Anyways I notice when going to work early morning my Chevy Trailblazer (Who I named Old Faithful) was reving really hard. As I continued to drive it out to where I had to go the Check Engine light went on. I had this problem before which is an Engine Misfire. On one of the Sparkplugs and Cylinders. I had contact my relative and she sent me to Midas In Eden Prairie, MN. Boy DID I MAKE A BIG MISTAKE. Midas told me I had to replace a whole cylinder head!! IT was gonna cost me $6k!! That is like a good used car! On top of that they we're inspecting other parts of the car that was not necessary! Unfortunately, I had to pay $122 for the diagnostic but I by change had contacted on Craig's List another Mechanic who referred me to Erik. I had told Erick and he himself was shocked at my story! He new Midas was BS-ing and I went to him. My engine was still fine! I just needed new spark plugs which he believed Midas technicians damage by pulling it out the improper way and new great quality coils which I should have don vs buying from Ebay. Showed up today and was told my appointment was at 2:30, despite having two emails to the contrary. Bottom line, you have been warned. After my vehicle was inspected and work completed I am adding additional information to my post. I feel that their service/evaluation was thorough, and their communication throughout the process was exemplary. They are going to do follow up work on my brakes and I will see how that goes. I had an unfortunate experience during what should have been a basic oil change on my F-150. The…read moreservice included a brake inspection, and my wheels have security lugs. I was told I needed new rear brakes, so I planned to replace them myself on Saturday, 12/29/25. When I went to start the job, my security socket was nowhere to be found. So much for my Saturday project. The shop was closed for the weekend, so I couldn't resolve it. I met with the owner, Dan, on Monday. He ordered a new set of security lugs in hopes that the key would work. It did not. The tech had misplaced my original key during the brake inspection. Needless to say, it was a major inconvenience--and I didn't receive so much as an apology from the owner. This was my experience as a first-time customer. A $50-off coupon will not bring back my business.
