I took my 2020 Jeep Cherokee to Tim's because I had to jump the battery to get it started. I received a call later from Tim. He told me the Jeep needed a new battery. Tim told me it would be $489.00. Although I thought that was too high a price, I told Tim okay, because my wife needed her car. When I arrived to get the Jeep, I handed Tim $500.00 cash at which time Tim said it would cost me $540.00. He said he forgot to add tax. It didn't sound right. I asked Tim if he gave discounts for cash and he said no. He said his bank charges him 1.5 percent per deposit he makes!! I was shocked at the whole story he gave me, but I had no choice, accept to pay. Obviously, I will never go back to Tim's Automotive again. I will let you the reader try to figure out how $489.00 got to $540.00 and how a bank would charge anything, let alone 1.5 percent interest per deposit. read more

I have hat the pleasure of doing business with him for year. family owned and operated business that caters to new and return customers. I have had cars in with severe issues to brake and oil changes. I have spent thousands of dollars with this company and refer them because they ARE honest people. These are some of the nicest people I've ever known and I don't agree with the negativity some of their unhappy customers are spreading here. I'll just say this... don't believe everything you read and take the negatives with a grain of salt. Chances are if you go here you will drive away repaired. Chances are that if you're on a tight budget they will TRY to help. Chances are that if they at fault for something THEY did, they will fix it with no issues AT ALL. I don't take my car anywhere else because I value Tim's 50+ years experience. I value the family business and I support their work habits and customer service ethics. read more

Took my son's Jeep here to get fixed - and it needed a new Coil Pak. Not only did they charge far more than what I should have paid - but I found out that I paid for an OEM part that I never got. The Jeep still was not running right and it took another mechanic to tell me that I didn't get the Delphi part I paid for. Took it back for them to make it right (which I had to threaten to cancel my credit card charge) - and they feigned ignorance when I called them on their scam. They did replace the part the 2nd time - but it still did not run right. A 3rd mechanic later - found out they tightened the coil pak so hard they cracked it. So - lots of money later - the Jeep is fixed (by someone else). Also - the owners mother hung up on me purposefully. Bottom line - these guys have no idea what they are doing, they are dishonest at best and rude. Avoid them at all costs. read more

I was waiting in the lobby a quote while an old gentleman was arguing with the owner about a repair that didn't last. The owner said it was customers fault because he chose aftermarket parts. The owner kicked the older man out and he was refusing to leaving holding onto the doorway until the owner finally pushed him so hard he fell down and hurt himself, ambulance was called. My 8 year old daughter had to watch this. True story. read more

I had exhaust issues fixed by them six months ago and the problems came back. I tried to go in three days in a row and all they wanted me to do was wait. I just wanted them to look to see what the problem was and what it would cost. It would've taken them 15 minutes. Instead they told me two hours they told me three hours they told me the next day they told me the next day. I would not recommend the shop as they do not care about previous customers. I decided I wasn't going to wait any longer and went to another company. It seemed they really didn't care. Don't go to the shop their customer service sucks read more

I used to have Tim's work on my vehicles for years, but within the last 2 years the workmanship has gone from bad too dishonest at Tim's. I had a brake job on my front brakes that lasted 15,000 miles took the car to competition they claimed the brakes were never touched for at least 35,000 miles. I would have Tim's fix the problem but warranty had run out, it was over 24 months. I had a serpentine belt replaced at Tim's and it lasted for only 6 months. What's sad is my Father and myself had always did business with Tim's but not anymore. The employees lately don't know how to fix a problem on any vehicle it could be an electrical or mechanical problem and it's like they are dumbfounded. The sad reality is if you need to get your vehicle repaired do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

DO NOT GO THERE! I was fairly certain that my car had a leaking water pump, I even told the mechanic that I thought that my water pump was the issue. The mechanic called back and said that it was a radiator leak. After I paid $700 for a new radiator, I took my car home and discovered it was still leaking from the water pump!!. I went immediately back to the shop and let them know my car was not fixed. They even tried to show me the old radiator and there was no leak from it or crack. They put a radiator in my car and that wasn't the issue. They didn't offer to make it right and when I asked for a refund or discounted services to fix the car since I cannot drive it like this, they refused. No integrity. read more

These people are hacks. They left my hood open on a 900 dollar brake job...my oil filter was left loose...leading to 2 quarts low in my vehicle. When I returned to have them correct the oil mistake, I was shouted at in the parking lot! What a joke...if I could give negative stars I would. read more

This business just lost a long-time customer (20 years) because of $14!!! Over the years, I have spent thousands of $$$ on repairs and oil changes in his shop, but will never go back again. Recently, I went in for an oil change, presented a $22.99 coupon, and waited an hour. When the car was finished, my bill came to $36.91. When I questioned the higher amount, he told me the cost was more because my car needed synthetic oil, something I didn't know because it was a new car, and he did not tell me when I presented the coupon. He said on the other side of the coupon was $4 off synthetic, which is what he charged. I told him he should have told me that synthetic oil was needed, and it would cost more, before he did the oil change. He refused to honor the lower price, resulting in him losing a long-time customer over a lousy $14. It's not really about the money, but it is about the principle! Very honest repair shop. My leased vehicle was leaking windshield washer fluid, and I got an estimate at another repair shop up the street. They told me that it's an easy fix and will cost $75 for the repair (an hours worth of labor). I decided to get a second opinion and stopped in at Tim's. They were able to tell me exactly what was going on (the part was defective) and temporarily fixed the problem, but also told me to take it back to the dealership as it should be covered under warranty. He did not charge me for this. I will definitely be back if I ever need anything again! read more

I was looking for a new repair shop and based on the other reviews I decided to give Tim's a try. I needed the u-joints replaced on my Jeep. I did my research beforehand and I knew what was involved in the repair and had a good idea of what parts cost and how much time was involved. Happy to say that my vehicle was fixed same day, I was charged a fair price and there were no surprises, pressure tactics or upselling involved. It's been a few weeks and no side-effects have popped up. Very happy so far and I will definitely be back. read more

Not sure about their honesty @ repairs, quality of work, or prices - never got to experience that because their customer service was so bad! My car blew a power steering hose pulling into the parking lot at work. I immediately looked for local shops in the Utica/Shelby area - 2nd call was to Tim's with my initial question: "I need PS hose, I don't live in the area - will you be able to fix the car today?" I was told "Yes-provided we can get the part from Dealer - let us call and we'll call back". 10 min later I was called back and drove my car there. Again I asked - "you will be able to fix this today, right?" - again was told "sure". by 2pm I called to check - "we haven't gotten to it yet" - so I explained to one of the owners this time "I don't live around here - I would need to make arrangements, will you be able to get the car done?" She said - "we've been playing catch-up all day, I can put you to the front of the line" - I told her that my ride was leaving at 3:30 - I could wait in their lobby til it's done. I got there at 4pm - car was not even looked at - they told me, "we won't get to it today." What was even more frustrating was seeing a car in the first bay that was not in their lot when I dropped my car off that morning. HEY - MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY TO UNDER-PROMISE AND OVER-DELIVER VS. LETTING PEOPLE DOWN WITH SHALLOW PROMISES! I took my keys and drove the car home...I will fix it myself this weekend and save myself some money. read more
