After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland. I do wish the setup was a bit more conducive to the big crowds as there isn't much space from the front door to the counter but still a fantastic find!

Well, if you heard about that, you are no doubt familiar with My 3 Sisters Italian Cookies of Portland, Maine. They are all over the Northeast at Farmer's Markets and such. My 3 Sisters don't have a website, but you can track them down on Facebook, Instagram and Etsy. Their Etsy page is where you can order. We found them at the Kennebunkport Farmer's Market where four varieties of their cookies were on sale - Chocolate Volcano, Lemon Ricotta, Cran-Raisin Orange, and Italian Butter. We bought a Lemon Ricotta, one Cran-Raisin Orange, and a small Whoopie Pie. We loved all of them, but if I needed to pick my favorite it would be that Cran-Orange. Fantastic flavors! Their Etsy page tells the story of their recipes. They've "been in my family for generations and we were taught how to cook by our grandparents. We use local ingredients and small batches to make sure the quality is in every cookie. (They) have no preservatives...so when you receive them they are individually packaged and have a shelf life of about 2-3 weeks. Or you can use a freezer bag and freeze them up to 6 months." Coming from out of state, I didn't really have any way to get the bagel open. They told me to use their plastic knives which is what I tried to do but due to the elasticity of their bagels it made my car a mess. Cream cheese is sold separately in a glass container which is kind of annoying. If you are ok with them just throwing the bagel in a bag, and if you live nearby and are able to fix it up, great! But if not, it's kinda just a mess and not worth it.
