Preparation is key. There is no wifi and no cell reception. Check in is at the cedar lodge 3 min down highway 140. The hotel has 10 units including a bigger cabin unit. It is right across the street from the beautiful Merced river and it's a nice view to wake up to. The walls are kinda thin I think we heard our neighbors leaving really early in the morning for their hike. The room was clean and smelled fresh like cleaning products. Sheets were clean. We brought our own set of sheets and pillows regardless cuz we're spoiled. Bathroom and kitchen are dated but clean and cozy. Tv was a flat screen which is pretty cool. The other tent cabin lodging I've stayed at (half dome village) had no tv. We got a sweet deal on the room $79 bucks plus tax on hotels.com. Definitely stay at the red bud over the cedar lodge. I've heard nothing but negative reviews and when I was checking in their lobby was full of people complaining that the hotel had its water cut off. Their hot tub/ pool area was also shut down. Red bud was a great stay we are definitely coming back. You can pay $130-$150 and stay at a tent cabin in half dome village with no tv and and mediocre food options. Half dome village is also much more convenient inside the park a 30 min drive from red bud. We opted to save a few bucks and have more in room amenities. It's all about the prep. I feel like I owe it to people who are planning to stay here to show em how to do it right. So many people got blindsided because they didn't plan ahead and they didn't have a great stay like we did. Some tips: -If you want to have a good hot meal after your hike, bring the kitchen and cooking stuff with you. They provide basic pots and pans etc but we preferred to bring our kitchen with us in a small box. They provide small portable stove tops so you can cook. The bbqs were rusty so don't bother with those. Bring some good food and booze. We made a full steak dinner and we're sippin wine living the life. Others who were unprepared ate cold turkey sandwiches from the cedar lodge gift shop. Bring a cooler(s) of ice!!! -bring a blueray disc player or something to connect to the tv (i.e. PlayStation etc..) We we're chillin eating steak watching some Oscar winners -bring booze. Lots of booze. There ain't shit to do out there. -bring your own towels, sheets, etc if you want but the ones they provided were clean enough. We brought our own just in case -there's no wifi so print maps for the park and how to get in and out of the valley ahead of time at home

    View from the log cabin.

We were able to hike in Yosemite using the YARTS bus system ($30 round trip) & came home to a freshly made bed & homemade cookies every night after hiking all day. Liz made us a delicious breakfast at 8:30am (although she did ask if we wanted it earlier) & we caught the YART into the park at 9:15- hiking by 10am. Our hosts were fantastic, the room (top floor) was HUGE & definitely cool- even on a 95 degree day (those other reviews are ridiculous- Liz had no issues keeping us comfortable- in both AC use & shade for breakfast). On the last day of our trip the YART busses didn't show up for our trip back & Ron rescued us from the park late at night (we were literally stranded in Yosemite). I will say If you are in your 20s, looking to party this isn't the place for you. If you are a recluse not wanting to socialize, this isn't the place for you. But If you have 4 kids & plan on leaving them at home- this is totally worth it. In every aspect. My husband & I played scrabble at night with white claws & listened to the river... we slept in... someone else cooked for us...we hiked all day & came home to a cozy bed & friendly faces. Ron & Liz are definitely "chatty" as some have mentioned in other reviews, but you're staying in their home- so we felt it was all apart of the B&B adventure/experience. We will 100% stay here again and recommend it to all of our friends.

Unfortunately, no one has been able to assist me when I call. I was told that I needed to email the restaurant manager, Rachel T., but she has not responded to any of my emails. I also left a voicemail, which has not been returned. What happened today was especially unacceptable. I called and spoke with an assistant manager named Sarah. I explained my frustration and asked whether she could assist me or connect me with the restaurant manager. I also explained that one of the reasons we chose this lodge was because it could accommodate our group and had an on-site restaurant, which is especially convenient when traveling with multiple families and children. Sarah's response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She laughed aloud and said, "You booked here for this restaurant, not to see Yosemite?" I then asked to speak with a manager because her response was completely inappropriate. Before the issue could be addressed, the call was disconnected. After nearly a month of unanswered emails, an unreturned voicemail, and this extraordinarily disrespectful interaction, I am extremely disappointed. Rush Creek Lodge urgently needs to retrain its managers and assistant managers on basic professionalism and customer service. This level of treatment is unacceptable.

We initially stopped at Yosemite View Lodge, but the rate was far beyond what we expected. Thankfully, we continued down the road and found Cedar Lodge -- and it truly saved our trip. Not only was the rate significantly better (even less than what we were originally going to pay at Curry Village), but the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, warm, and comfortable -- which was especially appreciated after dealing with snowy conditions. Unlike Curry Village, where we would have had to walk outside to use the restroom and showers, Cedar Lodge offered hot water and indoor facilities, making our stay far more relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the on-site general store being open late was a huge convenience. Although the lodge is located just outside the park, it was a quick and easy drive into Yosemite each day. Directly across the street is a beautiful picnic area overlooking the river, complete with barbecue grills, picnic tables, benches, and even a swinging bench -- a perfect place to unwind. We were worried we might have to drive much farther to towns like Oakhurst or Midpines to find accommodations, but Cedar Lodge came through for us in every way. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone visiting Yosemite. It turned what could have been a stressful situation into a wonderful vacation experience.

They also set up bonfires to enjoy s'mores in the evenings. We really enjoyed their All-you-can-eat BBQ night in the swimming pool area. The pool bar made delicious drinks. That was our hangout!! If you don't want the All-you-can-eat BBQ, there's a restaurant at the lodge to order food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) or you can buy snacks at their General Store. They also sell beer and wine. The General Store has souvenirs as well. Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite also offers glamping tents, a laundry room, bike rentals, and fun classes for adults and children, for example, if you wanted to learn glassblowing. You can also book tours from the lodge. Our toddler enjoyed the kids' playground and I enjoyed the zip-line. We wanted the camping experience. But Yosemite is difficult for camping reservations so we went this route. And I have to say it added to the entire Yosemite trip. A couple downsides. One, is that it's an hour from the central hub of Yosemite. And when you consider how crazy finding parking can be in Yosemite right now that is a pretty serious negative if I'm honest. But. It's a gorgeous drive. Two, you have to use wagons to haul your gear to your space. We luckily were not very far, but it did take us several trips. And lastly, I really wish that the bathrooms for the tents was separate from the clubhouse. Basically the bathrooms for the pool and the clubhouse and the adventure tents are all one and the same. Would've liked the adventure tents to have their own bathroom, giving a little more privacy. There were several events while we stayed there (I do think it's a cool place to have an event or even a wedding), but the people from the events were constantly coming in and out of the bathrooms. Shared bathrooms aren't my favorite to begin with. Trying to take a shower while event goers are popping in and out... Not my fave. All that said, I really enjoyed the vibe of the place overall. Some of the air streams and cabins are situated on a cute little pond.. Aaaaand. The pool made us all happy at the end of the day. The entire staff here is so dog friendly. The clubhouse had really cool little areas. And was very clean. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The clubhouse has a tiny kitchen with a few nibbles. As well as a bar. Highly recommend the margaritas! Pizza was solid as well. Cute little gift shop with some snacks and essentials and souvenirs. I haven't stayed in Curry Village, but we saw it when we did the mist trail and yikes. This place is so much nicer than the tents, the pool, or the facilities there. If you're looking for a glamping/adventure tent situation I would recommend auto camp. We want to check out their location in Sequoia next!
