What an iconic place. Now I'll admit I might look like a soft hand city boy, but Americana runs through these veins. I've seen this place for as long as I can remember, but normally only partake in cigars when gifted or with somebody more knowledgeable in the experience. Recently, I was gonna get a gift for a family member and decided to stop in and lean on their expertise in the selection process. Straight out of the gates, I know I love this place with a warning sign, letting potential thieves, know that both patrons and employees may be carrying. The iconic wooden statue out front and even better the big brass antique register up front. Now I don't know much about what they had going on there, but I can tell you I have quite a feeling this is a gem of a shop and being there about 15 years as I was told it seems that they have a great customer base Steered towards some pipe tobacco they gave me the option of bulk or more bespoke tins. Where are the tins go for multiple times the price of the standard bulk. They could've easily taken one look and up sold me to something five times the price but instead they recommended something that they would smoke a fraction of the price. Stopped in here as I was looking for a local cigar shop in my area and found Tims Cigars. Upon walking in I loved the old time feeling of this place with a great selection of cigars. The guy working that day if I remember right was named Steve and he was awesome. I'm somewhat new to cigar smoking so I wanted to look around and he had no issues with that. I ended up picking up an Oliva Serie V. Definitely will be going back to this place. Just glad I found a good B&M shop like this within 3-5 mins of our house. read more

When a customer is in front of you asking for help, it is not good customer service to answer a phone and walk away helping them leaving you hanging. Honestly I was excited to go here, specifically made the trip, and was hoping to pick up some great stuff. I love Tim's. I discovered this place by word of mouth, and it has become my go to place for pipe tobacco, pipe accessories, and premium cigars. You walk in, and the environment is so incredibly chill. Usually some guys hanging out, smoking cigars. Customer service is fantastic, and they usually know better of what I want than I do. I've tried so many different pipe tobaccos and cigars from these guys. Describe the flavor you're looking for, strong, mild, sweet, you name it. These guys know so much about their products. Wall to wall shelves covered in fine cigars. Complete with a vintage looking wooden Indian out front. Decor is vintage reminding us of a rich history of cigar love. Customer service is fantastic securing a repeat visit from me. Small sitting area outside. What I liked most was the unpretentious nature of the proprietor and the store itself. Comfortable, friendly and well stocked store! About a year ago, I asked a friend if he knew of a good cigar that "didn't stay with me for hours"(mild). I was sent to see Tim. After asking me how much I wanted to spend, Tim walked around the store, plucking 3 or 4 sticks from his stock. They ALL hit the mark (this guy knows cigars!) One in particular was my favorite and has become my 'go-to' cigar. Fast forward to today. Tim and I have spent many hours together, smoking cigars and talking about life in general. Sometimes there's a small group and sometimes it's just the two of us. I always feel welcome and really love the personal and comfortable atmosphere! I'm still 'stuck' on my go-to stick, but Tim's recommendations have me playing the field! So many cigars, so little time! read more

Hubs and I stopped by on the way out of town after a lunch with relatives. I just happened to pop "cigar stores" into Google, and we were less than half a mile away. As someone said already -- a great, old school tobacconist. Like a slice of the old west, the store is homey, comfortable, and the goods are right there on the shelves, humidor be damned. A younger gent helped us out, Tim was nowhere to be found, but he was friendly and helpful. What more could you ask? Selection was good, with all the accessories one could need. We'll certainly drop by again the next time we're in the area and in need of a few more specimens for the humidor. read more

Great old-school feeling Tobacconist that is down-to-earth and offers a wide selection of the world's great cigars. Pipes and pipe tobaccos too! GREAT prices and the guys who run the joint are very friendly and welcoming. Great location too, given how close it is to McMennamins Edgefield, which has a cigar bar (Little Red Shed). Really good cigar shop, one of very few these days. Their house brand is quite good, very peppery full flavor cigar. Humidification and ventilation could both be a skosh better, but overall one of the best cigar shops I've been to in the Portland area. Very reminiscent of traditional shops with smoking lounges in the Washington DC area, or Atlanta. If you enjoy cigars and are in the area, I highly recommend this shop.
