My check engine light was on for a misfire in a cylinder. I asked to have coil changed on the cylinder. They stated they changed it. I paid for it and left, the light then came on again. They light came on a third time and I took my vehicle to a different store which found that none of the work had been done. When confronted the manager offered a refund for the part not replaced. It appears they simply replugged the light in. My student told me 2 days later the "oil change" alert was still on and that the headlight was out (again). I had him take the car back to Lake Elmo Repair and they told him he would need to bring it back with an appointment. I don't think it is fair to expect us to have to come back according to their schedule when the problem was the poor workmanship of Lake Elmo Repair. I entered through the garden center and walked to the auto center, still no one there. I called the auto center- no one picked up the phone. I did some shopping and walked back later- a Walmart employee was behind the counter/ no other customers. I asked about my 1pm appt. I was ignored, I asked again and acknowledged, but not helped. I left at this point and went 1/2 mile down the road to Vavoline...lesson learned.

Showed up today and was told my appointment was at 2:30, despite having two emails to the contrary. Bottom line, you have been warned. After my vehicle was inspected and work completed I am adding additional information to my post. I feel that their service/evaluation was thorough, and their communication throughout the process was exemplary. They are going to do follow up work on my brakes and I will see how that goes. I understand that anyone can have a bad day, and I think they deserve a second chance at a first impression based on how they handled the scheduling error, and their word-of-mouth reputation.
