My family went to eat today. All they received was an appetizer and drinks. When they asked where their food was an hour later. The waitress said " oops I forgot to put your order in." She didn't offer to take the appetizers off the bill or the drinks. This was their first visit, they will not be returning. After hearing such good reviews, this is not what they expected. read more

Found this gem and was shocked it was not on Yelp. Absolutely stunning decor with a delightful menu. This place is located in the former Ritz movie theater and uses movie star photos and 20s bling to accentuate the overall vibe. It is only a few blocks off the main highway in the bustling downtown. The food is decent, but not great. They are clearly trying hard and they have some innovative dishes. The theme is a slightly upscale and new take on southern classics. The butterbean hummus is nice. The poboys are on the small side, which kind of defeats the concept of a poboy. Homemade pickles and pickled onions abound. I enjoy them, but the flavors are strong and will not suit everyone. The smoked salmon muffaletta falls well short of resembling a muffaletta, but is rather more of a gesture in the direction of a muffaletta. The cheese grits do not taste very strongly of cheese. I like the Reuben. The house-made cornbeef has a nice flavor and the sandwich is filling. The slaw is vinegary and delicious. The hamburger patty is fantastic. The ground ribeye adds great flavor. I would advise caution on ordering the hamburger dressed as it is on the menu. The pickled flavors overwhelm the excellent taste of the meat. You might want to order the pickles and onions on the side. The french fries are hand-cut and good. Open for lunch Tuesday through Friday and brunch on Sunday. Definitely worth a visit if you are in West Point. read more

Would have loved to sit down and had lunch here. Waited ten minutes for someone to acknowledge us (we only made eye contact with half of the wait staff running around) waiting for a table. A manager (I'm assuming) walks up and asked us how many people we had. We told her two and she said they weren't sitting anymore people because they were expecting a big party. RIDICULOUSLY GREASY AND SALTY! I'm not one of these people who likes to give 1-star reviews but honestly my experience here was awful. I will back up this review with specifics... 1) My sandwich was SOOOOO greasy I couldn't eat it. If you like that, you'll enjoy this place, but I'm not a fan of super-greasy food. Look at the photos online here at Yelp and you'll get the idea that this is rich, greasy food. 2) My sandwich was SOOOOO salty. Others at the table said the same about their food. 3) The jalapeno bread was so fried in butter that I asked for replacement bread that was not fried, so that I could just re-make the sandwich at the table with non-greasy bread. The server brought me a lousy piece of plain white bread. Why would I not want the "fancy" jalapeno bread the second time just because I didn't want it dripping with grease? I asked nicely. Did they not want to waste one more slice of jalapeno bread on me? 4) The lettuce and tomato were practically non-existent. You couldn't see them in the sandwich. I'm not kidding. 5) The club sandwich I ordered says it comes with ham. There was no ham in it. 6) The server touched the water pitcher to the glasses. I don't really want the same sickness as the person with a cold a few tables over. 7) After we received our food, the server didn't check on us for a very long time so I couldn't even ask for replacement bread until others at my table had finished eating half their food. And, after I asked, the single piece of white bread took a long time to come out; I even had to remind the server again for it. By then, the others at my table had finished. 8) The sides (for me and others) were all really rich and greasy. Again, I don't like to give 1-star reviews, but there are too many reasons... greasy food, salty food, ingredients not as on the menu, unsanitary serving of water, slow service, etc. If management wants to address these things, I would gladly re-review, because I'd love to see a local business succeed, but currently this place has a lot of issues to resolve, in my opinion. Again, though, if you like greasy and salty, and you don't care about a water pitcher touching every glass around the restaurant, then you'd honestly probably like this place a lot more than I did. read more

Looking for a place to grab lunch and saw Magnolia's. I had the Deep South Cuban and it was excellent. The bread was just right and the Tasso ham was good with the smoked pork. I had the Brussel sprouts as a side and they were wonderful, too. My wife got the catfish with greens, beans, and Mac & cheese for the kids. The greens were some of the best I have ever had. My wife really liked her fish. We will be coming back! read more
