We stopped at Tenaya Lodge for dinner after spending the day in Yosemite National Park, and it really hit the spot. There honestly aren't a ton of nicer restaurant options nearby unless you want to drive farther out, so this ended up being a great choice. The ambiance was fantastic, the service was good overall, and the food was solid. I especially recommend the poke bowl -- really enjoyed that. Prices were about what you'd expect for the area and the type of restaurant. Our waiter did forget to come back a couple of times after we asked for Diet Pepsi refills, but aside from that, it was a really pleasant experience. We weren't staying at the lodge itself, just visiting after a Yosemite day trip, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the area and looking for a nice place to eat.

The hotel is located right by the gate to Yosemite. It's got that quintessential mountain lodge charm, with organic wood elements and tall grand design. My buddy and I came few days post Christmas and they still celebrated in the main lobby with classic Christmas music a pianist and singer. They also had complementary s'mores you can burn up by the fireside right outdoors. It was definitely an experience that warmed our holiday spirits with much joy. The room itself was definitely quite spacious, clean and inviting. I think we had a very lovely and cozy stay at the lodge. The indoor pool looked like it was mostly filled with kids, but my buddy found the jacuzzi and sauna to be mostly empty.

This is a very nice and clean hotel. The entire staff is really friendly and accommodating. We had a concern with a fear my wife had and they immediately made changes for us. They have an indoor and outdoor pool as well as an indoor and outdoor spa. The restaurant is good, but if you are on the go, they have a small deli with premade sandwiches and other snacks and drinks. They also serve Starbucks drinks. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Right next to the hotel, there is an easy and scenic hiking trail that takes you to a small waterfall. It's a beautiful trail, Big Sandy Road Trail. There is no doubt we will stay here again.

Wow pure beauty every where I looked! A beautiful hotel nestled in majestic nature & beauty. I stayed 2 nights. Such a lovely place when I walked in, there was guitarist at the entrance playing beautiful it made the place seem so soothing even at the busy check-in! The staff at registration made us feel like very valued customers. We had the morning buffet, they had such a nice variety, I don't see how they could make it better! Everything was flawless at this lodge, in my opinion. They had an any time smores bar with all you needed to make smores on the open fire pit, which was so fun for our tour group! The air was crisp my lungs were enjoying the fresh air! I will be back! I loved Yosemite so close by, absolutely perfect every thing in that whole area I can't wait to get back there & take my Son one day! That was a very enchanting tour. The people were fun & very kind from outside to the inside staff they all seemed to value their jobs!

Pros: Stayed for 3 nights. Very clean cabin. Enjoyed the amenities. My youngest enjoyed doing the glass blowing and the movie in the pool. We enjoyed our dinner at Embers. Service was fantastic and food was delicious. Con: The clubhouse is currently closed for renovations. Typically guests staying in cabins are offered a complimentary breakfast at the clubhouse. With it being closed they offer each guest a free breakfast option up at the lodge at their Grab and Go Deli. First day we went up as family and got our food no problem. The next day, my husband and youngest went and grabbed theirs and went for a hike. My oldest and I went up a bit later. We were informed we could not get it. They informed us we had to be all together and being my husband and daughter had already been we could not receive ours. Spoke to two different people. Front desk said yes of course you can and deli was saying no. Asked to speak to a manager and told her we were never informed that we had to be all together when we checked in. She said well it's "difficult" to keep track of 900 guests and said going forward they would inform guests but we could not get the breakfast. She did offer a shuttle back to the cabin though lol. Which we proudly decline because it was basically a slap in the face. Figure out a better system, you are running a resort. Maybe give each registered guest a voucher at check in. At minimum at least inform your guests at check of the requirement. In the end it wasn't even about the bottle of juice and cereal cup, it was the point of it all. An absolutely demeaning experience.

From the moment you walk up to the check in, you're greeted by pleasant staff, happy to help & assist. The room was clean, view left something to be desired - roof top of all the dishes for the cable, The bed is like a futon, yet nicer. Spa was nice, the steam room needs a stronger scent, eucalyptus or rosemary, something please. Several restaurants to eat at: Embers, higher end, food was on point. Jacklopes middle of the road for prices, food was tasty, great service at both places.

Just ok. Not what I would consider a AAA 4 diamond property as advertised. Not all amenities and restaurants available during stay. We moved from a pet allowed cottage to a cabin. Cottage isn't a free standing individual stay as implied. They are buildings with several rooms within similar to a motel. The courtyard was unkempt and littered with old items and broken fencing. After moving to a cabin we experienced an ant problem. They came and sprayed but the issue persisted. All staff encountered were friendly and tried to be accommodating.

Walk from the cottages to the main lodge.

This lodge is beautiful to stay at with lots of amenities and very family friendly. They have both an outdoor and indoor pool, rock climbing wall, glass blowing, game room, smores in the lobby, and wonderful trails nearby. It is on the pricier side to stay here, but incredibly close to Yosemite's entrance (10 min) and Yosemite Valley (one hour). The food at the onsite restaurants are decent, not amazing, but not terrible whatsoever. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. Will definitely come again.

Very gorgeous and peacefull resort. An hour away from yosemite falls. Very kid and pet friendly. Rooms were clean and everyone was nice. The inside pool with movie noghts was the best for me. Also smores, ice skating, and archery were free...

5 minutes or 1 hour driving distance from the world famous Yosemite National Park entrance depending on when you are visiting. Price wise, it is a comparable to any five star hotel range with amenities such as full body spa, 2 outdoor swimming pools, 1 indoor swimming pool, arcade game room, many fire pits for bbqing marshmallow at night, proper size gym, a few event rooms, mountain bikes rental, 2 restaurants, 1 trinket store, 1 clothing store, and many (I didn't really counted) elevators throughout its 2 wings. There are 8 Tesla chargers and 2 non-Tesla chargers available in the parking lots. Breakfast buffet is available for guest which we opted. Very close by is a pizzeria for alternative choice of meals and a general store for things you may forget to bring. Hospitality wise, personnel are terrific and very welcoming! The room is extremely clean (perhaps, it may have been recently renovated)! I shall say spit-clean! The room we have has 70+ inch TV & out door sitting area with 2 red seats for lounging. In-room microwave can be ordered with additional charge, If you must warm your food, there is a communal microwave available on 2nd floor of the end of east wing. It can be quite a distance to track there depending on where you stay (approximately 5 or 6 football field to & fro there). Enjoy your Yosemite trip...

What a great place! We were debating on a cabin or staying in the main lodge. We made the right decision. Our Contemporary suite, was nicely decorated and comfortable for the three of us. The fireplace completed the seating area, making it nice and cozy. We liked how there was a closet area by the front entry. The king bed was super comfy and the outdoor patio was perfect to get some fresh air. The only con was the loud, white noise when the heater ran. It would shut off (since it was on auto) but at times it woke me up when it turned on. We liked how there was a side door right outside of our entrance that spit us out to the front area, to the right of valet/main entrance.l so we were able to walk over to check out the cottages, bike rental area, etc. It's a nice getaway!

Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite

    What is the dog policy?

They allow dogs in certain cottages, but you can't leave the dogs alone in the room, even while having dinner at the restaurant. You have to board them and it is $20 per hour, per dog, minimum of 2 hours.

Do they offer gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles or gluten-free French toast?

If you pay for the prepaid breakfast, I don't believe they have any gluten-free options. It's a buffet and you make your own waffles and it's a premade waffle mix. They didn't have pancakes or French toast on that menu.

    What are the pool hours?

I believe they are either 09:00-10:00 pm or 10:00-09:00 pm

    Internet service?speed? Strong?efficiency?

It was decent. We were able to stream Netflix on our iPads- 2 of us used it.

How far is walk from cabin to main hotel lobby?

Does Tenaya really ask for AAA proof when you check in if booking a AAA rate? Most places that we've been to that say they want proof of AAA membership when booking a AAA rate have never asked for proof.

I would if I were them. Just bring your card.

Can anyone tell me how many cottages are assigned to one of the houses? We need three cottages and it would be nice to have the entire house to ourself.

They have 3 per cottage. Parking is tight so a small SUV or AWD car is best

The room we had was the Mariposa room and it was beautiful and large! We were amazed as everything looked clean and there were 2 bathrooms(one had the shower and the other had the toilet). Please make sure to read ALL of the rules that are in BOTH bathrooms that are hanging on the wall(one of them is right near the toilet and the other is in the other bathroom near the hair dryer). Pamela had also greeted us and told us about the continental breakfast and that you are to eat it in your own room. She would later enter your room when you are not there to pick up the dishes. She was also helpful with any questions in regards to what to visit in Yosemite. We loved our private balcony and the view of the stream flowing by. Pamela surprised us by hauling up some rocking sitting chairs on the last night of our stay onto the balcony. We enjoyed that very much and the peacefulness. We also enjoyed the fridge in the room but also wished there was a freezer as well as we had brought our own ice packs. Cons: As much as we did not mind Pamela coming into our room to get the breakfast dishes while we were gone, we did notice a few things that felt odd. First, she took our used shower towels that was hanging on the inside of the horseshoe rack and rehung it on top of the horseshoe rack holder. She even took out the squishy non-slip padding in the shower and rehung it. She made our beds(though we could of sworn that one of the rules was that there was NOT going to be any room cleaning, etc. She took some of our other towels that we had used and replaced it with others(which was fine). BUT, she THREW AWAY my small styrofoam cup that I had left nicely on the sink counter. I had brought it from home and had used it to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth. Who does that?? Who throws away someone else's things? I was very upset and it kind of made our stay there less enjoyable knowing that someone had gone through your stuff. Overall, it is a nice place to stay with a nice room and view but think about items that belong to you and what things you wouldn't want anyone to touch or throw away. We also suggest you bring your own food as there isn't really a place to eat at except for a place slightly down the street that sells sandwiches(it was good) or at the expensive restaurant at the hotel down the street. If you don't bring your own food, you would need to drive ALL the way back down the windy road into town.

Okay that's fine we know we are early but it was not a warm welcome. When we asked what we can do near the hotel in the meantime she responded "I don't know but I bet you can find something". This was my first time to this city and Yosemite. So we said screw it and drive into Yosemite valley. It is about an hour drive on a road with a lot of tight turns. However it is beautiful! Now fast forward to around 7pm when we came back and there is a new person working the front desk. This man was super wonderful and helpful. He gave us all the info we needed about the area and the hotel. This one man turned out initial opinion on the hotel around. Now the room is not much. Super tiny room with one bed inside. However you can basically park right outside your room, which is super nice. A major downside, the walls are so thin that we could hear the conversations and the tv from the rooms next to us. One of the rooms didn't turn off their tv till 4-5am. A huge redeeming factor of this hotel is breakfast. It's included and is a good continental breakfast. The lady working it was super nice and welcoming. Also another nice thing with this hotel is we saw no kids there. So it was a ton of adventurous adults. Huge bonus. I still wouldn't stay here again but huge bonus. So overall, minus one lady the staff was incredible and so was the breakfast. However the rooms were horrible. The hardest part is in Fish Camp you have only a few options to choose from. So it is this hotel, Tenaya up the street, or going to another town. Personally I would recommend go to Tenaya or into Yosemite and stay at the Wawona Lodge. You will probably have a better experience.

The WiFi speeds are fair and the staff is nice. Made the booking through Booking.com (https://www.booking.com/s/11_6/tujean53 -- if you want a referral). I was in the Fish Camp area region for a weekend wedding and it was the cheapest room I could find on there. Messaged through the booking to ask if I would be able to check in early b/c the regular check-in time is 3 PM. I had a wedding at 4, so I just asked if I could arrive and get a room early and they obliged. One thing that I thought was strange was how the bathroom came with the usual soaps and stuff, but no toothpaste or toothbrush (probs just too used to international travel....). Their Key Drop off is literally a drop off. You just drop the key into a mailbox looking thing that's outside the office that you check-in at. Location: It's close to Tenaya Lodge ( which is where I was attending the wedding, so it worked out for me). It's a little strange b/c to get to WCML, you drive in through a narrow street and it's at the end of the street. It's about a 1 hr drive to Yosemite from here. Breakfast: I've included pictures, but for some reason I was expecting more. But they did an okay job for a small place. They had a lot of beverage options: tea, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and milk. Wish they had more "food" options other than the toast, waffles, sausage, and hard boiled eggs. I guess that's just because I'm just picky about the food I have for breakfast, but I really shouldn't be complaining b/c the breakfast is included in your stay with no additional cost. Parking: They take note of what car you have upon check-in, but there's ample parking available. You should be able to get the one right in front of your room. Room Condition: Room was fairly clean and the bathroom shower looked like it had been remodeled recently. The room I was in was fairly small (Queen bed), but I just needed a place to sleep for the night before heading to Yosemite the next day so it worked out. WiFi speeds: When I tested it, it was fair. I have T-Mobile and don't have cell reception around that area, so it was useful to route myself from there to Yosemite and it was good enough to download the area offline for future use. TIPS: If you have to check in early, feel free to send a message to WCML when you're making the booking on Booking.com and they'll let you know if they're able to accommodate. Don't forget to bring your ID and the CC that you used to book your stay.

They EV charging stations for vehicles and other things plenty of handicap parking all throughout the facility and also a restaurant right in the middle of this place so you don't have to go very far to get good food Speaking of good food, their breakfast buffet by far put it over the top because a lot of times you go to hotels and you get maybe a continental breakfast just a few items and you're not really interested in those items but this breakfast buffet was overwhelming because it was so amazing and on this trip we finally got to eat a good meal at a hotel They had pancake sausage, eggs, different kinds of bacon, like four or five different juices, six or seven different coffees, bagels plenty of people behind the counter to serve you fresh fruit, all kind of stuff and it was well laid out. A very relaxing environment that you can walk in get your breakfast sit down and really enjoy your time there and go back for seconds and know it was gonna be hot and fresh every time so I truly recommend this place because of how relaxing it was how easy it was to get in and out of and the food quality for breakfast was amazing. The only thing that was a little bit still out of date, but still look good was the rooms they are older style rooms not updated like a lot of other places are, but it was an amazing stay great facilities and we will stay here every time we go to Yosemite

A few things, this place can accommodate 4 adults but it is not a two bedroom place as advertised. There is one room upstairs that has two twin beds and one queen bed. Has one bathroom downstairs. The cabin is a bit outdated but I'm not sure what else you expect for a cabin in Fish Camp. It had the essentials though. It had a kitchen, with a lot of pots and pans and utensils, some spices, refrigerator, tv with DVD player and Cable (dish). They had a bbq grill but we couldn't figure out if it was charcoal or gas and we didn't have propane or charcoal so we didn't use it. The beds were not that comfortable and the sheets and pillows seemed old. Actually everything seemed a bit old in the place. John was very gracious throughout the whole reservation process and called us while we were there to make sure everything was ok. Overall, we had a lovely time but for how much we paid, we were expecting a little better. The other thing is this is one of the only dog friendly places around Yosemite which made it our go to place.

He was able to accommodate our group of 20. Papa Bear Den was fantastic! It had everything you could think of. BBQ pit, full kitchen, accommodations to fit us all in under 1 roof. The restaurants were close by and Oakhurst was just a short drive down the mountain. The creek water level was very low due to the lack of snow melt but we still managed to catch 1 good size trout. Staying on the south end of the park was a new experience for us and it was just wonderful. John is very knowledgeable on the area inside Yosemite Park as well as restaurants to get a great meal. The locals were all friendly and had loads of information. It was very pleasant to talk to them in the mornings. We are definitely coming back next year for our 5th Annual Motorcycle Road Trip. Thank you John for making our 4th Annual Motorcycle Road trip a success! Take care and see you next year!!!

Our cabin was nice and clean and had board games for kids to play with. I liked the smell of their complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion that the lodge makes. There are also outdoor games like Bocce and ping pong tables. If you want to relax, the lodge has a large swimming pool, jacuzzi, and massage room. They also set up bonfires to enjoy s'mores in the evenings. We really enjoyed their All-you-can-eat BBQ night in the swimming pool area. The pool bar made delicious drinks. That was our hangout!! If you don't want the All-you-can-eat BBQ, there's a restaurant at the lodge to order food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) or you can buy snacks at their General Store. They also sell beer and wine. The General Store has souvenirs as well. Evergreen Lodge at Yosemite also offers glamping tents, a laundry room, bike rentals, and fun classes for adults and children, for example, if you wanted to learn glassblowing. You can also book tours from the lodge. Our toddler enjoyed the kids' playground and I enjoyed the zip-line. The lodge is less than 20 minutes away from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir with beautiful views of a waterfall and it's a 17-mile drive to Yosemite National Park. We look forward to going back next summer and staying at the same location. A must visit Yosemite!! Happy Yelping :)

We stayed on-site for the Christmas holiday and ate all our meals at the Lodge restaurant and tavern. 1) Lodge Accommodations -We always stay in the Deluxe Cabin - King. It's wonderful, cozy, spacious, and always clean. -The staff has always been exceptional, welcoming, and helpful, especially or despite working over holidays. -The nightly s'mores don't hurt -This holiday trip, Dez and Deneja, did a tremendous job with activities and were overall delightful. -Plenty to do (between hikes, games, and relaxing) to unwind with time away from electronics. 2) Restaurant and Tavern I'll start with the good: -The salads are really good and portion is large. -They have several options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. -Elk meatloaf is consistent and delicious -Sea Bass on Christmas was delightful (my husband's entree dish) -Servers & bar tenders are wonderful The bad: [Christmas Eve] Avoid the trout & gnocchi; trout was extremely dry and I'm not sure you could call whatever we received gnocchi. The "gnocchi" was too mushy, not much shape, and had a very off putting taste & fragrance. The worst: [Christmas] It was a prefixed menu, with delicious sounding options. One of the options was a Scotch Egg, seemed like an appropriate choice given the holiday. My husband chose the salad. I wish I had chosen the soup. When the scotch egg arrived, it looked good. Upon cutting, the pork/sausage was raw. The server, Cara (who was amazing the whole meal), apologized and took the dish back. The kitchen made a second attempt and the restaurant or kitchen manager stated that she watched them cook this one longer to ensure it was fully cooked. Well, it was more cooked than the last attempt. However, there were still clearly raw sections closer to the egg. Now, I can understand this isn't a regular menu dish, things happen, usually not a big deal. Yet, the restaurant or kitchen manager (didn't catch her name), decided to gaslight me instead. She said the pink bits are expected given that they use paprika (If that was the case, the rest of the meat wouldn't change colors when cooked nor would it be a different texture). She stated they only had the salad or I'd have to accept this, they were out of other options. Fair. Obviously, I didn't want food poisoning and didn't accept it. Cara did provide a 10% discount and, again, was extremely lovely the whole time. The tone and gaslighting from the restaurant or kitchen manager was completely unacceptable and off putting. We've stayed at Evergreen Lodge multiple times, included over the holidays; dining at the Restaurant and Lodge the majority of meals, with acceptable or great experiences. We'll continue to stay at Evergreen Lodge, but either dine at Rush Creek or select safer/regular menu items when dining here again.

The elevator was broken with no near term repair.. in the grand lodge room walls and ceiling art are decayed, with exposed rotting wood and cracks and drips of plaster. Our room had non functional electrical outlets, mold I the bathroom tiles and a very slippery tub, no floor mat or grab bars. The bathroom vanity glass has large cracks. The door to out balcony would not shut, with a large hook latch needed to close it, still with a waving , gaping door seam hole that we had to throw a towel it to keep it from banging back and forth in the wind. The pipes in the wall all night bang --at first I thought it was our next door neighbors! Bed is ok but the springs squeak loudly as does the bathroom door. The view from the balcony is truly remarkable. The staff is friendly and nice. If you use the room phone to call for something, no one ever answers the phone for room service, concierge, front desk, no matter how many time you call. It always goes to voicemail and they must never retrieve the messages. In the remarkable and very grand dinning hall they have beautiful candlelight and a lovey pianist. The food is expensive. The Caesar salad was limp with cheap box croutons. The French onion soup had a vegetable base and so missed the mark. The single deviled egg, $10 was outstanding, the filet and crab was perfectly done and I would do again. The prime rib was generous, the Yorkshire pudding bowl Dubois, but the gravy and vegetables were good. My husband's salad was excellent--crab and butter leaf with a perfect light dressing. My martini was horrendous- all vermouth. But the one we got at the bar at the hotel entrance was great. I enjoyed the Awhanee manhattan. Service was very good. Such a remarkable property. So sad to see its decline. Outstanding trails that lead from the hotel. We have been coming here for 40 years. Yosemite is truly a gift that we are grateful for for

Unfortunately, no one has been able to assist me when I call. I was told that I needed to email the restaurant manager, Rachel T., but she has not responded to any of my emails. I also left a voicemail, which has not been returned. What happened today was especially unacceptable. I called and spoke with an assistant manager named Sarah. I explained my frustration and asked whether she could assist me or connect me with the restaurant manager. I also explained that one of the reasons we chose this lodge was because it could accommodate our group and had an on-site restaurant, which is especially convenient when traveling with multiple families and children. Sarah's response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She laughed aloud and said, "You booked here for this restaurant, not to see Yosemite?" I then asked to speak with a manager because her response was completely inappropriate. Before the issue could be addressed, the call was disconnected. After nearly a month of unanswered emails, an unreturned voicemail, and this extraordinarily disrespectful interaction, I am extremely disappointed. Rush Creek Lodge urgently needs to retrain its managers and assistant managers on basic professionalism and customer service. This level of treatment is unacceptable.
