Greek food is deceptively simple. It's not complicated cuisine--it's honest cuisine. And that's exactly why it's hard to get right. When Greek food misses, it really misses. When it hits, it reminds you why humans invented olive oil and fire. Tino's hits. The Greek salad alone is worth defending in court. Crisp, bright, properly acidic, unapologetically salty--this is not a sad bowl of lettuce pretending to be Mediterranean. Chicken is juicy, seasoned well and carved to order. (I will admit that on a few occasions, they might leave the heat on too long in the chicken since they've carved some pieces that are a little overcooked and dry.) We tried a few different things but just a few things stood out. I liked the lemon chicken soup a lot, it has orzo inside and was really rich. However, the chicken was a bit dry, and gyro didn't have much flavor. The tzaziki on top of the meat gave it more pizazz, and id recommend that. Pretty solid Mediterranean food and some of the best we have found since moving to Austin. The first time we tried, the store was completely empty and we were a bit hesitant to go inside... but grateful we did! You can dine or take with you and the first time, we ate in. We just went for the basics with Gyro sandwiches (one lamb and one chicken). And for a side, we had fries and shared a piece of the baklava for desert. The sandwiches were pretty delicious and definitely fresh. I read on another review they felt the meat was a bit dry and I would agree. It was tasty but the meat could have been a bit juicier. The sandwiches certainly came with an ample amount of meat. We ordered them loaded, but they fixings seemed to be lacking a bit. The lettuce and tomato weren't as fresh as I was expecting and surprisingly, just a little bit of red onion. And their tzatziki sauce was good, but again, I've had better. The fries were hot and fresh and not greasy at all. The baklava was epic! Overall, we were very satisfied and so much so... the next day we went back to try some other items. This time we ordered the spanakopita, hummus, and decided to try another Gyro sandwich with lamb. For starters, the spanakopita was some of the BEST I've ever had! The pastry was very flaky and the spinach & cheese were amazing. This was warm, fresh and again, some of the best I've ever had. But when it came to the hummus, we didn't even eat it. We both tried and it wasn't bad... but this isn't hummus I would order. It was kind of bland for hummus. And the Gyro sandwich this day was really no different than the previous day. It's tasty but not the best I've ever had and still agree with the other person that the meat is somewhat dry. And again, the toppings/fixings (tomato, onion, sauce) are not very fresh and they use them sparingly. This is a good place and pretty authentic. I realize we ordered via a third party delivery service. But having worked for those food services before, I know they're not allowed to open the bags or any packaging. The actual entrees were good (if not cold, but that's not the restaurant's fault). But we got 3x steamed veggies (very oversteamed at that) for our sides instead of 2x Spanakopita, 1x moussaka, and 1x dolmathes - also got a big serving of hummus in one food container (we'd ordered a small side, which we also got). Everything we ordered was all on the ticket taped to the bag, so they were obviously ignored. Pro tip to every restaurant manager, from someone who's worked food service plenty: if you're out of something, CALL THE CUSTOMER and offer alternatives! And if you order any extra side then that would be $2.50 each, so I would suggest anyone Make Your Own Plate. For my Veggie Plate, I ordered the following: Rice Tzadziki Soup: Lentil Soup - RECOMMENDED Lentil Soup reminded me of Indian Dal Tadka and tasted great. It tasted great when combined with rice. Sides: Falafel I had Falafel balls previously, but these were in a different shape, which tasted good. Spanakopita - RECOMMENDED This dish reminded me of Indian Samosas. Spanakopita was flaky and stuffed with spinach and cheese. It tasted super good. Pasta I ordered pasta thinking it would taste like traditional cheese pasta, but I was not impressed with it. Pita Bread The Pita Bread looked soft and fresh. We picked up our order and dined on the patio. The food was good, with fast service. The rice and lentil soup combination was the best. The staff were patient and explained the different dishes, as it was my first time trying Greek food. The prices were super reasonable. They also had validated parking. Got a lamb gyro for around $7, was STUFFED with meat! Absolutely delicious and I will be back. My only beef is they don't have baklava in a party serving size- you have to order individual servings at $3 each. Haven't tried them but I bet they are as amazing as the gyro. I don't write many reviews but just couldn't let my experience go with comment. This was my first time at this restaurant and I was craving Greek food so made the trip. First, the food is served Chipotle style, but Greek. The server barked orders at me asking me what I wanted and which sides I'd like. I ordered the chicken plate which came with a salad and 3 sides. I should've been more cognizant of the fact that only one couple was in the restaurant when I arrived at straight up dinner time on a weekend. The price of the food was good but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The salad greens were interspersed wjth greens that were past their prime. The salad dressing was tasty. But the chicken was dry and tasteless and overall all of the sides tasted like they'd been sitting out for hours or maybe we left over from the day before. Do not order from there. There was a huge dead horse fly buried in my salad. I'm so glad I was paying attention - I almost mistook it for an olive. This is hazardous food safety. And I'm not saying that the fly landed on the food and got trapped or something. It was wet, big, and hidden in the bottom of the salad, as if it had been there for awhile.. UPDATE: The owner just called me and yelled at me for my negative review. I explained that I don't need a refund. It's not about the $15 refund. It is only about the concern of food safety, and I do not want any of his future customers experiencing food safety issues, that he as the owner, should be aware of this issue. He then told me that when the food leaves his restaurant, it is perfect and no flies. But when doordash driver picks it up and looks in the boxes, they put the fly in. In what world? I've been coming here for over 5 years and this is hands down my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. If you're not sure what to order from the wide selection of items here, I've built what I feel is a perfectly complete meal and have ordered it for what must be over 50 times here and the consistency has never wavered. I get the chicken plate (which comes with three sides and a soup), 2 sides of tabbouleh, one side of babaganosh, and the lemon chicken soup (snag an extra lemon from the tea stand area and squirt that all over the tabbouleh & inside the soup if you're a big citrs fan). Once you're settled, layer a dollop of tzatziki & babaganosh ontop a slice of chicken, top it with some tabbouleh; and you have the most heavenly bite of Mediterranean food around. I'm not kidding when I say If I was forced to have 1 meal for the rest of my life, this is what i'd pick. Get here as early from their opening time as you can so you get those first few juicy slices off of the rotisserie. If you arrive later it will already be whittled down a lot and that interior chicken gets a bit overcooked, it's just how it works and isn't representative of the quality of the restaurant at all imo. read more

Tino's is casual dining geared more toward take-out then dine-in IMO (they do have tables if you want eat in). The main joy of Tino's for me are 4 fold: fast, inexpensive for what you get, actually good, and so many options! My go to is always the dinner Gyro Plate (lunch doesn't come with as many sides and is slightly less $). The Gyro Plate includes: Gyro, salad, choice of 1 of 2 soups (Lentil or Lemon Chicken Soup - both are meh - not my fave menu items), pita bread (suggest asking for additional order if you like to eat the rest of the meat the next day), AND choice of three sides...all for $10.99! That's a LOT of food folks and always works out to two meals for me (I don't mind leftovers). The Gyro meat is nicely grilled, juicy, flavorful and there is a lot of it on the dinner portion. It's not that frozen, prepackaged crap I've regrettably had at a few other places. I think I've pretty much run the gamut on choice of sides. None have been horrible, most are A-OK, and some are really good. The Tabouli is a stand out. Very fresh herbs, with cracked wheat cooked perfectly. Dolmathes are average; however, you can choose to order without meat in them if you choose. Spanakopita is small, but has flaky puff pastry and good filling. Falafel is not not awful. Good Greek is hard to come by in the ATX. For the counter service variety, Tito's get a solid 4 stars from me. Opa! read more

I started going to Tino's at the Cedar Park location. Since it has closed, I found this location. It is close to my home but getting out of the parking lot is difficult if you plan to go North on 183. My usual order is the Make your own plate. Chicken meat, a dolma (stuffed grape leaves), two spanakopita, and a salad. They do pile on the food. I always have enough for a second meal. I love the spanakopita with the spinach and feta. Salad is mixed with feta, olive, onions, and greens. My BF keeps wondering why he nevers gets an olive. okay, so he gets one but when he goes to get his drink, I eat it. Dolmas are good and it includes Tzadziki for dipping. As for the chicken, Hmmm tasty. My only issue is with the leftover I take home. After I heat it up, my cat comes running. He attacks my hand so he can get some. My cat is not into people food but this chicken drives him crazy. Makes me wonder?!?! Does Tino's marinate it in catnip? As for the other dishes. Their lentil soup is very good. BF likes the lemon chicken soup. Rice pilaf = Meh, ordinary. Baba Ghanouj = mushy and bland. Moussaka = Okay, but I've had better. I was looking to support a restaurant I used to frequent pre-corona so I ordered takeout. I was very disappointed when I arrived to see the person packaging the to-go orders was not wearing a face mask. When I told him I was cancelling my ordered he said "I have a mask" and picked one up to put on. I find it unbelievable that a restaurant would not follow safer practices to keep themselves and their customers safe and prevent the spread of this terrible disease. Attitude is everything. It's cooked on the traditional upright spit. I like mine crispy. It has a great taste. I usually go with the Lunch Gyro plate. It comes with a large helping of meat or chicken, salad or soup, and 3 sides. I go with the tabouli which is super fresh, the dolmathes, and the spanakopita. They have numerous other sides that are all good. Lots of selection to fit your specific wants. The pita bread is fluffy. The baklava is flaky with a generous amount of nuts and perfectly spiced.
