Once parking was out of the way, I walked into Yuris and was really drawn to the menu and the wide open and sunny space. There were a lot of delicious looking macarons, but I ended going with an almond croissant and a bag of tiny chocolate chip cookies to take home. Also a latte. The latte and croissant were great, but even better was the back room with extra seating, giving me and my companion plenty of privacy for our conversation. I am often so daunted by some of the squishy spaces in town to meet someone for coffee when you need to have a real conversation. Yuri's is not like that at all, plenty of space, plenty of sunshine, strong wifi and great food.

She was absolutely lovely to work with! Very responsive to emails and phone calls, and super flexible and helpful with pairing flavors for us. She made a variety of mini-cupcakes and frostings for our tasting and each were delicious--even the margarita cake! As someone who does not like chocolate, I would have eaten the chocolate ganache frosting with gusto. We ended up choosing traditional flavors: red velvet with cream cheese frosting for the bottom (12") and top (6") tiers as well as vanilla with chocolate ganache for the middle (8"). We had just shy of 60 guests at our wedding and were able to take the entire top tier home. She understood the type of design we wanted for our cake (very simple and clean, which required the use of fondant). Our guests enjoyed the taste, though they thought it was "a bit sweet" (probably due to the fondant). The style was what was in my head but not executed as cleanly as I would have liked--in the days before Pinterest, brides didn't have 1,000 images to show their baker, after all--but I was still happy with the price, taste, and service and would recommend her to friends. I'm pleased to see that she now has her own storefront. I have yet to visit, but plan to rectify that soon.

Posted a comment and was asked to send a private message. I am so glad I did. The Macarons I ordered were St Patty's day themed. Lucky charms cereal, Shamrock Shake and Baileys Irish creme! Too die for flavors! The cookie part perfectly baked, the creme filling inside is out of this world flavored! I also order their special box. It is a heart filled chocolate box filled with chocolate and or candy. Hot cocoa bombs (choices of dark, milk or white chocolate) and chocolate dipped strawberries! Which are huge by the way and just as delicious! The best part about this entire thing is I am Gluten free, they double checked the chocolate to verify it was GF!
