First time dining at the Tin Can Cafe in Clearwater and have to say it was a pleasant experience. Restaurant is a seat yourself style which is nice that you can choose between a booth, table or counter seating. Craig was our server and he was excellent in helping us with everything to make our visit great. Food was brought out in good time, looked great and the flavor was amazing as well!! They have a great menu selection for Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch!! Great job to the kitchen staff as well for their skills!!

In the downtown Clearwater area for a Dr visit, this place looked interesting, had great ratings and was nearby. Plus our Dr was between breakfast and lunch so a brunch spot was perfect. Found Tin Can easily, parking a bit tight but ok. This a small homey diner and obviously very popular with locals. They were very busy at early lunch but we lucked into the only open table for two. We were brought menus and waters right away. My wife chose the Waffle with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream and chocolate. I decided on the Spanish Omelette with beef, onions, jalapeños and cheese. It was a bit for our food but understanding with the number of diners present. When our food arrived, the plates were huge. Mine came first and my wife wanted to share, so I cut off a section and put on my toast plate for her. It also came with salsa and sour cream, that the waitress forgot. After a couple reminders, I asked another server and he brought salsa, but I never got the sour cream. By now it was cooling off so I ate my 3/4 portion. And my wife shared 1/4 of her amazing Waffle. Both meals were excellent and huge portions. I guess because with locals they do tend to chat with the waitstaff. Not a huge problem but I suggest late breakfast or lunch to avoid the crowds. Food 5, Service 4, Ambiance 4.

In town with the gang and we couldn't decide if we wanted lunch or breakfast. Well let's go some there where they serve both. I had a party melt and she had a Cuban sandwich. Both were delicious. I'm not a fan of rye bread but it was a perfect compliment with the patty melt. It was a nice and quaint spot. The service was great and the breakfast options were huge portions and looked delicious. We'll need to come back and try some breakfast.

Wow! Delicious breakfast potatoes, and the Eggs Benedict was ON POINT! I ordered it with regular bacon and it was awesome. The coffee was okay. Could use a little more strength, but the service was great so that's a huge bonus. Craig was our server and he was helpful and kind. Will return to this place for breakfast every time I'm in Clearwater, FL. This place is not fancy, but it is good- Worth every penny.

Famous locals traditional "hole in the wall" breakfast /lunch joint. Pork chops and burgers for breakfast? Yes please! Kids loved it. Parents loved it. U can get anything on menu anytime. Don't skip the skillets or the tin can wild.

My wife and are are dyed-in-the wool New Yorker's, so we're very particular about our food. We were looking for an affordable place to eat breakfast when I found this place on Yelp. We both got a steak and potatoes bowl and it was unbelievably good. The meat was seasoned and cooked so well. I was so impressed with it, we went back to this place two other times (not to mention the friendly and attentive service). Leaving Clearwater only became harder after eating from this great spot. read more

Only 3 stars for me because my order was wrong. Which is why I never order anything to go, that and I always feel I am shorted on food. My family's order was correct and they seem to have liked it. Other than the fact that I'm on vacation and bit cooking everyone's did to order, it was just ok. The more I write the less stars I want to give it. Something positive, the people were friendly. Had a nice conversation with a local couple. read more

We were in the downtown Clearwater area, and this little family owned restaurant popped up on my Yelp app. I probably have passed this place hundreds of times without noticing it, so it was nice to find. It's a very small and simple restaurant with a pretty big breakfast/brunch menu. There isn't much room inside, so I can see it being crowded during peak times. The staff was friendly and quick, though the food did take a little longer to come out even though it wasn't as busy. Though, the food along with the fresh coffee was delicious which is why I'm giving it four stars instead of three. If you're driving by the downtown Clearwater area and are hungry, stop in for a bite here, you won't be disappointed. read more

Having just moved to the Clearwater area in July 2012 and living like a gypsy for the past year and a half, I was in search of a nice little local breakfast place. The Tin Can Cafe was my second place to try and now I just go back there. Their Steak and Egg breakfast is the best deal in town. The steak is a 7 oz Angus sirloin that is pretty good.They cook it to order and a medium rare comes out medium rare. I've been to steakhouses that can't seem to get that right! The service is prompt and friendly, and coffee is refilled pretty much as long as you're sitting there. I was there today for about an hour and a half, chatting with locals, and I didn't have to ask for a refill once. A great local find! read more

Such a pleasant surprise. If I lived in Clearwater this would become a definite weekly visit. There's not a lot of seating, but I think in this case it adds to the charm. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. I had a bacon and cheese omelette with home fries. The home fries were perfect. I wanted to order more. The omelette was also very very good. If you live in Clearwater, check this place out. If you're visiting, stop by one morning for breakfast. You can always get it to go if they don't have any seats. read more

A little quaint diner with excellent service and phenomenal food. Everybody knows each other here! My server was very attentive but not overbearing and I received my meal in less than 15 minutes of ordering and it was one of the most delicious breakfast I've had in a while and I'm a traveling sales rep, so I eat a lot on the road. Definitely a great breakfast spot to try in Clearwater. read more

We were in town on vacation and thankfully found this place on Yelp. We arrived on Saturday morning around 8:30 and didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a table. Yes, this place is small, but it feels cozy, not crowded (mainly since I think because people waiting for tables have to wait outside since there is no room inside for them). I wish I had gotten the name of our server, since she was great. Food was fantastic. We got eggs, French toast, chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and home fries. All were a hit. No kids menu, but our server was more than accommodating to offer us one pancake or one piece of French toast (which wasn't listed as a menu choice). Food came out hot, fresh and quickly. Since the place was so small (about 10 tables total) I would have thought we would have been rushed out and I didn't feel that at all. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here again if I was in the area. read more

I went here off a recommendation when I was visiting Clearwater Florida. It was ok. The place was very small. However, we got seated relatively quickly. We sat at the counter area. The staff was also very nice and attentive. I also really liked the atmosphere. I wish I could give the Tin Can Cafe 3.5 stars. My issue was not with the staff or the restaurant atmosphere. I was just not that overly impressed with the food. I got the Hungry Mans Breakfast. It was not that the food was not good, but I was just not that overly impressed. One issue that I had was that I asked for cheese over my home fries. The cheese was not even melted on the homefries. Lastly, it is a nice local spot if you are in the area. read more

I have been coming here for almost 10 years. The same family staff have watched my children grow up! They are beyond friendly and helpful! Only about 12 tables in the whole place so be prepared to wait a few minutes on the weekends in peak hangover time (10am-12pm). Also have about 6-8 seats at the bar top too! Their biscuits and gravy are my recommendation, some of the best in the area! read more

Delicious! This breakfast/brunch restaurant is the best! The blueberry & chocolate chip pancakes are homemade and just like Mom makes them. Tuna salad and homemade beef vegetable soup phenomenal! The best breakfast spot in Clearwater and probably a top 3 breakfast spot in the country honestly. Bacon and cheese omelette with home fries fried hard. I come here every day basically with my brother and it's literally better every day. Fresh coffee, fresh ingredients, great people. Even before we were regulars the family that runs it knew our names and really go out of their way to make you feel like your eating breakfast in their home. My favorite place to eat! read more

Just moved to Clearwater and my boyfriend and I are already making our face known at the Tin Can Cafe. This place is a total dive restaurant, hole in the wall. Family owned, and family operated, this place has got some great food for it's buck. I love their pancakes, and croissant sandwiches. This is definatley I place where the locals go. This place probably only seats 35 people. But if you're new to Clearwater, or here on vacation. Please, check this place out. They have steak and eggs for $4.99. WHAT A DEAL!! I've been here dozens of times. Great service, great good. Food always arrives quickly and the staff is always friendly and fast. My favorite is the steak skillet. It's served with ribeye steak with eggs, peppers and onions, and potatoes. Very good! Also the pork chop is excellent. This is always my go-to breakfast spot in Clearwater. The prices and portions are great too. read more

I highly recommend this small restaurant! I had been here on July Fourth, thus it was quite busy. There were fireworks. There were many people at the beach either playing volleyball or swimming. It was very fun. The servers were friendly and eager to serve customers.

The service we had was really good, one person in my party didn't care for their drink so they sent it back and they made them another one at no additional charge. I split the margarita pizza and the Caesar salad with one other person, and it was plenty of food for the two of us, and we even took some pizza home.

I recently visited this establishment to have breakfast with my wife because I heard it was a wonderful place to eat. Great food, courteous staff and so I went expecting a wonderful meal. However, as My wife and I sat there I noticed a cockroach crawling up the wall. Now I understand we live in Florida and bugs are a regular thing so I really didn't think much of it. However, I began to notice more cockroaches running around on the floor and to my astonishment I felt as though the cockroaches were the staff and half expected the cockroaches to serve us our food. As far as I know they were probably cooking our meal. It was so infested with them that I payed for our meal, which we did not get nor eat and left to go to my house and take a shower because I felt really dirty. So if you enjoyed that kids movie where the rat was the chef then go ahead and have some cockroaches cook your meal and dine with them. I will not recommend this establishment to anyone including the homeless. read more

NEVER EVER EAT HERE!!!! This is the worst place I've been and will never come back to this cockroach invested hole in the wall. The owner is rude and a degrading sexist pig that looks like he never took a shower in months with his grundy greasy hair. The chef obviously got his culinary skills by dumpster hunting because the eggs and steak tasted awful and was so tough a jackhammer couldn't drill it's way through it. I suggest spending your money elsewhere and avoid eating here! read more

My husband and I love this tiny diner because it's charming and the food is what you want from a diner - quick, good, and doesn't break the bank. We would go here more often for breakfast but it's very tiny and fills up fast and people are not in a hurry to leave so the wait can be long. Still, it's just a local cutie that everyone should try at least once. read more

I've lived here in the area since the early 70's and went here for the first time last weekend. I was surprised that I've never heard of it. Had the steak and eggs and it was really good! Cant wait to go back again. Perfect restaurant for breakfast. read more
