Spectrum has been charging me twice for Home wifi since 7 months ago. When I talked to the supervisor I was told that they are only giving me back 2 months of this error charge because It was my responsibility to check my bill every month. They are charging customers extra and dont want to take responsibility. I have been a customer for more than 10 years and this is how they treat their customers. They are pushing AppleTV and without saying yes asking for your social security number and birth date and switching you over saying you are saving money by "streaming" AppleTV and we all know you pay to stream additional services! Spectrum provides the worst service ever. Their automated phone service is a joke and goes on and on giving you information that you don't need and has nothing to do with your problem and just wastes your time. I had to reboot the cable box at least 5 times in the past week because I was not getting TV channels that I pay for and have received for years but they do NOTHING ABOUT IT. Their technical service is to keep rebooting which does nothing to solve the problem. I pay a small fortune every year and don't appreciate their lack of service and inability to solve the problem. I actually had a really quick and easy time in the store! If I hadn't been so completely and utterly misinformed by the staff, they would have received 5 stars. I signed up for phone and internet service when I moved to Milwaukee. Painless procedure given what I had just experienced at Sprint. What I didn't know (and wasn't told) was that my monthly phone bill was contingent on having internet service. I'm a travel nurse and moved out of state on 8/31. That is the day I returned my equipment to the store. When I asked if there was anything else I needed to do to cancel my internet service, his response was "No, as long as you've returned the equipment you should be good to go." Perfect! A month later i was charged for internet. He never cancelled my service, I never used internet after 8/31, yet I was charged for it. I've spent more than 4 hours over the course of a month trying to get refunded. No success. I've talked to so many people, and not one of them has been able to fix this, even though it was not communicated to me properly on their part. Now that my internet is finally cancelled, they're trying to charge me $20 extra/month for my phone, something that was also never communicated. The whole system is corrupt. We recently had an issue that needs to be brought to light. A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I came home from work and noticed that there were footprints all over our backyard (it had just snowed). The footprints went straight to both power/cable lines, which are at each of the back corners of our yard. We didn't know if it was the power company or the cable company looking at our lines, but regardless, we were not given any notification that someone would be entering our property. That night (at 3:00 IN THE MORNING, to be exact), my husband and I awoke to something banging against the side of our house. On the 2nd floor. We looked outside and there was a man on top of one of our cable lines. At 3:00 in the morning?! Just working away, doing his thing like he owned the place. My husband went outside to ask exactly what the hell this man was doing on our property WITHOUT NOTICE at 3:00 in the morning. (We call this "trespassing"). The technician told him he was with Time Warner and that he had to splice our wires. This technician was working with Vision Communications, which apparently Time Warner/Spectrum works with in the Milwaukee area. Needless to say, my husband and I were furious so the next morning, I made a very angry call to Time Warner/Spectrum. I told the customer service person what had happened and she literally had me on hold for 30 minutes, trying to find someone who could justify the situation to me (she checked back with me every 5 minutes or so to let me know she was "trying to find someone to help"). The customer service person finally said that they didn't authorize anybody to be at our house at 3am, and that we should just call the cops. Yes, call the cops. So my next angry call was to Vision Communications. Got through to the manager who apparently authorized this work and he asked if we got a door tag to let us know about the work. "No. No sir, we did not." After receiving a very sloppy apology, I proceeded to notify him that his technician trespassed on our property, and that he should be thankful the situation did not escalate because really, what would you do if you found some dude hanging off of your cable wires at 3:00 in the morning? These people entered our property not once, but twice, without notice and without permission. Unacceptable. Just wanted to talk about that. read more

spectrum tv cable ssssssuuuuuuuxxxxxxx big time. they are the worst. do not patronize. if you like watching commercials then subscribe. more and more commercials are being added. i would estimate, in a half hour show, you'll watch 25 minutes of commercials. sometimes the volume of the commercials are much louder than the show you were watching. they have even taken stations away that you have to pay for now. tv viewing is often interrupted and you have to rebooot the system which is a majo pia and time consuming. unfortunately we are forced to subscribe to it in our apartment building. spectrum sux like cancer.. Apparently Spectrum thinks it is okay to charge a full month's service regardless of the days you actually have service saying it is now a MONTHLY subscription (comparing it to Netflix). Pay attention to your monthly end date. If you cancel a few days after your end date you WILL PAY FOR A FULL MONTH! read more

The stream tv from Spectrum sucks. Sling is way better. It consistently loads the ch. during the show, the picture is cloudy and horrible. The picture is like an old box tv that sat on the floor but worse. Images aren't even clear. Super annoying. read more

What an awful company. My set up bill was $150. I was 1 day behind on setting up my auto pay. Paid them on fully 3/13. On 3/20 they still had not processed my payment and cut off my service. Only way to get it back is to go to the store. What a joke. read more

Do not go with this company. They will increase your fees by 20+% each year without any notifications or you agreeing to it. The service is not reliable, continues service interruption, speed is not what advertised and required constant reboot of the modem. And on top of all that once you try to contact their customer service - good luck. You can spend hours waiting without any result. Just awful. I always knew that Time Warner was an awfully run, evil company but this visit took things to a horrific new level. I recently moved to Chicago and had to return my internet router. Simple enough, right? Wrong. I waited 45 minutes in a store with less than desirable people in a less than desirable area of Milwaukee only to have to leave because I have other things to do in life but wait for hours on end sitting on a window ledge to make a simple router return. I was advised by two CSRs that even if I left the router there, without meeting with a representative and "properly" completing the transaction I would be billed for the cost of the equipment. Outrageous but since Time Warner essentially has a monopoly on the Milwaukee metro area, I'm sure they could not care less about experiences like mine. Absolutely despicable. read more

I use Spectrum for internet only. It used to go out frequently but there has been improvement. We went through Spectrum troubleshooting and I'm adept with equipment - it's not on our end. I still wouldn't recommend Spectrum internet for two reasons: price and bottleneck issues. $69 for 20Mbps is high for internet only and I hate that the price jumps after the introductory 12 months. If you want people to like and recommend your brand, abandon that kind of price jacking. Set a fair price and stick to it. I used to pay $45 for the same exact service. Secondly, the more users in your area (think weekends with everyone streaming movies) the more there's a noticeable slowdown. That is how the cable system is set up - it is a shared network. April 2018 Update - AT&T Fiber arrived in my zip code but it's $80/month for 900+Mbps. Would love the speed bump but we're trying to save money. AT&T does have 50Mbps for $40/month for first 12 months, then bumps to $50/month. Sigh, again with the price increase but at least they state it clearly on their web page. Might give that a try and save the $29/month. Also phone lines are dedicated so there shouldn't be the bottleneck experienced on the Spectrum's co-axial shared wire system. read more

The worst customer service and overall service I have ever dealt with. Moved up to Milwaukee and realized I had two choices for cable/wife - TWC and ATT. I stayed in an apartment with TWC for six months and decided to stick with them when I moved into a house. Once I moved into my house, I dealt with awful wifi the whole entire time. My girlfriend and I couldn't use our two laptops and watch Netflix at the same time without major lag. It was pathetic. Even worse, I was paying for their highest internet service - and that was only after I called and complained about my service earlier and wanting to cancel. I moved to a new house last week and did some research between TWC and ATT. I didn't really want to deal with a new cable company, get new parts, change everything up, so I stayed with TWC. They were suppose to come out on a Tuesday (between 3-4 PM) to set up my service. 4 PM rolled on by and no one showed up. I was livid. I had to take off work and no one showed up. I called them and let them know. They were kind enough to credit me $5.56!!! Are you kidding me?!? They said someone would come out tomorrow at the same time to take care of my service. Can you imagine my frustration when no one showed up again the following day? The whole "one-hour time window" commercials you see are a crock of you-know-what. They never showed - again. I called them right away and canceled all the service I had with them. They didn't even put up a fight. I am now with ATT and hopefully they do a better job. If you are in the Milwaukee area, stay as far away as possible from Time Warner Cable. It is not just the service they provide that is frustrating, it is their horrendous customer service that puts it over the top. read more

I am so disappointed in this company. I thought TWC was bad, this company is worse. My bill went from $135 to $190. Had to get rid of all receivers but one to get the price down. Then I receive an advertisement for new customers to get $29.99 plus $20.00 for premium channels. Mission Impossible. I was TWC satisfied customer for so many years. When I moved into my new house I wanted to transfer the service. The technician came and told me that my "house is not wired" and we had to reschedule. I contacted TWC to get the cable buried. I was reassured all is set and the technician will come to finish the installation. The technician came and said "your house is not wired and we have to reschedule". I called TWC again to find out what happened and I was told the order was not placed correctly. I was reassured again by the person I spoke with that this time the cable will be buried and the technician will be able to finish installation. One week later, third technician came and said" your house is not wired and we have to reschedule". Third time... I lost it. I wanted to talk to the manager, Timothy Bryant. I asked him if the installation is possible and if it is not to let me know because I do not want to waste my time and energy .The manager apologized and told me he will personally make sure the job will be done. He gave me his direct phone just in case I need to contact him again. Yes, the buried the cable, technician came and here we go again... the installation cannot be done because the cable is in a wrong place.... The technician told me that whoever buried the cable was not thinking and made such an easy project impossible. The ground is frozen right now and the cable cannot the buried until the weather gets warmer. I called TWC manager, Timothy Bryant. Left a few messages. He has returned my calls. I have waited over 3 months and nothing.... I am done with TWC but I want to make a complaint. Such a mess... The sad thing is that nobody cares anymore, there is no responsible people. read more

Seasonal coverage through Spectrum SEASONAL COVERAGE/SECURITY EQUIPMENT We switched to seasonal coverage after being told that it would not affect our security cameras and The Ring which we installed. As soon as we did that, nothing worked. My electrical engineer husband suspected it was the bandwidth and that we should go off the seasonal plan. We tried to get help with that today and here is what happened. 1. Initially we went on chat, giving our address and the account no. They said they couldn't take us off of seasonal but would have someone call us that could. 2. We again had to give our address and account no. The employee said that they do not give out an ID number, even tho they have them. I asked for them to send a report of our conversation via email but they can't do that either. How can you document what was discussed? We were particularly concerned that our house wasn't protected - how do we know that was noted? What if there was a break-in? 3. Initially we were told that it was the router and that we'd have to either get someone to go to the house and talk with customer service or take the router back and exchange it. We're over 1500 miles away and don't feel like telling someone how to get in or giving them our account information/password. I asked why our thermostat information was coming through the internet if our router was down. Then she said she could reset the modem, which we asked her to do...then she said she couldn't switch us off of seasonal but would transfer us to someone else. 4. We again gave our address and telephone no. This gentleman had problems finding our account because even tho they are all part of Spectrum, they have different systems. He was able to take us off of seasonal but I also wanted the phone and TV off if that was going to happen. He couldn't do that. We'll have to call back. Once he took it off of seasonal, our cameras and The Ring started working. They say that going on seasonal coverage will support your security system but don't count on it. I made an urgent stop here yesterday. Some audio video installation was being done at my home, and two pieces of TWC equipment needed to be exchanged. This location didn't have the equip., but I was very well served by Roosevelt Williams and Tanisha Evans who located the pieces I needed at another location and reserved them for me. I'm very satisfied. I agree w other posters - the space is nice. The whole experience was friendly and efficient. read more

Terrible customer service. Bill went up and called to get it fixed. They offered to take channels off for $13...really? I pay over $190 a month for TV and Internet. Although they have an intro deal for 29.99 plus another $40 for extra channels and that it for TV/Internet/Phone, I do not expect to get intro pricing. But I do not expect to get raped after being with them a year either. What kind of business model is this??? The would rather their customers leave after 12 months due to jacked prices rather than raising their prices to a reasonable amount to try and retain customers instead of churning them - especially if there are other options...well goodbye Spectrum! read more

Up until a year ago, I've always lived in an area where Charter was an option for cable and internet. They were great. Sure, I had some occasional issues, but those were few and far between (every few years, a day might come where I suddenly had an absurdly slow connection for several days straight, or just none at all), and customer service wasn't particularly fast or anything, but it was perfectly adequate. All things considered, I was delighted as a customer of theirs. I was pretty bummed when I learned I could no longer have Charter when I moved to the Milwaukee area, but I was optimistic. It's Milwaukee, I thought. Time Warner, our only option, surely can't get away with being a crappy provider. There are too many people here to piss off. Oh my goodness was I wrong. Every month since we've been here, there has been some sort of issue to contend with. Choppy internet reception, no internet reception, cable cutting out almost constantly (we dropped that pretty quick. Our antenna gives us better quality television, and we don't watch TV that much anyway). On my free time, I enjoy online gaming. I have a life outside of gaming, don't get me wrong, but I have fun with things like the multiplayer maps in Halo and CoD, and recently I've been getting into TESO (I've never been big on MMOs before but it has been really fun). I've never had much issue being able to enjoy these games - or watch videos online or anything like that - with Charter. However, if I have had a single week over the past year where I have NOT had an issue with Time Warner not being able to keep up, I do not remember it. And don't even get me started about the billing issues. One month, after we paid our bill, we got a notice saying we were overdue. Trying to talk to someone who knew what was going on or how to do their job, let alone clear up the blatantly false "overdue" accusation (I keep track of my money, and my bank account history doesn't lie), was almost impossible. It took about a week of daily phone calls, and hours on hold, to finally get the matter resolved. Another month, we realized we weren't getting the internet speed we were paying for. The list goes on, and this review is already too long. Suffice it to say that we're looking for alternative internet providers, and we're REALLY looking forward to being able to move back to an area where we can get Charter again. For the past five months I have reached out to customer service anytime I have received junk mail from them. Being an avid eco friendly person. this is infuriating. Even more so, they have not corrected the issue and have a nearly full grocery bag full of unwanted mail. I have been told I am on the do not mail list. but is apparent that I am not. I received a credit for the trouble the first couple of months, but have been told no more credits are allowed. However, they still have not corrected the issue. I writing about the fact Spectrum turned my cable off, My bill was paid not past due at all, they refused to come out, advised me to make an appointment, complained enough that they came the next day. This was last week Friday turned off Friday night, off all day Friday, didn't want to come until Sunday. They turned me off, no reason, tried to say my line was tagged without an address, I mean when did they come 3am in the morning, I had cable the night before, I get up at 5 am that is when realized off. NO APOLOGIES, nothing. I should be grateful came and turned it back on. But, it really terrible as a long standing customer over 10 years, and no apology nothing, all the guy wanted was a good review. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Individuals who work there cannot be blamed. No one is responsible so nothing gets fixed. Seduced by the Whole House package, I tried to add phone service to the TV/Internet service to save 50/month. Hence requested to transfer my number from Vonage to TWC. Order entered July 11, tried till Aug 24 - no luck. TWC has very polite installers and salespeople who do not understand computers. They don't understand what a field or record is, nor a database. The gentleman who came to install the phone system actually told me, "the systems are talking to each other." Explained to him that systems don't talk - people talk. Systems transmit, if told to do so -- by people. Today the very polite people at TWC store told me the number was transferred. I said it wasn't because it was only ringing on my cell phone, which meant it was forwarding to my cell phone. They actually thought I would believe that a number transfers from another carrier complete with call forwarding and vmail intact. Three people said so with a straight face -- I guess they must believe it. They advised me to go home (that would have been nice for them) and disable call forwarding from my phone number. However you can't disable call forwarding if no call forwarding is set up because call forwarding doesn't magically transfer from another carrier to TWC. I asked my husband to enter *73 from the home line and TRY to disable what we hadn't enabled. When I demonstrated that his advice had not worked, the store manager said I was getting sarcastic. He refused to talk to me any more and said I should call Customer Service or Tech support. The saleswomen at the store were as helpful and polite as the men, and more savvy. Noted that the men all left after five and the women were left to work after 5. (Happened all three times I've been in this store.) Will stay with Vonage for now and check into ATT Uverse. read more

Spectrum is worse than Time Warner Cable. My bill went up every year with TWC. They always told me a promotion expired. Spectrum doesn't offer "Promotions". They supposedly give "discounts". Their "discounts" are higher than TWC's "promotions". So at the end of the year the "discount" will go away, and my bill will go up! This is how Spectrum justifies their increases in my bill. Next year another "discount" will go away, and my bill will go up again. And, these increases are bigger than TWC's. read more

My Internet is so ridiculously slow after spectrum took over. Every other day it seems like my iPad can't load any movies or open any apps, it's took me five minutes to actually access my mail on my computer because the Internet was so slow. When I called it for assistance they try to tell me that there is something wrong with my router and my wireless set up. Which is funny because absolutely nothing has changed as far as the set up of my router or wifi, all the lights are on and blinking, all my devices have Internet access it's just slow as hell. And for some reason I'm paying $20 for some turbo boost crap on my plan and they're sure as hell is not anything turbo about my Internet access. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

They fixed the bill. It's lower. But based on what services we have now. It's still to expensive. I have standard tv and standard 10 mbps internet. No dvr no pay movie channels, don't use On Demand. No variety pass. Don't watch sports channels. Yet our bill will be 161$ a month. Sure it's less than the expensive bill I got the other day. But still not the savings I expected after I dropped our land line with Time Warner. I'm tired of talking to Time Warner representatives. I wanted a price list of each individual service Time Warner offers. Was told they had none to give me. They just talk package deals. I wanted to look at prices of service. Assemble my own package of what I want. Then they blame my big bill partially as my city has higher taxes on these things. For the amount of tv and internet service I have. This is the WORST cable company. We have had nothing but problems. We had to wait weeks to get it installed. On the day we were finally able to schedule them to come in and install it, they asked if they could come two hours earlier so I rushed home from work only to get a call an hour later that they were cancelling the appointment altogether. Once they finally did install the cable and wifi days later, it took hours for the wifi to actually turn on and work. The cable has still yet to work and it has been over a week. We also received a late fee charge even though I made payment over the phone day of them installing the cable and was told it was approved. Their customer service is appalling. Every time we call about one of our multiple problems they are rude and unhelpful. I kind of hate them.... end of story. read more

This is the worst company! I switched from AT&T to these guys called me offering their latest deal. Due to a fixed income, I told the salesman I would switch from Direct TV and AT&T only if they had free instalation. I was lied to and told not only could get more channels, but a $ 100 gift card as well. They came the technician could not speak English well and was not too friendly. After i was connected i noticed half the channels i watch were in 1 package i did not get the other half was in another package. After 5 days I went back to my former carrier who gladly took me back and gave me several discounts to keep me as a customer. when i received my bill they charged me for installation I called to complain stated I was lied to and their response was I am sorry but that is not our problem. I was not concerned about the gift card but I ended up with less channels and their customer service is atrocious. My neighbor is having her service shut off due to pricing, and my uncle is thinking of switching.After all this I was a little late (a few weeks) and they sent me to collections! For $100 bill. I love Direct TV and AT& T yeah they have a contract, but they have a customer appreciation program and awesome customer service and are willing to work with customers. And as far as you not being able to watch during bad weather you still can you got to ask about it when you call. I was at the store today to return some equipment, when an older woman walked into the store. One of the employees immediately greeted her and noticed she wasn't feeling well. The employee had her sit down and asked her if she wanted a bottle of water. The employee took care of the business the woman had, and then offered to walk her out to her car. It became apparent that the woman was not feeling well and was perhaps not able to drive home. The employee offered to call a cab or neighbor to come get the woman, even to drive her car home and take an über back. I left before the situation completely played out, but not before the employee returned once more, and then ran back out into the parking lot to assist the woman again. I think it's just incredible that this young employee went above and beyond for a customer, to ensure that she was okay. read more

Eek! Methinks so. I have been a TWC / Spectrum customer for 25 years. (20 years at current address) I had internet & TV - refused phone. I have Ooma ($5.72/month) for phone - it covers the US - by far the cheapest and best customer service. Back to TWC - I cancelled... My son gave me a most-excellent HD antenna that hides behind the TV and I'm back to watching local channels and some old time programming on .2, .3, .4 channels. It's been great. I was hoping internet alone would be far less expensive than $145 I was paying with BASIC/STANDARD cable, but not so much. $70 for internet only. Am sure this cost will increase as well. In the meantime, I can watch cable programs the day after they air on my computer, so this will do for now. They suck everyone in with a low price, then stab the loyal customers in the back with constant increases. The newbies will find out soon enough. I've had it. Very disappointed with both their customer service and their billing practices. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! This is not specifically about the TWC store on East Capitol, but about TWC in general. My bill arrived recently: $95.03 for Extreme Internet, no TV, no phone. Are you kidding me? A quick look at the internet shows a rate of $54.99 for the same service. I tried chatting with 2 differently Account Billing reps who gave me the same song and dance about reducing my service to a lower Mbps to save money. Seriously? They also suggested I buy my own modem to save money. So I started looking into the modem issue and low and behold TWC's website says if you lease your modem (I do), "We provide the appropriate modem for your Internet service plan and speed tier." Hmmm. I have the same dang modem that TWC installed 15 years ago when I first got the service. So for the past 2-3 years since I upgraded to Extreme...and paid for those "blazing speeds"...I've been getting screwed by TWC because they have been charging me for a modem that cannot deliver the speed I am paying for. No one could help me with an adjustment to my rate plan so I requested they escalate the issue. After 30 minutes on chat hold (I was customer 1 in the queue), I mentioned this modem issue and was quickly cut off saying they could no longer speak to me because I said I might have to speak with my lawyer about breach of contract. The agent suggested I call their legal department. No doubt. 8:00 am tomorrow morning I'll be on the phone. TWC just brought on themselves a hornet nest of trouble. read more
