06/16/2015. I recieved my 2004 Dodge 3500 4×4 back from Interstate Transmission with a newly…read moreinstalled T-5600 remanufactured transmission. I was told it came from Chrysler Corp.. The truck had 224,699 miles on it at that time, I have owned the truck from 2007 when it had about 110,000 miles on it. The only other time to my knowledge tthe transmission was taken out, was in 2012 when the clutch was replaced at around 180,000 miles. We were on our way to Alaska pulling our 36' 5th wheel and had stopped at a relatives at New Richmond when with the truck only, we went to visit other family members in Minnesota. While reroute, the 6 speed transmission acted up not allowing shifts into 3rd or 4th gear. Interstate was recommended by the family in New Richmond. After removing the transmission and examining it, the owner Kieth recommended the "new" transmission quoting$4600 for the transmission + remove and replace which when totaled came to 9 hours labor@ 98.00 or $882.00 ,,with fluids, sales tax and a new $52.00 throw out bearing I requested, a total of $5980.00. In Alaska, the transmission was replaced again after about 5500 miles, this one was ok for almost 4000 miles when it began a gear clashing often when shifting from 5th to 6th gear.I first texted Kieth 26 Sept. describing the problem, miles etc. I recieved no response, finally 7 Oct. I called talked w/Kieth's brother, found Kieth had had a heart attack 23 Sept. asked to have Kieth call me. After conversing with Kieth I drove to His shop (227) miles from Lone Rock, Iowa. He drove my truck agreed there was a problem and was to make arrangements to have another transmission sent so it could be replaced the following Tuesday 20 Oct. Having business in Lone Rock, I returned. 19 Oct back to Kieth's so he could have the truck all day Tuesday, around 4:00 pm talked w/Kieth who chuckled as he told me the transmission was sent to Alaska again and would not be in his hands until Thur. 23 Oct.. I arrived back at Kieth's Fri. 24 Oct. early being dropped off by the cousins got in my truck found the shifter VERY sloppy went in to ask why, got the run around about a ball on the end of the shifter missing was told they had driven it and found it ok. 227 miles back to Lone Rock the truck sat until 27 Oct. Tuesday when hooked to trailer, I drove approximately 12 miles to Smith Lake park to dump tanks. Before I could get off the hiway the transmission locked up and had oil dripping from under it. Called Kieth got brother explained problem got runaround asked Kieth to call. With Kieth's knowledge had truck towed to Smidt Repair. 29 Oct. James checked out truck, upon removing the boot around the shifter, it was found the shift tower was not sealed and tightened securely this caused all but a quart or 1/2 inch of lube remained out of 9 quarts supposedly installed, again Kieth was called advised of the findings immediately. Now, Kieth is refusing to pay Smidts bill for towing, and their total labor for the r&r of yet another trtransmission. Plus, Smidt found the transfer case to be 2 quarts low on fluid and one tapping for a bolt to attach transmission to bellhousing was stripped, it seems like I should at least be informed of this, or is Interstate trying to hide more shoddy work
