Excited to have a fun neighborhood bar! It has 60's/70's decor that is so fun and eclectic down to the cocktail glasses. You can get a punch bowl cocktail served in a crystal punch bowl! The music was great. Bob Ross playing on one of the TV's. The homemade pizza rolls and fries were delicious. Looking forward to their full menu. Insanely cool bar. Went on a Saturday night, walked over from my Bevo home, and they had a live DJ mixing some 70s bangers. The atmosphere is like you're walking back in time 50 years into a 1970s night club. Cocktails are on the higher end of pricing, but they might be the best in the whole city. You can also order some food and hang out in a quieter room if that's your jam. We'll definitely be back to dance. read more

Tim's chrome bar is a whole ass vibe. I came here today for their Sunday bingo and I genuinely never wanted to leave. We got there a bit early to snag a table so around 2 pm and there was plenty of parking in the side lot. It quickly filled up for bingo but the bartenders and kitchen staff didn't skip a beat; everything was quick, fresh, and delicious. We nearly ordered one of everything but honorable mention to the wake me up before you go go and the deviled eggs, I mean *chefs kiss*. My first time in under the new ownership, also the first day open to the general public. I can say I was the first one there. The bartender was wonderful as were the cocktails. I tried three out of the four on the menu, they were all hits. Love the decor; very retro 60-70's. Probably a little higher in price for the cocktails than most bars in the area but the quality it there. I definitely recommend. I'm not a big "go to a bar" person, so the fact that I often am in the mood to hit up Tim's Chrome Bar is pretty major! The vibes and decor are incredible, giving such a fun 70s aesthetic. I've had the punch of the day multiple times, and it's always tasty and fun (and honestly, the rainbow sherbet is my favorite part), and their specialty cocktails always look great. Tim's is a five star spot for me, but some of the food is more of a three or four star. Their snacks are a little pricey for the size, and are good but not necessarily great. I'd skip them in favor of tastier options elsewhere, and save my appetite for drinks! read more

What's not to LOVE!! We went there for there FREE sun bingo. Where you get 10 FREE rounds of bingo and a dauber. We picked the best seats in the house but I'm a little jealous I didn't pick a table because they had free visors that I swear I wore in 1985 at 6 flags lol. It instantly brought me back to my childhood. This is the perfect place to go and forget about all the world's problems and enjoy a night of fanominal hand made cocktails and a round of Bingo. I came across last Saturday night while scouting places for a pub crawl I'm organizing. I can't tell you how exited I was to discover Tom playing music. For those that don't know, Tom is the One Man Band that used to play at Sundecker's back in 90's. The bar itself is about as perfect a dive bar as you can find. The barstools are and tables are dated, but comfortable. The owner/ bartender, Tim, comes across as slightly grouchy, but is extremely funny. The year round Christmas lights and garland are a nice touch, but the jewel is the stage framed by go-go girl silhouette lights. Nothing like it anywhere else. We knew Tim's had fabulous MCM decor which is what we went to check out, but the vibe and atmosphere is why we'll go back. The decor is spot on, and the music was fantastic, everything from soul and funk to disco. The patrons were amazing! It was one of the most inclusive bars I have ever experienced. So many different age groups and walks of life all hanging out just having a great time. Drinks were inconsistent, not bad, but not the reason to come. The snacks were great! Definitely recommend the pizza rolls and the Bugles with french onion dip. If we lived closer, this would be our hangout place. read more

Went here tonight after a double date with good friends for drinks. Vibes were immaculate! We nick named it "Forman's basement" bc we are That 70's show fans. A tornado warning went off while we were there, so the staff suggested we all go into the basement. It was a little cramped but was actually so fun! The staff brought down Jell-O shots and beer and we all hung out for a good 20-30. When we went back up everything was fine and the staff was so attentive to make sure no one slipped because of the water being tracked in from the storm. Tim is the real deal as are his patrons for they come from the time/space continuum of having a good drink and music to dance to. The regulars are friendly and Tim is always down for a chat. They have a regular following of 60+ dancers who drink heavy and look like they have been doing so for many years. They always have live music on Saturday nights. I was recently a guest of the wonderful land called STL and my hosts decided to take me to Bevo on my first night for some rando adventures. The neon glory of Chrome Bar beckoned to us and we answered, moth to flame style. We peeped in the windows, trying to scope the scene and after some stalling made our way in. We were definitely the youngest people in there by probably 20 years, and we are pushing 30. There were folk chillin' at the bar and a few on the dance floor, getting their groove on to classic tunes sung live by a gentleman in repose. It was dark, lots of vintage beer signs (the real thing, all there for 30+ years I'm sure), and plenty of character. If you have a wig, you can definitely store it at their coat check. We sat back with some bevvies to take it all in but soon grew restless and tried our luck with a shuffle bowl game in the back. The bar staff seemed somewhat amused by us but were very helpful in advising us on the intricacies of the bowling game. Visited on Friday night and had a marvelous time in this wood paneled wonder. Wood veneer tables, brown vinyl chairs, a dance floor - yes! There were two guys playing songs from the 70s and 80s - felt like a wedding reception. This would be a great place to bring a large group of friends to dance and drink with the older folks who must be regulars. That smell of stale cigarettes in the air, Knights of Columbus hall table and chairs, mirrors on the wall that scream hello from the 1970's. All of these things make me love this place. Both times I've been here the live music hasn't bee that bad. Really fits the atmosphere. Drinks and shots are cheap and the bartenders pour heavy. The mood is old school, the people are chill, yet not easily impressed by pretense. Real people are at the center of this bar, not the the endless chatter you will find in microbreweries. All good stories start in bars like Tim's. The people dance and talk and ignore you if you wish. The beers and drinks are reasonable. The target demographic here is definitely retirees, but they're retirees who like to have fun. My girlfriend and I ended up here on a whim one night. When we walked in there was a man playing guitar and singing along to karaoke backing tracks on stage, and two older women (one in an amazing skin-tight sequined dress) were dancing. We ordered gin and tonics, which I think cost about $3.50 each. Everyone else seemed to be drinking beer, so we weren't going to try our luck with any fancier cocktails, though there is a huge array of liquor behind the bar, including some toxic-looking flavors of schnaps. At one point the karaoke man put on the Electric Slide and got off stage to dance with the 2 women. I can only hope that I have as much fun in retirement as the people here. read more
