We have had The Collision Shop repair our cars over the years and highly recommend them. They take a great deal of pride in their workmanship and it shows. Every repair they've done for us was seamless. Their pricing is extremely reasonable, which helps when one of your daughters hits something like a snow bank made of ice when she's learning to drive and you don't go through insurance. Trust me on this one. I doubt anyone can beat their pricing. This shop is extremely efficient and they get the job done fast! I've gone to other places where it took a month to get the car back--never the case at The Collision Shop! I trappreciate their professionalism and friendly service. We brought our Ford fusion here for a damaged side mirror and they did a great job at a reasonable price. very courteous too. So We brought in another car that had some damage after a side swipe incident that resulted in a noise whenever the door was opened/closed that would have cost thousands at a dealership body shop where they would have wanted to replace the panel but this place was able to bump it out so well I couldnt even tell where the damage was. read more

They get a solid 5 from me! In November of 2008, I let my 17 year old daughter drive my car...big mistake. Next thing I know, she rear ends someone and causes, according to my dealer, $4,600 worth of damage!!...(everyone was ok, thank goodness) I took it here since the dealership body shop personnel was generally indifferent and holier than thou acting, so I shopped around and got a quote that was $1,600 less - and the work is immaculate! Disclaimer: I have yet to experience their full service for a crashed or banged up vehicle. I have been to this collision shop twice for some really minor things on my car and the owner has always been really accommodating. In fact at one time he saved me about $10 by doing a quick fix for free and that type of customer service is great. I finally actually have some real damage to my car and this is the only shop I am going to go to. Will probably do an update after I got the full service fix from them. read more

Honestly, i'm very disappointed. I came here with my car that had some front damage. I wanted it to be FIXED, not the parts REPLACED. I'm not sure what his name is, but the Indian gentleman did not help me at all, and he kept saying that I did not pay for the car to be 100% fixed, only for the parts to be replaced and put on. What kind of collision shop doesnt FIX the car!? If i'm paying for my car to be fixed, then it should be fixed. My bumper doesn't seat correctly. It keeps sticking out and wont go back in. The gentleman said that "it's because the car was damaged", but the damage should have been replaced and fixed? To make things better, i took it to a friend of mine to check it out and upon opening the hood was 3 screws, im assuming for the bumpers? plastics? something? Terrible service. read more

Prior to visiting The Collision Shop, I stopped at 3 other shops to get quotes. Ed at the Collision Shop was the best! Professional, very fair and got the work done in 2 days for my lease turn-in. Also, fixed something on the inside of my car at no charge! After giving me my quote, he told me I could have 10% off or a rental car, wow! I chose the rental car which was a brand new Toyota Rav. This guy is dishonest. At first he said the cost will be 1500 but when insurance give a total of 2500 he said it will cost that amount. The back rare was not fixed well the trunk looks like it 's open. I had to send car back again. Too expensive and I do not recommend him unless you like to be ripped off. He did took care of the deductible. But our insurance went up more because he charged us a lot. Dishonest that is the word that best describe them. read more

I had taken my car here and the price went up from the original quote they asked my insurance company for more money to replace my passenger side door, after 3 weeks of having my car I get it back the door rattles and it is not align right also the fender is not align right and there are bubbles in my paint there was dust inside of my car and the arm rest now has a big scratch that was not there when I took my car to them. I still have owe them money, but I don't think they should get it they should write off what I still owe them so I can take it to a place to have it fixed right. I was told by several people not to take here. Should have listen to them. I am willing to take them to small claims if need be. read more

Very professional and worked well with my insurance company. The repair took a couple days longer than expected because more damages were discovered underneath the exterior so additional parts need to be ordered . But that's normal in all my body shop experiences. I work for the Big Three on the FESM so I understand all the work was required. First let me say that although I have researched on Yelp for years, I just now joined, specifically to be able to review The Collision Shop. Yesterday, this place saved me $840 !! How did they do that?! Allow me to explain...I just received a new license plate for my 2008 Toyota Avalon. (btw, the State of Michigan has a new law requiring that a plate must be replaced if it is 10 yrs. old, so it wasn't my decision to purchase a "fancy" new plate, it was mandatory!) In attempting to remove the old plate (rusted bolts - WD40 wasn't much help) the hole where the bolt attaches to the bumper cracked. And the other bolt was impossible for me to remove. I went to the local dealership, and they referred me to "their" body shop, which is not specifically theirs, it does body shop work on all makes and models. I drove over there immediately. Since the plate on my Toyota (which is in really good overall shape) is attached to the bumper itself, initially the body shop estimator/advisor said they would have to replace the bumper! However, instead they could probably do it a more economical way, but it would be a "one-time fix" so if/when removing the plate next time it would be the same problem. Estimate of doing it the less expensive way: $850.00 I was stunned! Realllly? To be able to fix this so my license plate is attached?! And they would have to keep my car for 3-4 days! Come on, that is ridiculous! I said I would have to think about this. I did more than think about it...I got mad. Yelp to the rescue! I found The Collision Shop in Troy. Ed took one look at it, said fixing it shouldn't be a problem, and went to get one of his team to look at it. Immediately they agreed they could fix it right then, and they did! Ed said the charge would be $10.00 Yes...ten dollars! A couple of new, larger bolts, a piece on the back of each to hold in place. The tech even came out to show me the new bolts before he attached them, and asked me if I thought they looked okay! My car was finished in MINUTES, they even put on the new frame I had brought in with me. I told Ed I found them on Yelp and I said would be giving them a well-deserved rave review! The Collision Shop does things the RIGHT way. They are honest do adhere to a Code of Ethics. (Obviously, unlike that dealer body shop...no wonder people don't trust those.) I come in contact with a lot of people, I will recommend Ed and The Collision Shop to everyone! read more

An accident damaged my rear bumper and taillight. I went to three different places to get an estimate for the damages. The Collision Shop was over $350 cheaper than the estimate I received from the dealership. My biggest fear of the repairs I had was that the new paint on the new bumper would not match the rest of the car. Ed assured me that it will match. After the repairs were made I was amazed! I don't know about the Collision Shop in Troy but let me tell you about the one in Waterford! Did shoddy work, had to bring it back, I should have known the day I picked up my car the gentleman who did the paint job was standing there with a brush and a jar of paint touching up a spot!! all the paint peeled from around the lights, hood not on right, THEN after investigating find out the hood, grill (SPRAY PAINTED NOW RUSTING) TAKEN FROM THE JUNK YARD!!! Went back twice, they said sure bring it back we will fix it, I told them it would be awhile to get transportation back and forth to work, went back in December, guess what CLOSED UP SHOP AND MOVED. Worst experience I EVER had, I shoud have known when the "dude" had to drive to Farmington to pick up the check from the insurance co. before he would release my car I was in trouble...
