I have never had a cavity or any dental issues in my life, so this was unexpected as I was just there for a routine cleaning. When I asked the hygienist to proceed with only the cleaning covered by my insurance, there was some hesitation and continued suggestions to purchase additional products, including a specific toothpaste. Overall, I didn't feel that the patient's best interest was the priority, and the experience felt more focused on upselling than straightforward care. If you're looking for a simple, no-pressure dental office, this may not be the best fit.

I've had one visit and the people were very friendly. The front desk and getting checked in was a very good experience and she was quite lovely. I felt I got good care although I felt I did need to advocate for myself on a few minor things. I didn't want them polishing my teeth before the hygienist had completed her scaling. It is not a good practice to polish teeth before all the plaque has been removed. They have quite a few staff members that do different things. They have two hygienist and then they have assistance that do the polishing. You can request having one person do the scaling and the polishing, but they can only accommodate that on certain days due to the lack of staffing?? So for my next visit, I will have one person do it all. They were quite accommodating. I think I'm scheduled with a different dentist for my next visit. I think I will see her and see how I like her. She is newer in her career, but I feel I might like to give her a shot. The jury is still out for me. I'll update in 6 months.

I've had the pleasure of meeting most of his staff, and they are always friendly, professional, and make me feel at ease. Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with strong, healthy teeth, and as a result have endured many trips to dental offices since I was a child. There are many horror stories, but after meeting Dr. Barnes I actually enjoy going to the dentist! The last time I saw him, I needed a dental implant, and boy, was I scared! I had been putting off this procedure for way too long, but after finding out that he could do it, I decided to get it done. I told her that I made an appointment for my regular cleaning. Long story short, I was DENIED service. I left, went home, and filed a grievance with my insurance company. I have never felt so pressured by a dental office than today. I can't believe that I was denied service. They don't know what I had to do to make it there today. Unbelievable. Beware.

He even said "it may feel like it is burning but it is not I promise" yeah well I am going report this the licensing board. He even told my father the day of my surgery after 25 years in business he was tried off his job and wanted to be done soon. Like everything else, the cost of dental care keeps rising and locally with the influx of people there seems to be a shortage of available dentists, too. When I found Birchwood (through reviews and their online site), they had a waiting list. On the list I went and only had to wait a few months. Located in a small strip mall, it's easy to miss, but very close to my home. Been there twice for x-rays and cleanings. Evan was my hygenists both times and he does an excellent job. I love the tv screen on the ceiling as they play netflix's Moving Art. The images are immersive and relaxing. So much so, I started playing it at home. It had been ages since a dentist had checked my teeth at my previous dentist office as he would not be in the office on a regular basis and you had to make a separate appointment from cleaning just to have him check your teeth for a few minutes. Dr. Holdaway checked my teeth at the end of each cleaning. Everyone I encountered is friendly and professional from start to finish. Lucky to find this group.

The dentist got frustrated and grabbed my son's mouth in frustration and told him to, "get it together and get his mind on something else!" I was in the waiting room and never was talked to. I have yet to speak to Dr. Cox. We are currently working with the Board of Dentistry to address the two violations.
