Ending 2021 with a review of this AWESOME company! I can't say enough about the great service Laie…read moreVanilla Company (LVC) gave me. I ordered vanilla beans and a vanilla kit at the end of November. A day later I wanted to order a few more kits, so contacted LVC and owner, Saili, let me know that I could pay for them and they would include them in the original order. I received a notification that my original order was mailed out (the first order was the only one noted). I'm not sure why, but the postal person did not deliver them (it was storming on delivery day, unsure if he felt it was too wet to leave for me). I received a notification that it was returned to the post office and I immediately rescheduled delivery. It was labeled as such on the tracking that it was supposed to be redelivered. The redelivery date came and went. Since I was using these for Christmas gifts, I reached out to LVC just to make sure both of my orders were included in the same box since the tracking info only listed the first order products. I thought that maybe if not everything was in there, I could have LVC mail the second order in an effort to get some gifts on time. Saili let me know everything was in the box. Saili also tried to call the post office but they did not answer (thank you Saili for trying!). Just before Christmas I got an email that my delivery was received. I was so excited thinking my box was dropped off. To my surprise, the box was delivered back to LVC! I contacted Saili and asked what my options were. Unfortunately the holidays are so busy I could not make it out to Laie to pick up and that's when the most unexpected thing happened. Saili offered to drop it off at my house. Aloha spirit alive and well! Thank you again Laie Vanilla and Saili! I see other reviews noting a vanilla tour - would love to do this one day. Can't wait to get my vanilla beans marinating! Support local!

I learned so many things, and found it all very interesting! The farm itself is beautiful and enjoyable to walk through and take pictures. The plants grow in shade so it's shady but it is a bit humid but not uncomfortable. At the end of the tour we were given cutting to grow our own vanilla bean vine, and were taught how to care for the plant. Honestly, a great way to spend your afternoon!! Grabbed a vanilla extract kit they sell down the road, a perfect way to remember this beautiful day!! Highly highly recommend it!!

They ensured everyone got to see turtles and in fact they headed a participant back just when we were being called back to the boat after discovering he didn't get to see turtles. There was plenty of snacks and drinks. Gears were complete - eye gear (with or without prescription which was helpful to those who wear glasses), and mouth pieces. The attention to detail was superb and attention to safety and ensuring everyone had fun was commendable!

As first-time snorkelers traveling with a child, our experience did not align with those expectations. Equipment distribution was poorly handled. Masks were handed out with little to no instruction, and basic questions were met with a rude and dismissive attitude. Overall communication and service were lacking. Once in the water, guidance was minimal and inconsistent. The experience felt rushed and disorganized, with limited support for guests who were new to snorkeling. The tone and treatment we received also made us uncomfortable as Asian guests. After sharing feedback, the company clarified in writing that they do NOT advertise or position this as a beginner-friendly snorkeling tour. Based on both that clarification and our experience, I would strongly recommend that beginners or families looking for clear instruction and attentive guidance consider other operators. Sharing this to help future guests set accurate expectations before booking.

It doesn't get much better than this, folks…read more My friend and I recently did a "Stars Above Hawaii" experience at the Four Seasons Hotel - and let me tell you, it was magical. A beautiful and relaxing way to end a lovely day. Many people will rave about Greg's super cool telescope - and it IS indeed awesome. We saw planets, galaxies, and wonderful stars during our time together! (Most impressive - we saw the rings of Saturn in ways I've never seen before!) I would argue that Greg's coolest tool is his *laser pointer* - which feels like it's from ~the future~. Greg's laser pointer has the unique ability to light up the night sky and point out all of the stars, contestations, planets, and more. Why is this so impressive? Because it eliminates the "old fashioned" way of star gazing - where someone says "do you see that one thing next to that other thing?" Here, Greg literally whips out his lightsaber and shines it into the night sky - and you see EXACTLY what he is talking about. It makes the stories much more enjoyable. And it makes you feel much smarter, too! I enjoyed Greg's stories about space - and his inclusion of Hawaiian star terminology. The next time you are in Hawaii - do yourself a favor and check this out. It'll be a night of aloha you won't soon forget.

Rating is partly my fault but the complete lack of communication from their side is irritating. I…read moreemailed and called and left a voicemail and got nothing back. Enjoy my money, I guess.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I hope you all get a driver self-nicknamed "Short"…read more We booked a Pearl Harbor tour which included a visit to the Dole pineapple gift shop as well as a drive around the island (with a few stops and drivebys). Our driver nicknamed "Short" was a great driver as well as a native who knew the island and all it's customs, history, and it's little fun facts and quirks. Short is also a life philosopher. I won't spoil it should you get him, but he has a good way of keeping things light hearted but really makes you think about why the world and it's constant feuding is the way it is. The trip started sharply at 8AM (hotel lobby pickup) and after picking up a few passengers at different hotels, we were off. The Pearl Harbor tour and the ride over was excellent. While I knew a lot of what he was narrating, he goes into the back story of why Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Much different than what you probably learned in history class. Nothing excuses the Japanese military government for doing what they did and he's not an apologist for them, but he laid out the facts leading up to it. Very informative. The movie at the Pearl Harbor center was well done by the Park Service, but we didn't have much time to look around much after that as we needed to keep to schedule. A few passengers were a full 30 minutes late, but he didn't give them the riot act but instead gently and jokingly chided them a little. It was pretty funny! The Dole pineapple gift shop stop was all about buying stuff, so if you've done it you'll be bored. But for first timers, get the Pineapple Freeze at the back of the store. We stopped by three parks and beaches which included the North Shore, a park whose name I forget, and Hanauma Bay. We highly recommend PPF. Just remember as part of a tour, be courteous and be on time. Write it down, put it in your phone, whatever it takes to keep everyone on the tour on track!
