Well got a mixed review for this place. Stop by the other night got a ribeye sandwich. For the price it was great. A good meal that was very satisfying. Now it breakfast time. Ordered the western omelette. Small is the word that comes to mind. The grits was on the verge of being cold. The toast was like it was cooked yesterday, cold. They do have plenty of parking for big rigs. Always a plus for me. Lord help ya if they get busy. You will wait Ok breakfast my not be their thing but lunch and dinner is most definitely their thing. Well, it was 1:40 PM on a Tuesday afternoon, and the parking lot was full. Thats usually a very good sign. We were hungry so pulled in with high expectations. Plate lunches stopped at 2:00 so my husband made another choice but I thought I'd ask. Waitress said they were out of two of the sides I wanted so I order a hamburger and a baked potato, which was listed as one of their side choices. My husband ordered the patty melt and tator babies. We waited about 45 minutes for our food and my baked potato was at best room temperature (butter wouldn't melt) and the hamburger bun was straight from the package. The burger was hand patted, thick, and good. The patty melt was average and tator babies delicious. When my husband asked for ketchup the young lady asked, "Is one enough?" Not being sure if she meant one package or what my husband responded two please and she brought two condiment cups full. We feel like they must have been very short staffed since we waited so long for our food and had to ask for drink refills. Then we went to pay without waiting for a bill since we had a four hour drive ahead of us and were told we couldn't pay where we were but to go to another room. We did and then the computer system wasn't working so the young lady asked if she could just take my card and go back to where we had been originally to run it. Strange. We love this place! After my Mother passed in 2021, this is kind of our go-to place to enjoy some of that good home cooking. My Mother loved to eat at Tin Lizzy and loved that good ole home cooking. The waitresses/waiters we have had have always been friendly and have given us good service. We can go late in the evening and we always feel welcome. The breakfast is served every evening and something we enjoy. We also enjoy going on Sundays and getting their specials. Give them a try if you haven't already. read more

As a connoisseur of omelets, I can honestly say that the Philly omelet was one of the best omelets I've ever consumed. Highly recommend.

After getting a raved review from a family member we thought let's try it out. First of all they get two stars because the food was better than hospital food. The customer service stunk!!! The guy behind the counter described as a hipster type was rude. My husband asked him "what is in the western omlet?" The employee replied "same thing in every western omlet." Well they vary through out the country. Guess this guy has never left mississippi and noticed that. Not to mention you just told a customer that your omlet is just like any other omlet. So why then would I come here? Why couldn't the employee simply explain what was in there? The omlet came with grits or hash browns. My husband wanted oatmeal instead. He was told no. Really they couldn't even offer an upcharge to switch it. Just no that's all. Customer service is better at fast food. And we all know that service sucks. Food was decent. Like you make at home. But the omlet had the insides all separate ham on one side and then peppers in the middle then tomatoes on the other. That's not how it goes. Why not even them out. They must have never been taught how to make an omlet. For the fact that they had breakfast was the only impressive thing about it. But rude service isn't worth my money. This place was off the beaten path in Mississippi on our way to Memphis. We heard they had good lunch specials and such. When you walked in, it was definitely like walking back in time. The decor was memorabilia from over 50 years ago. There was a nice counter with stools you could order at and a display of cakes and pies in a covered display case. Our waitress was very friendly but she quickly informed us that they were out of catfish, which was the daily special. I was actually looking forward to it, since Mississippi seems to be well known for their catfish. They we were substituting it with pulled pork or hamburger steak. My husband chose the pork and when he asked if the potato salad was fresh/good, the waitress responded, ' well I like it but it is store bought' ....so it's not made fresh on site and he chose mashed potatoes. I opted for the patty melt. It was very delicious. It didn't come with a side. All sides were bought a la carte unless you got the special, it seemed. My husband had catfish with curly fries and side salad. I had the butterfly fried chicken breast with baked potato and side salad. Their salad dressing is homemade and so good. He had thousand island and I had ranch. We shared a piece of homemade chocolate pie that was out of this world. If are ever back in that area, we definitely will stop and eat. Great place for a plate lunch! They have a daily special, and this day it was Chicken and Dressing with Giblet Gravy. Very tasty! Don't think I have ever had Chicken and Dressing, but it was pretty great, and a huge portion. The sides were generous, also. The cornbread was a bit dry, but all-in-all a very good meal. read more

I am from the Delta but now currently residing in Birmingham. The food is okay there. And by okay I mean just OKAY. I'm always craving some good Mississippi cooking. I was passing through West Point and googled "Great food in West Point. Tin Lizzie caught my eye! I looked over the menu and went in my sweats. Our server was very knowledgeable of the food! The Southern charm made me feel really at home. She recommended to Ribeye sandwich, and I can say that is the one the best decisions I've made when it comes to ordering food. So, the sandwich comes out and there sitting on a plate was a perfectly cooked Ribeye cut, slightly crisp around the edge. The server recommended Swiss cheese to make the bites more creamy. The home fries weren't too meaty. Weren't soggy and over greased. Nice flavor! The decor of the restaurant is so retro and vintage. The barstools remind me of a scene from a movie filmed in the 50's at a milkshake bar. I wish I could give 10 stars! You have to have the pie!! PIE! That's another two pages. My husband and I were traveling to Florence, Al from Louisiana and came across this cafe. The parking lot was packed so we knew it must be good. It was very good, nice quaint atmosphere and immediately greeted by a friendly waitress. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. The experience and the staff was horrible. The cashier that took our money did not greet us at all. I know someone that works there he says thay got the Corona has been going around in there for 3 weeks the cooks don't wear face mask wile cooking or Gloves all the times says if thay drop your food on the floor thay will pick it ou and put it back on your plate. Thay also just about two 2 or 3 weeks ago were putting traps out cause of mice or rats and that thay also have Roaches By the salad bar and by the shelf that they set your plates on before the waitresses carry them out. We used to go to this restaurant all the time before it closed, but after it started again, the first time we went there, we probably waited 30 minutes before our waitress took our drink order. We then got our drinks about 20 minutes later, we got our food order taken about 45 minutes later and then got our food about an hour to two hours later. Over all, it was a horrible experience. Every time I've been there so far, it not been as bad, but it was definitely not great. My dad said that he's Been during lunch a couple times, and it wasn't as bad, but I've never been during lunch, so I don't know how it is. read more

Where to start?!?! This place is one of the best in West Point. The food is outstanding, the service is wonderful and the old school trucker vibe is definitely cool. We (my wife and kids) had the sausage omelette, pancakes and the big ham egg and cheese biscuit... all of it tasted great. Everyone was full and it didn't break the bank! We eat at the Tin Lizzie Cafe innWest Point, MS somewhat often. Since their remodel their food has greatly improved. However, this morning three of us went for brunch. It took over an hour to get our food, which was your basic bacon/ham and eggs. After our order was taken and our drinks delivered we never received any service except when they came (over an hour later) and plopped our plates down without a word. We had to go to another table that had not been bussed and steal their butter. None of the three of us had much of our drinks left. The order of eggs were supposed to be over easy but they were hard cooked. The only thing warm on our plates were the eggs. The grits wouldn't even melt the stolen butter!!! We were JUST before walking out the door when our food showed up. When we went to the register to pay the girl asked if we wanted to add the tip to our card's purchase. I asked if we could leave a PENNY. She said she supposed so. We told her how bad our service was and how long we had to wait. She apologized but what good did that do? They certainly didn't offer to make any adjustment on the bill. So, if you want breakfast on the weekend....try somewhere besides The Tin Lizzie. read more
