Fabulous respite! Visiting a friend and we chose to spoil ourselves with a spa day. Plenty of free parking in dedicated resort lot and then make your way to spa. You'll have all day privileges and it's quite beautiful. Downstairs for quiet contemplation and upstairs for treatments. There are also fitness classes, workout equipment, an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs. The spa and our facial treatments were well worth it. Thereafter, chose to dine and walk the resort's grounds. The family and I always have a blast at Boyne! All 4 seasons there's something fun for everyone. We like to stay in the main lodge for ease of access to the spa and Everett's as well as the water park. We met some pretty cool people who work at Everett's, Jeff and Tracey. She's usually behind the bar and he's waiting tables. Some of the best service we've ever had. We became friends with them after one weekend there. All the food is decent. My Boyne Vacation has put me in that I love everything mood. It's hard to love everything but when I'm at Boyne away from life's everyday stresses it's easy to let the Boyne resort wash over you and let the relaxation and activities begin. The staff here has stolen my heart and I love the way they love me. They went over and above to present the right atmosphere here and the service was top shelf. The rooms are large and very well designed. Plenty of room to relax and take in the up north environment. Views from the room are breathtaking and the fireplace in the room was a nice touch. The hotel has a nice restaurant and the food is made with love. The lodge sitting area with huge fireplace is a great place to relax and read or have a cup of coffee. Activities are always planned and lawn games are setup all over the grounds to enjoy. The s'mores by the fire pit and bar area was a nice touch. Golfing, skiing, sledding, bicycling, hiking, zip lining or walking through the woods is just a taste of what this resort vacation has to offer. I began working with Kari Shop, the bridal coordinator at Boyne Mountain Spa. She made sure the salon would be able to accommodate my 8 bridesmaids and the 3 mother's I had apart of the bridal party. I only have preview photos right now.. but hope to have more to share soon! Kari was extremely helpful from the beginning - helping me block out times for each woman and making suggestions along the way. Dawn had done my hair and I couldn't have been any happier with the way it turned out. I showed her a picture and she knew exactly what to do.. she asked for my feedback along the way making me feel comfortable. Hannah had done my makeup, and I have NEVER had my makeup professionally done. Same thing - I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she gave me what I wanted and more. For $1,000/night for a 3 room suite, you get: -Good location with respect to the slopes. -Good size rooms -Good atmosphere on the ski slopes and around. Now Bad!!! -Practically no WIFI in the suite (tried to asked for help with it, but no improvement). WIFI, totally unusable. This is the first hotel in the States, no matter how cheap or expensive, where I had virtually no WIFI for my laptop and some other devices. Again. $1,000/night!!! -One room without a single window!?!?! Pitch black when lights are off :-) -Bathroom with doors that can't be locked. Lock was broken (again, tried to ask if it can be fixed, but a not very polite young man told me "they cannot help me with that"). -A bathroom where lights turn off in the middle of one taking the shower (or any other "activity". Not worth a grand pet night, considering that the slopes are more of a hill then a mountain. read more

We drove six hours each way to northern Michigan - for the kids (damnit, there's an airport in Traverse City, I find out now). The Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa is better known for its secret weapon: the 88,000 square foot water park, Avalanche Bay. Otherwise, no deal. I mean, I enjoy a nice drive through a rustic area with snow caps and lush forest, but the husband and I could have had a small-scale mutiny without the water slides. The rooms were great. The building is less than three years old, so the mattresses and pillows are plenty fluffy. Our bathroom had a giant tub and granite counter tops, hairdryer, comfy bathrobes; the kitchenette was stocked with dishes and glasses, microwave - all the stuff to make a trip with children low maintenance. The waterpark was great - huge, in fact. And attached to the resort. We noticed that the lifeguards were numerous and quite attentive. We ate at two of the restaurants - Everette's, inside the main resort building, was terrific. Fall-off-the-bone delicious ribs for the husband, fettuccine with pesto sauce for me, excellent salads, good baked brie. The chef seemed to favor good ingredients and basic recipes over inventiveness, which was just fine in this case. We also had a great breakfast there this morning before we left. The other place was a bar and grill called Piersons. The service was good, food was just ok. Lousy burgers... And don't even bother with the pizza from the Trophy Room. Ugh. I had a great workout in the fitness center last night. All the equipment was shiny new and high-end. Sadly, we didn't get to ski, but the skiing was reportedly pretty good even at this time of year and at our relatively low elevation. The longest run was about 0.4 miles, but for the midwest, you can't complain. In summary, if you have children and are tired of Lake Geneva and the Wisconsin Dells, give this place a try. read more

This experience was just OK for me. We arrived at 4pm and our room was not ready (granted check-in is 5pm...which is ridiculously late...but I've never had an issue with early arrival in my life). Waited in line 30 minutes to "check in," then another 20 minutes to pick up our keys after they called to tell me our room was ready. The staff seemed rude and unhelpful, consistently indifferent to my inconveniences. The water park was fun for the kids, but the cleanliness in and around the locker rooms was definitely below what I would expect at a Boyne resort. The room was not cleaned well -- old coffee filter in the coffee pot, trash on the ledge overlooking the living room, overall just dirty. The wi-if is almost nonexistent. Devices do not stay connected. Overall, I paid $800/night for the experience of an economy hotel. Would not recommend spending your own money to stay here. read more

Family went to Boyne for the weekend, bought the ski and stay package for over $700 a night at the Grand Lodge...so spent about $2000 for the weekend in total. We were expecting a great experience. Our roll away bed had a huge dip in the middle, we got into the room late after skiing and just wanted to sleep. My son was racing so my husband took the first night and woke up so sore. I requested a replacement the next morning, but upon returning to our room that night the same roll away bed was sitting there. Sunday I woke up my son was sore, and I was scratching my leg...thought maybe because of the dry air. I then found I had bites....and after leaving developed a bad infection. The following week i told my husband about my leg and he said he had the same thing on his leg which had started at Boyne. I notified the management who said they would check out the bed. I also complained about the roll away bed. I sent photos of the bed and of my leg (taken a week after being there). I got a short reply by email stating, "we looked and didn't find a bug in the room". For $700 a night I expected more in the way of comfort and concern. I have stayed at establishments for $100 a night that included breakfast and had a much better experience. Also note, the pool area was covered with dirty wet towels all over the room. I had to move wet towels left by others in order to sit down. There was no one there to clean up? The best experience was the buffet breakfast at the grand lodge and short walk from the room to the hill. Their phone customer service staff were the best! Management. We understand that some things are out of the managements control when they occur but, again....upper management was dismissive and didn't care when it was brought to their attention! read more

We were originally supposed to be in The Clock Tower Lodge but there was a power outage and were shifted over here. You would think that would be a good thing, better hotel etc. But you would be SO wrong. I think they punished us for being from another hotel. The put us in one of the farthest rooms from the front desk, which is where you have to go to get to skiing. We had a ski-out room booked at The Clock Tower and when we checked in the lady at the front desk said we had a ski-out room. She lied, it's at least a 1/2 mile walk to the front desk and then you have to trek another 1/2 mile to the ski lift. My husband has a damaged leg and he can ski because the boot immobilizes his calf, but the walking hurts it bad. We ended up not doing a lot because of the walk. If they were busy I could maybe understand it, but we are here on a Mon-Wed stay and the parking lot is empty. I've seen nobody in the hallways, thats right, it takes multiple hallways to get where we are. Also, there were no coffee mugs and only dirty glasses in our room. It too them 2 hours to get us mugs. It was pure malice to put us all the way down here. We leave tomorrow and I can't wait, I will NEVER stay here again and will make it my mission to put this bad review on every platform I can find. If you decide you still want to stay here try to get a room numbered less than 50, ie. 150, 250, 350. I gave them an 3xtra star because the pool and hot tubs were great. read more

Huge place! We booked a night and though we booked the Spa package and had a room in the area of the hotel, we were next door to a very loud family, or a family with a very loud child. So while it is a very family friendly resort hotel due to Avalanche Bay waterpark, it would have been nice if they kept the childless couples in one location. We have children of our own, so we love kids and have stayed at places like this with ours, but since they do have such a wonderful spa and spa packages available, it would seem to make sense to keep the rooms segregated just a bit for those not there for the family thing. I would still go there again, but hearing a screaming kid on and off when were were traveling without ours was just a bit of a drag. The clothing optional "wet room" and massages we enjoyed were wonderful. Worth going back again just for the spa! read more

Other than the concussion I got from snowboarding on Deer Run (be careful!), I had a GREAT time at Boyne. The family and I hung out a lot at the resort. This is the new lodge on the mountain, so naturally it is very clean for a resort. The best part of this lodge is the indoor/outdoor pool. It's just a bit under the temperature of the hot tub and SO relaxing after a long day of skiing/snowboarding. They also have 2 outdoor hot tubs. Needless to say, we spent most of our time here:) It's nice that during your stay you can charge everything to your room, so there is no need to carry cash. Careful though, this can make for a pretty hefty bill at the end of your stay. The only part of the lodge experience I didn't love was the restaurant "Everetts." We had awful service from our waitress. The food was decent, but of course, overpriced. I had the caesar salad, which was very good. Overall, a great place to stay when you want a resort right at the bottom of the slopes. It was super convenient that we could come back to the room for a quick hot cocoa break whenever we wanted. Do not stay here. I and my new wife were going to stay here for our honeymoon. It seemed like a nice place surrounded by breweries, wineries and restaurants in the cities. We checked in and asked the front desk employee about services offered at Boyne and he didn't have a lot of knowledge about his place of work. We went to our building "Boynehof" to go to our room. It's the only building that is pet friendly and the reason that is because the building is as old as the mountain it's self and poorly kept up with. Walking through the main doors the building had that moth ball retirement home smell. Had to go up a flight of oddly narrow stairs with my dogs "not very pet friendly so far". The key for the room was an over sized gold key; seemed like it came out of a western movie. Walked in the room to see a room that makes a motel 6 look like a spacious paradise. The two beds, night stand and small two person table take up all the space. The bathroom is very claustrophobic feeling. The toilet is shoved into a very tight space so good luck using it if you're a little on the big side. When we used the shower it sounds like a motor boat and you can hear the pipes shacking through the wall. My wife was furious with the size of the room but I tried to make the best of it "my mistake". The next day we went to the main building for breakfast since it was on our room package. The breakfast buffet is shit. Either over cooked or cold and asking $25 per person I would expect more from a resort. We went into town and when we came back they where ripping the room off our building... WTF. We opened the door to our room were my little pugs were shacking and having panic attacks. The amount of noise from the construction was insanely loud. My wife called the front desk and was told that they do not know anything about the construction or how long it will last. The front desk said there was nothing they could do for us either moving rooms or anything else. I then called front desk myself and had it out with the women running the desk. She only offered a small refund after I demanded it, because I would be checking out "since yet again I was told they could not give us another room". Told her I wanted to talk to the manager and was told she went home for the day.. It was only 1pm.. You're running a resort that has people staying 24/7 and she check out early. Being the only supervisor they seem to have, I would say that's not a good idea. I told them to have her call me as soon as she came in. The next day I received a call from Christy Peck. She told me that they would not fully reimburse me for my trip. She gave me a few more dollars back but nothing to make up ruining our honeymoon. I asked to talk to her boss and she told me he was on vacation "of course he is". I told her I want to speak with him when he's in "yet to hear back from him". Spent the weekend at Boyne with the family and had a great time. While the kids and husband were skiing and snowboarding, I tried the Spa services at the Grand Lodge for the first time. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely go back. Here are some of my thoughts. Day 1 - really enjoyed the relaxation room. It was cozy and I felt comfortable and relaxed in between services. The women only relaxation room just outside the women's locker room is okay, but a little sterile compared to the larger room. Boyne may want to consider how to make it a bit more cozy. I had an amazing massage - kudos to the therapist. Would absolutely do it again. I also used the heated whirlpool and sauna room and enjoyed those experiences as well. The only negative was the condition of the women's locker room. One shower needed immediate attention and a bathroom stall was surprisingly out of toilet paper (it had room for two large rolls, so it had not been checked in quite a while). Day 2 - same great experiences in the relaxation room. I received a facial and chose the 75 minute session over the 50 minute session because I had the time and wanted to extend my experience in the Spa. The facial part of the service was fine, but the massage portion was underwhelming. In addition, the service started late and the facialist/therapist was delayed in getting to the room. Overall I think I only received about a 65 minute service. Not a huge deal except I choose a longer service on purpose, was charged for the extended session and expected to get a full 75 minutes. My final comment concerns the way the Spa has embraced the practice of proposing the tip - not uncommon these days. More and more, I am seeing companies/employers transferring their responsibility to pay their employees to the consumer. Don't get me wrong, I strongly believe in tipping great service. But, as I observe more and more trends toward "tip shaming" or pushing for tips in a non tip industry (like the new electronic cashier options where they ask for tipping at a fast food type counter), I am taking back my power on the tipping. At the Spa, they presented me with a receipt that included a 20% for the service. I don't have a huge problem with that unless the service didn't meet your expectation and then you have to proactively make that change. Tipping should be at the discretion of the consumer, not the suggestion or "tip shaming" of the business. In addition, they explained that 18% would go to the therapist and 2% would go to the Spa. I found that ridiculous as the Spa was already charging higher than normal prices because of the captive consumer at the Resort. I felt bad for the therapist that their employer would take that portion of the tip. Overall, the experiences were great, but I suggest Boyne rethink the approach to tipping as the consumer should be in charge of assessing the service, not the business. read more

We spent a week in the summer staying at one of the condo units on the resort property. Me, my husband, our 6yr old son and my parents all in the Creekside lower unit and it is plenty big enough for all to spread out when we are here. The condo is beautiful and has great views of the surrounding area. We have spent most of our resort time this week on the shores of Deer Lake, swimming, kayaking, ordering fruity drinks from the Tiki Hut, and lounging in the shade. A perfect spot for the heat wave that hit when we arrived! And because the lake is so shallow, our non-swimming son can play to his heart's content. One of the days during our week stay, we sent our son to Fritz's Adventure Camp. It happened to be the water park day as well, so he was able to get in plenty of play time with other kids, water slides, and fun away from mom and dad. We indulged in spa time while he was having fun. Yes, Solace is very pricy. However I have to say they are very professional and their services are excellent. Both my husband and I had deep tissue massages and pedicures to celebrate our anniversary. There were plenty of extra special touches within the spa-fruit infused water, loose leaf tea, an European bathing ritual in each locker room, hot towels during your massage, cool towels after, and Bellinis as we had our pedicures. Overall it has been a relaxing week for our family. And Boyne has been a great place to base from to explore Northern Michigan. I highly recommend it to families who would like a resort that has activities planned for them, but is also looking for quiet places to get away from it all. read more

Stayed here for Labor Day weekend 2018. We had a two level suite in the Mountain Grand Lodge, our room was clean, comfortable, and roomy. Nice wet bar with microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. Two full bathrooms, a few closets, fireplace and balcony. There was a king size upstairs bedroom with jacuzzi and a pullout sofa in the living room downstairs. We would love to come back and stay longer. Pool area was nice and the landscaping throughout the properties is beautiful. There are many things to do and see here. read more

My friend and I decided to visit Solace Spa for her birthday. The drive to Mountain Grand Lodge is pleasant from Petoskey, especially after a fresh snowfall. The spa is nice with lots of amenities. I had a facial with Diane. I enjoyed her input and learned a lot about my skin during our session. I also had a manicure. They have a vegan nail polish brand that I was a little skeptical about but I have to say that it lasted for over a week. While sitting for my manicure I faced a large window that looks onto the front of the ski mountain. It was really beautiful. Make sure you spend time enjoying the other amenities: wet & dry hot saunas and a magnificent (huge) whirlpool. I felt that the prices were on-par for a formal spa. read more

The best and the most courteous staff I've seen in a long time at a resort ! You're typically led to believe that the staff at a Resort location are very curt, and lack courtesy, but not until you visit Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa. We stayed here for Christmas eve, and found the hotel, its staff and every aspect of the place simply awesome. The Room we were promised was Mountain View and we got that, we booked a 2 bed two bath suite that were connected, and we got that. We had a plethora of channels for kids [esp FX that was playing endless animation hits like Kung Fu Panda 1,2, How to train your dragons etc] , and also very well functioning refrigrator, microwave et al. We got along with our stay, access to the water park on 24th and 25th, Free Passes to Tubing [ all Day access ], and also breakfast, all for 360$, which in my view is a steal for two families. The most impressive part was the COURTESY of all the staff. We requested for additional sheets, we got them. We requested a late check out for 2pm as we had small kids and didn't want to use common toilets, we got that [thanks to LOGAN the front desk agent]. Awesome Breakfast choices, and also when went tubing and came back, there was a nice lady serving one of the best HOT CHOCOLATES, I've tasted in a long time......., there is a direct walkway to Avalanche bay, and all that awesomeness in one place is too hard to tag a value for !! And this list goes on !!! So if you're Up North, and want a great stay in Boyne, look no further, the amazing combination of Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa coupled with Avalanche Bay is the place to be at !! Our stay at Boynehof was less than spectacular. The room smelled musty and damp even though, according to the thermostat, it was 84 degrees in the room. The least they could have done was turn on the air before guests arrive. It took the wall AC unit hours to cool down the room. The bathroom was another matter. It seems that caulk is the answer to most repairs. The toilet had a giant plunger next to it, never a good sign, because the toilet has a flushing issue. I would never stay here again. I suggest that the Boynehof be torn down and another lodge be built in its place. read more

Pierson's Bar & Grill: Eat one of their French Dips, they are incredible. I ate one at about 10:30pm while setting up to play music in there. It was heaven. I was starving and moderately intoxicated, and this was the best friggin' sandwich I'd ever eaten. Later on a stripper/escort took her top off in front of my band. It was hot for about .5 seconds, then it totally became gross. The Coors lights here are awesome as well. Very cold. I drank lots of them while trying to ignore the stripper, and the coors burps brought up memories of the French Dip. Mmmmmm. Later, while we were loading out, the stripper was masturbating in the window, putting on a show for the folks outside. It was gross, but it was after the stupid Kid Rock show, so what do you really expect? All in all I really think that Pierson's has the best food of any of those places. It's simple bar food, but they do it well. In terms of price, everything up there is expensive, so you shouldn't really expect to pay less than $15 per person for food and a drink anyway. And for f*** sake, tip your bartenders and waitrons. read more

Solace Spa- Excellent spa. I visit the spa at least 2 times a year and I never leave disappointed. It is pricey but well worth your money. They have a very professional and attentive staff that will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I've had massages, facials and manicures there and everything has always been perfect. The facilities are super clean and loaded with all the essentials and extras. They have a nice work out facility with clean, new and working equipment. Their men and women's locker rooms have plush robes, zen sandals, large towels, pool size hot tubs, cool bath, saunas. The locker rooms have blow dryers, curling irons, flat irons, hair ties, nail polish remover, nail files, feminine supplies, razors, shaving cream, lotion, mouth wash, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The locker rooms are well maintained and clean. Before and after any service, you wait in a dimly lit, quiet relaxation room that has large lounge couches and ottomans. There is fresh fruit, water and tea available. After spa services, you are escorted back to the relaxation room with a plate of fresh strawberries, water and cool towel. If you plan on getting an services at Solace give yourself plenty of times before and afterwards to enjoy their facilities. There is also access to the indoor pool and adult only outdoor pool for the su,mer months. You won't be disappointed and you won't want to leave. Returned from a four-day stay here, and we had a great time. There were so many things for the family to do, the food was good, and the views were lovely. The water park is definitely the best I've ever been to by far. However, what really made this trip so wonderful was the help of the staff at the lodge, particularly Steven, Nicole, and Melissa. We had a bit of an issue with our accommodations, and those three went well beyond the call of duty to make sure we were taken care of and completely comfortable. Needed highlights and a cut and Libby did a great job on both when I saw her yesterday at the spa and salon inside the Grand Mountain Lodge at Boyne Mountain. If you wanna indulge and get some much needed pampering, I recommend scheduling yourself an appointment with Libby while your here - then show up and have a glass of champagne, with rest assured your going to leave better looking then when you arrived! Prices were not too bad either, reasonable in comparison to most resorts I have in the past optioned while at a property. Boyne has great ski hills, but besides that, everything else is a mess. The cabin we stayed in had dirty dishes, literally all of them. To add to that, they gave us the wrong key and drug out the process so that it was a lot harder then it had to be! The counters were dirty, the beds were disgusting, and stuff littered the floor. Clearly, hygiene isn't important for Boyne. read more

My family loves to ski and I don't- so how to get a workout and relax while on a ski vacation? The Spa is the answer. For $35 day pass I took Sue's Mat Pilates class and got a great workout. Then - to the spa where I had strawberry infused water and changed into my robe and sandals provided for me. I spent 15 minutes in the Hot tub to relax my sore muscles. Next- off to the quiet room to lounge with me feet up in front of the faux fire and sip some herbal tea and read my book. After 20 minutes of relaxing, back to the spa for the wet sauna with Eucalyptus steam clearing my sinuses. I melted away any post christmas stress I was holding onto in my 10 minute sauna visit then cooled off with the icy towel provided. Off to the quiet room for more infused water and my book. I ended the day with a shower and enjoyed using all the fun body and hair products laid out at my disposal. The facility itself is old and could use a remodel but the staffed kept it clean and well equipped. The staff was friendly. I liked my visit so much I spend 5 days there and treated myself to a body massage one day (they wave the $35 fee if you have a spa service). I will be back next year! read more

We LOVE Boyne. We are season pass holders and up there every other weekend in the winter. Once yearly we splurge and stay in the Mountain Grand Lodge. The one thing we always look forward to is the hot tub in the evening after a day of skiing. Once again we were extremely disappointed that a huge group of local teenagers had taken over both hot tubs (this seems to be a regular occurrence when we stay there). We got to the pool around 7 pm- we waited until 9 pm- and finally left. We never did get to sit in the hot tub as the kids were in the entire time. We did get to swim in the pool- but it was not nearly as warm or relaxing. We saw several people come out to the hot tubs- take one look and leave. This is unacceptable! It happened both Friday and Saturday nights so we never made it in the hot tub. SO disappointing. We spend a lot (way too much) of money to stay at this hotel only for the experience to be ruined by local teenagers (shouldn't paying customers come first???). I think we have finally learned our lesson that it's just not worth the money to stay here. On top of that- the check in line was slow and long, the room seemed tired and the response time for requested items was beyond slow (we finally got a fan after 24 hours and 4 phone calls, never did get a bag for ice bucket). read more

Recently went with a group to Solace Spa, and it was overall a nice expereince. I got the green tea coffee wrap, which was 80 minutes long, relaxing, and I felt great afterward. Pretty much, you get a good buffing, a treatment for firming, a scalp massage, and a lotioning up that also amounts to a massage. Abby provided the treatments and was very professional and attentive. If I were to give stars based on her, I'd give 5. I did, however, find most of their services to pretty pricey. Also, when I went to check out I tried to buy an eyeshadow which was a minor fiasco. First, I asked the girl checking me out what the price was, and after a lot of shuffling around and asking other people, she could not. Then I asked if I could just buy it (I'd been able to guess the approximate price on my own). More shuffling around, more asking and calling other people. No, I could not buy it. The eyeshadows sitting out were displays, and apparently only displays with no option to buy. Kind of silly. Anyway, keep in mind that there is a 15% gratuity automatically added on to spa services, so if you really appreciate the staff person who works with you, you may wish to add on a bit more. read more

My family and I have stayed at the resort a handful of times over the past few years. Although we've never had any "big" issues, this past weekend unfortunately the staff made our stay a complete debacle. It all started when I called the main line to double check we reserved a crib for our 2 year old. The operator sent me to the front desk where it rang for 10 minutes and bounced back. I tried this a second time, and the less than helpful operator told me that she couldn't help me and had no idea why the front desk wasn't answering. I texted my friend and asked if she would walk to the desk and request a crib for me, she said although she dealt with an incredibly rude and condescending staff member, I should be all set. Fast forward an hour later and we arrive, the woman checking us in told my husband that they didn't have any "crimpers" as we requested. MIND BLOWN. I immediately went back and spoke to "thaddeus" and told him that I needed a CRIB. His immediate (and slightly ignorant) response was "we don't have cribs, we have pack and plays"....I then had to educate thaddeus that it's the same darn thing. Fast forward several hours and our pack and play never showed up, leading to yet another frustrating call. Imagine our shock and disgust when we went to set up the pack and play when it finally arrived and it was BROKEN!! This is now the second time this has happened to us at the same resort! Our toddler was awake past her bedtime and near hysterical, but we of course had to wait another 25 minutes for a new pack and play....naturally the sheet didn't fit (thank goodness we don't have an infant and have the worry of SIDS) so I made do. The following day our hiccup was carry out from everett's...I placed an order at the hostess stand with the manager, and 15 minutes later when I came to pick it up, the staff at the hostess stand was confused and said that someone else had come to pick up my order! Clearly it wasn't anyone from our family, and so they managed to give my kids dinner away to someone else? More waiting while they scrambled to prepare our food--which we realized wasn't correct when we went up to the room, but I had three hungry kids under 5 so we made do. The last and final straw was Saturday evening when after eating at Forty Acres where we naturally charged our bill to the room--as we had all weekend...only to be chased down by our sweet (she was fabulous, I felt awful for her!) waitress an hour later at a separate location within the resort telling us that someone at the front desk made it so that we could not have room charges. Impossible we say, as we had been charging coffee/other misc meals the entire weekend with no issue. Sure enough, we march right up to the front desk where we come in contact with yet rude, condescending and completely incompetent staff members who gave my husband the managers card and started to point fingers of blame. After sharing our frustrations with multiple friends and family members, I have now heard a handful of other stories about the incompetent front desk, as well as how the hotel staff has declined in service over the past few years. I had troubles with the spa from the time I made the appointments. The person that answered seemed too busy to even take appointments. When I told her the date date and approximate time I wanted to come in, she said "there's a massage or a manicure, which one do you want?" I was trying to make an 80 minute facial and a pedi. She was rude the entire call and kept cutting me off. The actual spa day was decent at times and pretty bad at others. The locker room attendants are fabulous. The relaxation area is nice. My facial was okay, but not special for a pricey 80 minute jobber. The pedi was awful! The tech had me sitting by myself for 18 minutes of it (I checked the clock) while she changed garbage liners and did various other side work tasks. The polish job was shoddy and she had an attitude when I asked questions about the service. Some staff at the spa thinks that a day at the spa speaks for itself, but we pay to be treated well and special. I go to spas all the time, including many experiences at this one. Service is an afterthought and customers don't matter. They need vast improvements. I'm shocked that I spent over $700 for an experience like that. read more
