I called ahead to reserve a pie and they were able to put one aside to make sure I would be able to pick it up. Overall lovely bakery!

The inside is honestly too small for the amount of product they sell and is pretty claustrophobic with multiple customers and staff. Not like running into people small but you need to be aware of yourself as you open refrigerator doors and stand in one place debating for excessive amounts of time like me. I used to always get Miyake sushi but it sells out fast/ it's after lunchtime when I go. Lately I got a turkey cheddar sandwich, it was hearty and on good bread but also $13. I usually get a fun drink since they always have new brands and options of things like watermelon water, coconut water, kombucha, seltzer, etc. I highly recommend the pretzel rolls and the ham/cheese croissant in the pastry cabinet, although those are usually sold out too. You can buy fancy chips and ice creams as well as local seafood and produce. It's a nice one stop shop but purchasing ingredients to make a meal is likely a splurge. Treat yourself and also grab a fancy chocolate bar by the register when you pay.

Nonetheless, the food was really delicious once we got it. I had a very yummy veggie burger (spicy mayo, avocado, tomato, lettuce, I think?) and my spouse got an excellent Turkey BLT. Ordered a special today and the barbecue chicken was very good. My hangup was Service and I see this everywhere. Too many people standing around. I arrived at 1:30 PM with no one in line and a handful of people eating inside and outside. I waited at least 15 + minutes for a sandwich. It seemed to me that a strong emphasis was on takeout orders, and DoorDash with only two people making sandwiches and 4 ee's behind the register and coffee bar hanging out talking. I wasn't really in a huge hurry yet my two or three ingredient sandwich should've been out significantly faster than what I experienced. I'd probably give it three and three-quarter stars and yes, I would go back.

SPüN does a lot of variety of custom order cakes and they're so nicely done. My first opportunity was my SO had actually ordered a green tea cake -- it was so good I couldn't stop shoveling the buttercream into my mouth. This year I opted for a Boston cream pic cupcake selection for the Boston cream pie lover in my life. The inside was a yellow cake base with the standard Boston cream in the middle and a hardened chocolate shell over cream on top. I made a special request for some lettering and they came packaged in a box that allowed for complete stability of the cakes. I accidentally left them out in a cold area prior to serving but they turned out totally fine! I would have normally done a regular Boston cream pie but circumstances made cupcakes an easier option. Will be trying the full cake next time. Definitely recommend if you're in the area -- ordering, customizing, payment, and pick up were all insanely easy.

THESE ARE THE BEST CINNAMON ROLLS I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE (So please ignore anything I've said stating otherwise that was written before this review was.) I had been warned that these were everything and more, and that still did not prepare me for how epic they were. They're the perfect balance of both dense and yet they melt-in-your-mouth; the "icing" (whatever notion you have of icing, throw it away because that's not what this is but a word hasn't been invented yet for whatever is going on with these buns) is sticky and creamy and has a little hint of citrus. And I am not sure I can never eat another cinnamon roll again, because these have spoiled me forever (I was swooning so much the first time we had them that my partner let me finish his as well!). Also: their frittata? I haven't had anything that good since living in Spain. Big, filling wedges of layered egg, potato, onion, and veggies. I'm hoping this will always be available vegetarian! Also; I ate it cold. And with my hands like it was a slice of pizza. That's the kind of monster I am, but it worked out deliciously! Spün you have IMMEDIATELY become one of my favorite food places in all of Maine. Can I make my holiday order for a half dozen cinnamon rolls and veggie frittata now?!

Do not come here expecting to sit at a cafe and eat indoors. There are only a few outdoor tables. This is more of a take out spot. There was a preorder area which had no line seemed like a good option if you want to just drive up and grab your goods without waiting in a long line. The drinks (iced tea/cold brew/hot coffee/tea) are premade and I would say are above average. The pastries we had were unbelievable! Flakey, buttery croissants with simple but punchy flavors. After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland. I do wish the setup was a bit more conducive to the big crowds as there isn't much space from the front door to the counter but still a fantastic find!

My daughter and I went in and picked out a dozen Macarons - their employee kept saying "is that it? Is that it?" Couldn't wait to check us out and get rid of us. We did buy an extra cookie ( slap on the wrist to us)! Asked for coffee - oh no - we don't have coffee now! We sat down to eat and the employee rushed out to take down the "open" flag. I thought: ah. So that's the problem. A woman was asking for the bathroom - oh no - we don't have bathrooms. If it's an emergency there's a gas station down the road. Read: Get out now. With amusement I watched a car drive in the parking lot at 5 minutes to 3. I thought: oh boy - they're in for it. They surprisingly got in the bakery only to be rushed right out. As it ticked to three minutes to close, I started to motion to my daughter to get up to leave. Before I could I was interrupted: Ma'am... MAAM! We are closed. You need to leave NOW. Kicked out. lol. Bottom line - reviews are correct - pastries not great and way too sugary. For a real eclair Franks in Bangor is the best you will ever have. Eclair not worth the $$ at EB. Hate to say it, but Mornings in Paris is our new place - large selection, seating, bathrooms, better food, better hours, and kind service with a smile.
