I had been hearing the Time Out Sports advertised on the radio for some time now. So when my feet started bothering me a few weeks ago I knew I wanted to go in and talk with Cindy. Prior to arriving in store I did my research and found two pairs of shoes that might interest me. Upon arriving, we were welcomed and asked if we needed assistance. I immediately asked about the shoes. Later my husband said the Oofos slippahs might help to support my arches when I am not at work. One pair of shoes that I tried on made the ball of my left foot sore. The second pair I tried Hoka One One Gaviota provides the best support for plantar fasciitis which sounded like something I had. Bought the Gaviota and a pair of Oofos slippahs that also help support my arches. This along with stretching makes my feet feel good and I am now on the road to recovery. Hoka One One's are pricey however I see it as investing in myself since I walk 8-10 miles daily for my job. Got what I came for in a relatively reasonable amount of time. It was time to get new shoes. I knew that I was coming to Billings, MT anyway for the marathon event, so I decided to come to Time Out Sports to see what I can get. Time Out Sports markets itself as Montana's leading specialty running store, so I was interested in seeing what they had to offer. After many marathons across the USA and other places, my latest shoes that I currently race in seemed to be on its last legs. I needed advice on what kind of shoe to get - maybe an upgrade to the current shoe, so that it would be better for me instead of buying the same one, hopefully at an affordable price. Learning that Montana has no sales tax, I would save a few dollars anyway. I arrived here on a brisk Saturday morning, basically right after they opened around 9am. I asked them for advice on what shoes I should need. I wore my 50 states marathon finisher shirt that day, so I guess that was a clue to them that I need good shoes that conform to my feet to run as much as I do. I was shown 3 pairs of shoes, but at the end of the session, I decided on a new brand that I have not used yet. Fingers crossed that it will be good for me and that it will be a good fit - in the long term. The overall experience here at Time Out Sports went pretty well, as I do enjoy going to running stores and checking out the latest shoes for running. I ended up getting a good review about my feet and perhaps this information will serve me well in the years to come. For now though, I did enjoy my time here at Time Out Sports. Can't say I'll be back, as I was visiting from another state (HI), but never say never! Time Out Sports is a small running store but with a lot of heart. It's located at 1595 Grand Avenue on the busy streets of Billings, MT. They accept credit cards, so that was a good thing for me. Since they are in a large shopping complex, parking here is plentiful and you probably could get a space right in front of the shop. Not sure if the Billings public transportation system comes out here, but best bet is to check online and then come here for your new running shoes. For the most part though, Time Out Sports sells pretty much everything and anything you would need for running. Shoes, obviously, and apparel, along with accessories to get you going and moving with your running and fitness goals. The store itself is clean and organized like a specialty running store would be, providing everyone with access to running and running related stuff. If you are new to running and want to get a handle on how to proceed, check the experts out at Time Out Sports. They can evaluate your feet and get you set in good shoes. Whether you are coming into the sport for the first time, getting a handle on your fitness goals, trying for your first 5k, or even popping your first marathon, the staff here at Time Out Sports will help you with your goals. I am happy that I got my new brooks ghost 8 from there. And with Montana not having a sales tax, I saved a little bit of cash too! I'm a runner set on running a marathon for my 55th birthday. At the beginning of this process it became clear I would need expertise that went beyond what was available at a typical large retailer. I was recommended to Time Out Sports by a fellow runner. I visited the store and had a conversation with the owner about my goal to run a marathon, after a thorough conversation that covered everything from running history to diet, weight and training program she recommended a pair of Hoka running shoes. I loved the shoe and I really appreciated the level of expertise so much I purchased another pair of Hokas about two months later. This time I selected a different model in the product line, a bit firmer with a narrower toe. This was a good shoe until my runs went beyond 10 miles. I worked with the shoe trying to break it in, I tried different lacing configurations and just put more miles on it (close to 100) trying to get the shoe to work, in the end it was just to painful on the left toes to keep going with the shoe. I went back to Time Out Sports looking for a replacement to continue my training, after explaining my situation they gave me a full refund on the shoe! I didn't ask for a refund, nor did I expect one ... it was just offered. I was floored! They moved right into ensuring that I got into a model of Hokas that worked and allowed me to continue the pursuit of my goal. Thank you does not express how much this business practice means to me... Time Out Sports is now and will continue to be MY RUNNING STORE. read more

If I had reviewed this shop back in October when I bought a pair of Brooks running shoes, $108, i would've given 4 or 5 stars. They were very helpful in fitting me and pulling out a ton of shoes to try. The shoes I bought fit better than any I've ever had, and were super comfortable. And I have very hard to fit chronic pain feet. But, sadly, after 2 months of wear (it's now may, bought in October, but these are not snow boots and I've hardly worn them until the last month), they have holes in both shoes. I contacted the store and I'm not satisfied with their refund policy for obviously defective footwear. These are running shoes, meant for serious runners, I use them to walk my dogs. 2 months of wear. The store offers a $65 store credit and I have to return the shoes. Since I live out of town, this is not only inconvenient, it's not fair either. They also tried to tell me that the wear id's because they don't fit right. After the trouble they went to to fit me, and with my chronic pain I couldn't even wear them if they didn't fit, I find this insulting. When I provided pictures of the $30 shoes I've worn for 3 years, with no holes whatsoever, they argued that those are abnormally tough shoes, etc. They don't want to take responsibility for seeking defective shoes. I won't be back and I won't buy Brooks again either. read more
