We cannot recommend Cake Elizabeth enough for any of your cake occasions, but especially your wedding! Kristina and her team were very professional, responsive, flexible, and pleasant throughout our time working together. They truly hit the ball out of the park with everything and were very helpful in determining how much cake to have, delivering and setting everything up, etc. The design of the cake was absolutely beautiful. We gave Kristina a general idea of what we were looking for, and it could not have come out better. She also made two adorable puffins for the base the cake. As cake lovers, not only was the design but also the taste really important to us. We had a four tier cake along with a selection of cupcakes, all of varying flavors. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The cake was moist, while the frosting was smooth, buttery, and fluffy -- and neither too sweet. Our guests loved everything, and by the end of the night, all the cake and cupcakes were eaten! We will definitely be back for celebrations in the future. Thank you so much!

We ordered our wedding cake from here and from start to finish, we had a very pleasant customer experience with this bakery. The cake itself was soooo good! We had French vanilla cake with blueberry filling and Godiva white chocolate icing--amazing!! We had a skiing theme. The gondola had a little to be desired but we were so blown away by the flavor of the cake, it didn't matter.

Mmmm all 3 were sooo good

Kristina was super nice and professional. The cakes we tried were delicious and we look forward to sharing the delicious cake with our friends & family on our big day.

Horrible handling of communication and customer service. Now I have to go to a supermarket bakery for a 60th birthday cake in two days.

Do u do birthday cakes in Italian buttercream and inside almond flavoring?

Yes, we can do Italian buttercream. As for almond flavored inside, we can do the cake and/or the filling in almond. For almond flavored cakes, we have our white cake (only egg whites and almond extract) or our amaretto almond (stronger almond…

Once parking was out of the way, I walked into Yuris and was really drawn to the menu and the wide open and sunny space. There were a lot of delicious looking macarons, but I ended going with an almond croissant and a bag of tiny chocolate chip cookies to take home. Also a latte. The latte and croissant were great, but even better was the back room with extra seating, giving me and my companion plenty of privacy for our conversation. I am often so daunted by some of the squishy spaces in town to meet someone for coffee when you need to have a real conversation. Yuri's is not like that at all, plenty of space, plenty of sunshine, strong wifi and great food.

The raisin croissant was great - it was flaky, light, there was a nice simple syrup that created almost a candied undercarriage - this could have also been the sugar that cooked out of the raisins when baking. The croissant didn't exactly have anything particularly standout about it, it just tasted like it was very well executed. Oddly didn't get much of a buttery flavor from this croissant, I also feel like a very small amount of spices could have gone a long way to help pull in some warm undertones for the flavor. If I get back here on another trip, I'll be sure to arrive earlier to get some different options.

Upon entry, you'll see the current offerings in a display to the right, and a view into the kitchen through a window in the left. The friendly staff could not be nicer; zero attitude whatsoever even after winning a prestigious James Beard award. Zero seating, too, unfortunately, other than a few benches outside. -- Chocolate Croissant: A sturdy brown contraption with a crusty exterior and a bready interior. Mine was still warm, with a good crackly bite and hints of wood flavor from the oven. Underneath were strong accents of chocolate. Very good and very different. -- Almond Croissant: A swirl shape along the lines of pain au raisins, but with almonds and almond filling. That filling was nicely understated and natural, complementing while deferring to the still-warm dough. Another example of very good and very different. This place strikes me more as a bread bakery that also bakes pastries than a pastry shop that also bakes bread-- not that there's anything wrong with that. And it's a place that's willing to sacrifice breadth of offerings (at least at any one time) for quality of offerings, and there's nothing wrong with that either. Looking forward to many more visits to get that breadth-- and bread-- over time.

After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland. I do wish the setup was a bit more conducive to the big crowds as there isn't much space from the front door to the counter but still a fantastic find!
