We did not partake of the complementary breakfast as we had other arrangements. The king suite was extremely comfortable and very clean. The only thing was the shower left something to be desired. While I think Tru was intended for young travelers, I feel Tru suites me in my early 60s. I very much liked the complimentary breakfast better than what is served at a Hampton Inn. I liked the pancake machine over the waffle maker. The Lavazza coffee was a welcome feature too. The rooms are a bit smaller, but still comfortably fit a king-sized bed. There is a small refrigerator, but no microwave. Exposed rods, pipes, and pegs replaced dressers and armoires. The shower was full glass with TWO glass corner shelves, so for a change I didn't have to store my toiletries on the floor or bend over to pick up them up. I paid $62 per night here, booking through Expedia. For that price, the rooms are very nice. They're clean, modern, and vibrant. The breakfast here has a waffle maker so that was quite a nice surprise. The lobby also serves free coffee. My criticism is that the beds could have been better. Gaylord also does not have much to do, and it's just an exit off of I-75. If you want to save money going up north, this is a good place to stay if you don't mind driving a little bit.
