I was admitted a couple hours later. Not to long. The nurse I had upstairs was also amazing !! Told me hopefully ill be home thr next day... Made me feel safe. Dr Patel was great he had a great positive attitude. Soon another day after seeing another doctor I was able to go home on Saturday afternoon. I really like this place. Extremely Disappointing and Concerning ER Experience…read more I honestly cannot understand how this ER prioritizes patients. I personally watched intoxicated patients come in visibly drunk, stumbling, swearing, and smelling strongly of alcohol and get taken straight to the back to see a doctor -- bypassing the waiting room process that my elderly father and other elderly patients were experiencing. Meanwhile, my 85-year-old father was struggling to swallow and breathe, and another 83-year-old man who was already on oxygen, shivering, and had been there before us was also left waiting for hours. My father ultimately waited over six hours before we ultimately left. I completely understand that emergency rooms have a triage system and that patients must be prioritized based on medical need. But watching this happen while elderly patients with obvious medical concerns sat waiting for hours was extremely frustrating and concerning. I'm not expecting special treatment because my father is elderly. I'm expecting patients with potentially serious breathing and swallowing issues to be properly assessed and prioritized based on their medical condition. This experience left me extremely disappointed and questioning how patients are being triaged and prioritized at this facility.

Ow, ow, ow, ow, OW. My husband, a firefighter/paramedic, took one look at my thumb and noticed my obvious lack of range of motion, and decreed an x-ray was in my future. Sigh. An x-ray. At, like, 8 PM on Thanksgiving? An ER visit. Really? I wasn't feeling it. Like, at all. The pain was pretty intense (and trust me, my tolerance is higher than most) so I packed up and headed to Ingalls despite my reservation about urgent aid-like places. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, the visit was smooth sailing. Color me impressed. Registration was a breeze (even though I'm right handed and my writing was, well, a little sloppy, to say the least). The nurses were great, the x-ray tech was fabulous (she double gowned me--something I greatly appreciated as I was 28 weeks pregnant at the time), the ER doc was gentle and proficient and explained everything very, very thoroughly. While the x-ray was clean (YAY for no broken bones!), the odds of a torn ligament were very, very high. The nurses braced me up and the doctor sent me off with a referral for an ortho in the area for an MRI if I wasn't entirely pain-free in a reasonable amount of time. Start to finish as far as time spent at said urgent aid facility? Roughly one hour. ONE HOUR, people. I was anticipating three times as long. Waited total 45 minutes to get in for simple blood test, even though only 3 others waiting. I had to wait because a certain employee was the only one who could type my order in system. And, ...finally here she comes into office with a coworker, from outside, carrying food bags, carrying shopping bags, laughing, walking to and fro to desks, back rooms, across waiting room. I knew immediately I was going to be delayed. Why, they're focused on having a baby shower today. Asked if she was on lunch break, her cohort said no, not on lunch. Woman sees me up in waiting room and as she's walking around, clearly not doing her job, sees me holding paper and says I'll take that. And,...another 20 minutes before she gets to her desk. Asked at front desk for manager phone number from woman who actually was checking people in, agreeing with me. She gives me a phone # for the hospital in Harvey Dialysis lab - WRONG NUMBBER. Yesterday advised I am only here for blood test, not MRI listed. ADVISED THREE OF THEM. Today, receive call to schedule MRI. The utter stupidity, attitude of "I'll get my work done with you after I'm done shopping, laughing, planning baby shower, walking around getting nothing done, ..." is OUTRAGEOUSLY UNPROFESSIONAL. You are either WORKING or on a LUNCH BREAK. Since when did low level employees get the idea that their personal needs are met first, during work hours, even though a PATIENT IS STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT YOU? I advised all of them that I was just both injected with implants and was in severe distress. Did that cause them to do their job? NOPE!

I have witnessed many changes; upgrades and improvements to the facility as well as the hiring of more highly qualified specialists. Slowly and carefully dealing with the recent passing of my birth mother, my care team has advised and ordered many tests. Most of us are aware that roots run deep. My mom suffered with heart issues and one of those issues caused her death. I arrived early for my bloodwork and EKG. I have two follow up appointments next week and will keep you posted. Everyone is always so nice and professional. They take really good care in making me comfortable knowing my fear of needles. There is one thing that recently disappointed me. That is finding out that my primary care physician is retiring at the end of this month. Something I was not aware of. The receptionist kept stating that a letter was supposed to be mailed out. I'm happy I will get to see her next week, say goodbye and wish her well.
