Outstanding performance by this team. The site Manager, Alex was fast to respond to my inquiry, provided, a competitive estimate, and supervised the entire operation on site. This was a big job involving the removal of around 20 huge, tall pine trees, surrounding my residence and my neighbor's residence in an efficient and professional manner without mishap of any kind. The effort required great skill on the part of workers to avoid damage to the residences and involves the use of a large crane to remove some of the trees. I called Timberland expert tree service They came out that day and gave me an estimate. Then two days after I called them They came out to do the job. Very professional. Went over what we were doing again. Once they got here they did exactly what Alex told me. They used ropes around the tree so the branches would not go into my neighbor's yard. They cut down branches and half the tree which, now I can have more sun in my backyard. Also removed two smaller trees that were ruining my grass. So very excited about the job that they have done and I would refer them. I would definitely use them again. read more

Excellent!!! I would definitely use these guys again!! I received a quote from Alex that was the most reasonable and affordable compared to other companies that I called. They took extra care not to damage my lawn. I expected to have some damage done due equipment, falling branches or dragging but there were none that I can visibly tell. Timberline Expert Tree were wonderful and first rate. They did an amazing job from start to finish! I had 2 large oak trees very close to my house that I was afraid would eventually fall on it and needed to come down. Large branches had already a few times in the past. We had a couple of quotes from other companies for the removal but Dean is the only one who saw the importance of what I was asking, explained the process to me from start to finish and gave me a very fair estimate in writing with everything broken down with cost. His crew were on time, very professional and their clean up job after the removal was outstanding. There is a platitude that when it comes to quality, service, and price you can only ever get 2 out of three. e.g. you can get something good and fast but it will be expensive. Most of the time this holds true. I only give five stars to businesses that beat this truism. Dean and his crew were responsive and communicative. Dean came out to quote my job very soon after I called him. He even called to tell me that he was going to be just five minutes late for our appointment, much appreciated. Dean was very informative and helpful in assessing our trees and determining the best course of action. You can tell he's got a ton of experience and knowledge. He told me when he had another job in our area and offered to "save [me] a few bucks" if he could do our trees at the same time. He quoted a fair price which included cleanup and removal of the logs. They took out two diseased trees in our back yard. They removed all the debris, left our yard clean, and left minimal stumps. (They cut the smaller stump so low it's hidden under the pine straw) Definitely an above average job. Highly recommended. read more

I talked with Dean several times on the phone, he sent out Crystal to take pictures and a video of the two trees I needed removed, one came down during the storm. Dean then returned my call and said he needed to come out and take a look. He was scheduled to come out but never showed up, I have texted him several time with no response, it has now been over two weeks and I have moved on, just left me hanging. Dean and his crew were the first to call us back after a tree fell on our house after Hurricane Zeta. We had called about 4-5 tree companies, and we started getting worried that we would have to live with the tree on our roof for a couple of weeks. We were so grateful to Timberline! It took 4 hours. Dean and his crew did an outstanding job for us. We had a huge tree go down across our yard and our neighbor's, taking many trees with it and entangling itself in our fence. All during hurricane Irma, so we were certainly not the only ones in need. As promised he removed the tree, several of our neighbor's and cleaned all of the debris in an extremely timely fashion. The root was so large it required a special grinder which could only be done after everything else has been removed. Again, just as he promised he brought the equipment in and did everything we expected. The whole process took several weeks but he never left us hanging, we always had a timeline and he kept us informed about what was next. Highly recommend. read more

Dean has worked wonders at my house two times. I called to him after getting several other estimates. His estimate was the lowest, by far. Nor does it mean shoddy customer service because he has good pricing. He is great. Calls to confirm schedules. He and his crew are punctual and he will work with you on a variety of levels to get the job right. I cannot recommend his company highly enough. We even had a neighbor that claimed he had a "friend" in the industry. Dean and his team beat their price, so he did our neighbor's yard too. If you've ever stumbled upon a lumberjack show on Discovery Channel, you know that some people can use a chainsaw like an artist uses a paintbrush. Dean Gates and his crew are the best in this business, hands down. When one of our large hickory trees was damaged by lightning, we decided to thin out several trees on the property at the same time we were having the hickory removed. I got 3 quotes and Timberline Expert Tree Service was the most competitive. I also received great references from Dean's customers. Dean knew exactly which trees to thin and which to leave behind, and our back yard has never looked better. The large hickory tree that was struck by lightning was right beside our driveway and a busy street. The crew got the top removed using a bucket truck and then laid it exactly where they wanted. No damage to the yard, no mess left behind. I would recommend Timberline Expert Tree Service to anybody who needs trees removed. read more

Timberline came to the house and quoted us for the work and clearing the brush that was present. We agreed and they left to come back with a crew tomorrow. We had other people working in the backyard that day continuing to clear brush. When they arrived the next day they said the additional brush would be extra. That was understandable and we agreed to pay. They proceeded to cut down the large main tree and a smaller tree near it. They were quick and skilled. We left as we had another commitment to attend to and returned to find our front yard have large tree trunk pieces on our development's public sidewalk. Timberline said it would be OK and that they would return the next day to pick up the trunk pieces. To our surprise we came the backyard and found the stumps of the tree still prominently there, even though they agreed to grind them down. We called Timberline and asked them to return to grind the stumps. However, the next day they returned to take the large tree trunks from our front sidewalk and left without grinding the stumps. Even in taking the large tree trunks they didn't sweep the extra bark and smaller debris all over the sidewalk and in front of our house. We had to go out there ourselves and sweep away the pieces of debris ourselves. Overall, they did a good job cutting down the main tree, but we were unhappy with the incomplete job and lack of courtesy to clean up the debris. We found another tree professional to grind both stumps down as we expected. Would not use or recommend Timberline again. read more

Would not recommend using, cost me more to recover from damages. Paid to have 6 trees removed, they ruined my back yard and lawn. Also cracked/chipped the concrete in my drive way. They tried to repair it but it ended up looking like a child did the work and it cracked again. When I asked them what could be done, was basically told they tried to fix as a courtesy because it was a new home & driveway, but no obligation to do so. Net is, I was "on my own". I reluctantly paid the bill. Would not refer or recommend them to anyone.... read more
