[July 2025] Kenny's is on the Grand strip is what I like to call it. If you're like me and remember the "Upstairs Lounge", Kenny's is where that used to be. As you ascend the stairs lit by vibrant red neon lights, you ascend into a bar that giving 80s met with dive bar feels but elevated craft cocktails. I ended up having not one but TWO Electric Eye cocktails. It's made with Midori, Bay Leaf Gin, Bonal, Strawberry, Lemon and Kiwi. Their craft cocktails will run you $12+. They also have non-alcoholic creations that are around $8-$10. Shots are $5-$6. They do serve beer and have a pool table. It can be a bit crowded so plan accordingly or be comfortable with the prospect of standing. read more

I had went there for a dj event about a 2 weeks ago and I had found a seat at the bar patiently waiting to get a drink. I understand that when bars r packed it's hard to get to everyone but there was 2 bartenders. Anyway I proceed to wait and this guy comes up behind me and orders a beer. (as noted I'm sitting down) He gets served and I'm still sitting there waiting for her to ask me if I needed anything. Then I ask the people next to me if they have come to that side of the bar at all. I finally get service and within mid sip of my water because I was so turned off by the experience that I jget up to leave. I'm not the type of person to call things racist but being a POC, I felt ignored. It wasn't a good feeling grated I was n a room full of wyte ppl. Which never bothers me. Also for a dance nite I thought it was odd that they had tables surrounding the dj which tells me there was no actual "dance floor". It seemed like it was just a hangout dj nite. What a bummer. What a great place! Super cozy vibes with really cool retro decorations. I got two drinks, a whiskey sour and a gin and tonic. Both were great but the whiskey sour was a stand out. The bartender was super funny and attentive even when it got busy. The pool table was also a lot of fun. You write your name on the chalk board to get in line. Well taken care of. I went to Kennys for the first time this week and enjoyed myself. I had the Dill Pickle Martini and it was tasty. It was a gin martini that tasted less like a pickle and more like the pickling seasonings used. I really enjoyed it! The bartender was friendly and sassy, really interacting well in a playful back and forth with his guests. First time here; totally dug it. Dark, mysterious, and cool vibe. Almost a little speakeasy-ish. Loved the jazzy music playing. Got here at 5 or so on a Saturday, and It wasn't very busy. It did start filling up over the next hour or so. Bartenders seemed a little new, but super friendly and the drinks were outstanding. What a neat place! I was there pretty early in the evening so there really wasn't a crowd at all, but that didn't stop this girl from having a great time! I believe my bartender's name was Alice (I think) and she was so cute! Whenever I go anywhere new, I want to try something new, and she helped me pick out the BEST cocktail! It was super yummy! She also made some shots for my friend and myself (the green tea shot and the little shot that looks like a tiny beer), and you know how some bartenders "got it" and some not so much? Kenny's was the second stop of our Thursday happy hour I had with my colleague. Again, this was another place I had been wanting to try, so I was excited to finally check it out. Their happy hour menu is fairly limited, mainly consisting of some beers I didn't recognize and daiquiris. We both got the daiquiris and were delighted with the result. While sweet, it wasn't overpowering and was quite refreshing. This place wasn't anything like I excepted but in the best way possible. It's almost like a bougie hipster bar! Who would have thought? I can easily see this as being the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. The bartender was courteous and makes great drinks. The vibe is chill and laid back, which is the perfect setting to relax after a long day at work. I certainly indent on coming back next time I'm in the area. read more

Found the decor and vibe of the place to be fun, weird, and nostalgic. Staff provided quick service. The pool table was occupied so we just sat at the bar and people watched. Pros: they had cheap, gas station style, hotdogs & narcan in the restroom Cons: there was free palestine graffiti in the bathroom, and a few young 21-23 year olds were doing "sus things" in the bathroom (that one might need narcan for). I used to come to The Upstairs when it was a Techno Club. I got to see the Spirit of My Buddy Tu whose dad owned the place. If you went there back, then you know what I mean. The Music is different now but still good. They had energetic sounding heavy Music playing. There was free pool, and the Bartender was friendly. I almost o.d.ed on some Marijuana beer but the Bartender offered me some Water and 7up with a lime to make me well again. Most places are not that accommodating. I am totally bummed I didn't take any pictures when I was here! I loved everything about it. The door to get into Kenny's is right next door to La Crazy Margarita. It has letters on the door, but that is it. It's easy to miss so keep your eyes peeled, Once you enter, you're faced with a large lit staircase, which will take you directly to the bar. The vibe is awesome! Very low key and chill, low lighting, and a very comprehensive menu. There's bar seating and booths, but overall the spot is pretty small. It's really neat! I ordered two drinks. I got Kenny's World Famous Pickle Martini and the champagne of beer cocktail. The pickle martini was definitely pickled! I love all things pickle, so it was a good fit for me. It flows interestingly with the vermouth- it was different but not a bad different! I really liked the champagne of beer cocktail for a couple reasons. It gave me summer brew vibes which I love, and it had aperol in it (which is my fav). It went down easy and smooth- I loved it! This is a great date night spot or for something casual. Really racist environment. First time coming here and will never be back and will definitely not recommend others to come to this establishment. Came with some friends--some got drinks, some didn't and we were playing pool. Towards the end of our first (and only game) an employee that was sitting and drinking at a table aggressively came up to us and said we have to leave and that we are loitering, because all of us didn't buy drinks and that her and her friends (other employees sitting and drinking on the job) wanted to play. Totally understand different rules in different establishments but she was so rude and that rule doesn't make sense if some of us already bought drinks. Also, a black guy got kicked out right when we got there and he was yelling "They are racist!" Our fault for not listening to him tbh. Last day of Black History month, too!! I went to Kenny's Upstairs as part of a mini bar hop for my 21st birthday. It was a monday night, so it wasn't hoppin', but there was a small crowd of fun and young folks. It's super hip, and reminded me of bars in LA where I go to school. Going upstairs to enter the bar made it feel like an underground speakeasy or something. The decor is fresh but nostalgic, with plenty of seating, a large bar, and a pool table. The bouncer and bartender were both friendly and professional. The speciality drinks were not only unique and innovative, but actually tasted really good!! Clean and private restrooms were a bonus. I'll preface this by saying it was opening weekend (Saturday night) and I'm sure some of the kinks will get worked out, but the initial experience was not the best. I'm a 90s kid, I went through the emo/screamo phase, but I was not expecting it in a place that is trying to present itself as a "lounge." So, off the hop, the blasting screamo music threw me off the vibe of what I was expecting. IMHO, some "calm vibes" music would make more sense until you want it to shift to "club vibes" with the DJ booth in the corner. Seating is limited, of course. Lots of those left without a seat congregated around the bar, which made it harder to get a drink, or anyone behind the bar's attention. My girlfriend got one of the cocktails, which was just OK for the high-end pricing they had. Bathroom situation was a bit of a cluster, long line, toilet seat was hanging on by a thread, and wasn't the right size for the bowl. I give it a 3/5 because the space is very cool and there's plenty of potential for what it can be, but the execution is just off right now. We may return at a later date to see if any changes were made, maybe a less busy time, but as it sits, we weren't very inspired for a return visit. read more
