I assumed that's just what the insurer was charging based on actuaries, Then I got the contract, they charged me $110 for the actual insurance policy and then slapped on an agency fee of $150. That's just too steep, especially after I called around and found out how much others were charging. It feels like blatant price gouging, taking advantage of the current crisis situation. It's frustrating to see such excessive fees when you're already dealing with the stress of finding a safe place to live during these wildfires.

Another few months later, I get a letter from Allstate stating that they reinstated myvpolicy without my authorization and uo to today, I still dont have my refund. I left a message for Isaac to call me back and he is just as useless as Alicia. I am sorry but this is the worse insurance company/branch that I have ever worked with. BEWARE: They will give you a low quote at first and then your rates will go up and if you have any issues, they will not resolve timely. They are merely the agents, and it's the insurance companies themselves that are coming up with "make believe" reasons for getting out of California. An article in a local newspaper yesterday sites a pending class-action suit against Liberty Mutual for cancelling a policy due to "excessive mold, mildew, algae and moss" on the roof of a home near San Diego. This is the exact same reason SAFECO gave for cancelling the homeowners policy on my mom's home. The insurance companies simply want out of California for a variety of reasons and they aren't being very cooperative with the agents who write their business. So, while J and J wasn't very helpful initially through this cancellation procedure, I now understand their hands are somewhat tied and often times it is out of their control. Blame the big companies, not the agents. I now change my rating to four stars.
