an outdoor pool table, and a small arcade in the back of the campsite general store. Other activities such as fishing, row boating and paddle boating are all available right there in the large lake that rests in the center of it all. The water is serene and inviting, surrounded by a variety of tall trees. And each week they have different events going on and wagon rides for the kids. The people who stay here are usually very friendly and often say hello as they pass by. As someone from New York City, I'm not used to that but really like it and appreciate it. Everything you need off site is pretty close by too. There is a good beer distributor about 5 minutes away and a little further down, about 8 miles is the Stop and Shop supermarket. And if you are up for some shopping on a rainy day, the outlets nearby are pretty good. The bathrooms could be a little cleaner but I do realize that they won't be spotless since it's surrounded by the woods. I've been told they clean the bathrooms a few times a day but often, the showers have dirt on the floor. My suggestion is, make sure you bring flip-flops with you to shower and try to go early before the bathrooms get used and messy. I personally like coming here during the week because it is very quiet and there aren't too many kids in the pool. The weekends are much busier but it is still a great time. read more

This place was great! We were a group of 4 adults, age 23 to 29. Two coming from Philadelphia and two from Upstate NY. We even got a discount for it being our first time! Total was less than $100 for 2 nights. We got there quite late the first night but had no trouble checking in and setting up our site, thanks to the owners staying up late to greet us! The dirt road is a little rough but what else would you expect in the woods. The site was a great space, we were able to have 2 tents off to the side of the picnic table and fire pit, and park 2 cars in the space. I usually don't have high expectations for the facilities at campgrounds. I saw some former reviews that Timberland Lake is dirty and the bathrooms are never cleaned. However, I found this quite untrue! This may be the cleanest camping bathroom I have ever seen. Hardly any bugs (which terrifies me), clean stalls, new white paint, and good pressure and temperature in the shower. I also always seemed to have the bathroom to myself, although I could hear the men next-door through the walls. Our site neighbor was a resident, who was incredibly friendly to us! I guess some people may be turned off by residents, but I think it gives the whole campsite a very cute, eclectic and peaceful feel. Many of them have christmas lights or fountains that are so impressive, and beautiful! We didn't need anything from the camp store but decided to check it out. I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of stuff they have there. You could seriously find anything you could ever need. They even had hammocks in a bag! For families, there was live entertainment one night we were there and it looked quite popular. The lake was beautiful but we did not have time to utilize the boats or anything. All in all, I would definitely stay here again, and am excited to make another trip down. read more

We stayed here with friends over Labor Day weekend, I can't say that we were disappointed but we weren't really happy either. When we checked in the girl at the front desk wasn't unfriendly, but she also offered no hospitality whatsoever. Our site was very close to the office/pool area and right across from a group of about 30 tenters with lots of dogs. The first night wasn't too bad, but the second and third nights the dogs were constantly barking and there were people driving by with carts, cars and motorcycles all night. (Not much sleep). The pool looked big and clean, although we didn't use it. The bathrooms were clean but in need of a little updating. There were some positives, the site was level and easy to get into, the place is VERY close to Six Flags. We may go back, but will seek other campgrounds in the area to check out first. read more

We had a great time. It was Halloween at the campground. They had crafts, costume contest, trick or treating, hayrides and a haunted trial. We had a great time and people who stay there are very nice. I would have liked more direction since it was our first time there. they opened the front gate and never instructed us were to go. Lucky we found nice people who pointed us in the right direction. Then when I went to register the woman was not very personable. I will say the next day when I went to the camp store the employee working then was a pleasure. The woman in charge of the activities is great she is great with the kids. I would recommend this campground to friends and will be back. read more

The person that took our reservation was very pleasant. The campground has a sign on the main road which tells you to drive on a road that is marked with a weight limit. Unusual the campground would be placed on a road that would eliminate most 5th wheels and anything that has an engine from being able to use the road. We re-routed to stay off that road which added about 30 minutes to the trip and included a mile or two of a soft sand road and a very difficult sharp left turn into the campground driveway. The first thing we see on the property is the unkept mess at the dumpsters. Trash and broken items strewn about. On the way to the store we passed a small animal area which looked very run down and maybe a bit unsafe for the couple of animals that were in there. We stopped at the store to check in. The store was very stocked with all sorts of stuff. The person that checked us in was very friendly. We originally made reservations for 3 adults. We ended up with 4 adults. At check in we let them know about the change so they can adjust the fees. They orginally marked our reservation for 6 adults, which added to our fees, strange, but ok, it was corrected. The site almost flat but was without any shade, unfortunately it was 95 degrees all week. The utilities were good with no problems. There was couple of concrete covers in the ground in our site with metal loops sticking up that were tripping hazards. There was liquor bottle on one with electrical wires and an outlet on the ground. We didn't spend much time during the day at the campground. We came in late one evening and used the passcode to open the gate which we had trouble doing. We used the intercom to call the office to see what the issue was and a lady answered, who was at first pleasant, then was nasty. "Hello we are having trouble with the code. It does not seem to be working." "Are you checking in?" "No" "Then use the code to open the gate " " We have but it does not seem to work" "I will open the gate but you better have your pass on the mirror or we will charge you double" Click. We went to the pool. It was not the Olympic pool listed on the website but looked nice. We checked in and were told we will need to take our shirts off to get in the pool. We told the lady who had the same nasty tone as the intercom lady. We told her sunburns are an issue for a couple of usand we need to leave the cotton shirts on. She nastily said it is not her problem, the health dept made the rule. We counted 8 people in the pool with cotton shirts on plus an entire family with just regular street clothes on. She didnt care. We called the health dept to let know about the the policy 'enforcement'. The water had a weird texture to it. We walked around and noted how overgrown and rundown the grounds were. Many of the seasonals looked like they have not been occupied in a while. The bath house was not clean, we didn't want to touch any surface. Cross this one off the list read more

The pond is a swamp, most of the activities are broken, the paddle boats are listing in the water, they have rusted equipment everywhere, ruts and potholes on every road, we had over 20 ant hill at our site, trash across our site (beer bottle, old fireworks, duct tape, 2 candy wrappers and plastic knife/forks), the showers and bathrooms are disgusting and our sites was crazy un-level, I had to buy a second pack of leveling pads!!!! I also saw a site with 4 cinder blocks at the front and the back touching the ground. Lastly the security gate is a joke, you just say, hey I want in and they let anyone in, not sure why they even have a gate. With that said, the site does have positives. 1) VERY friendly staff 2) Large, clean pool 3) Very close to Six Flags 4) Nice fishing 5) Basketball hoops If you understand what you are getting yourself into, you will have a better time, but don't believe the website on all the activities or the OLD pictures showing what the place looked like 5-10 years ago. read more

My family just stayed here for 3 nights 6/28-6/30. We found out about it from our son who is a Marine at the local base and thought it would be a nice way to camp, see him, and take the other kids to Great Adventure. The weekend was outstanding! The campground is on the rustic side with the modern amenities. Very clean sites and grounds, very nice pool area, well stocked camp store, and a friendly atmosphere from campers and staff! Only a few minutes from Great Adventure and not a long ride to the Seaside Heights boardwalk. We had a great time and will definitely be back. It's now on our list of go-to campgrounds! read more

We stayed here in August 2015 and enjoyed it. The sites were a decent size with a dock right on it! The docks could have been a little bit more sturdy, but you get what you get. The ground was extremely dusty/gritty, so expect to be sweeping a lot or do a thorough cleaning when you get home. They had a ton of activities all day. The pool looked nice and clean, although we did not go in. The numerous playgrounds were a big hit with our daughter. They are dog friendly. read more

Worst service ever. Came in with my 3 kids and when i went to my camp site there were people in my camp site. There was animal droppings everywhere and the parks for kids were filthy. Bathrooms were a mess. When i went to the office they gave me such a hard time and told me that i had to leave after i had already paid! At first they said they would not refund me. But after i told them i would take it to court they gave me my refund. Sad about the whole thing was that my kids were so excited and were devastated when i told them we had to leave. Well if your a free loader that likes to work off something you can't afford this is the place for you. All the so called employees get treated like gold. They can do no wrong. They brake all the rules from speeding in there cars or campground vehicles to letting there young children fly around in the campgrounds rental carts. If you are a paying customer the owners will nit pick everything you do. It's really a joke how this place is run. RULES ARE RULES EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE TO FOLLOW THEM. If you keep to you self and don't brown nose the owner your instantly considered an outsider and anything you do they will have something to say. Great amenities and activities but don't believe all the smiles in your face. Just wish people could be genuine. We will not be returning next year. Sad to say cause all the campers are so great and the place is beautiful. The camp ground needs to crack down on there own employees and stop harassing there paying customers. read more

My friends and I stayed here. It was awful. The location of the sites we had is what saved the trip, they were very secluded from the rest of the campers. There must be no rules at this campground because we could hear other campers all night long blasting music and screaming like they were really drunk, luckily I was so tired I was able to fall asleep at night. Our sites had broken glass literally all over, we had to go over our site and pick as much up as possible so that our tent and feet wouldn't get cut. The sites were also very unlevel, we couldn't use half our tent because the downhill was so terrible. The trash bins to dump your trash was outside the campground and were overflowing with trash. Stray cats were everywhere! including their poop! we had three piles of poop on our site and the morning we were packing up there was a fresh pile right outside one of our tents and while we were eating dinner the stray cats kept circling our area waiting for us to go to bed. The roads in the campground are littered with potholes and huge puddles. The mosquitoes are really bad. The bathrooms werent too bad.. it was hit or miss, sometimes there would be poop on every toilet or the next day the toilets were clean. Oh! dont forget that every day between 10am and 1pm a guy goes around to all the RVs to drain their sewer waste so forget trying to eat lunch because the smell was so awful, we were all gagging. read more

If possible I would give this campgrounds no stars. A tree fell on my son and he left by ambulance ! The owners were no where to he found or at least did not identify themselves at any point . No employees came after I left in ambulance with my son to ask husband if he needed help packing or with our other child. Obviously they do not have a policy for checking the trees or for emergencies . Please stay safe and do not stay there! read more

This was the first time that we have come to this Campground. At one time maybe by previous owners it was in great shape and was a beautiful Campground. It looks to me that people live here or rent their Lots by the Year by the stuff that's on them. First thing we were disappointed was the road leading into the campground is an old dirt road and the signs are not too clear and it almost looks like a one way if another vehicle was to come your way I don't know who would move first and if you have a camper you cannot backup. We have a 38-foot fifth wheel so it would not have been easy. I think there's a lot of maintenance issues.. Our lot which is very small the grass was not even cut we cannot sit outside on our picnic table due to the high grass. The only reason we ended up here was we are picking people up at the airport at JFK. If this had been a nice Campground it probably would have been on our list but I actually if I could have gave this a zero I would have.... the pictures are very deceiving on the website. There's a lot of places for kids the pool is big and that's probably the best feature I've seen. I just hope when we check out of here going up the hill of the dirt road that there's not another camper coming our way. read more
