Yamas Greek Kitchen + Bar transports you to Greece at first glance. The Greece persona is alive and well. Very similar to Santorini, Greece the building is all white with bright pink flowers at the entry way, on the side of the building and the outside gazebo. There is a striking mural on the building façade as well as a captivating mural at the entry way. Inside interior has a tropical, don't worry be happy vibe. The restaurant is open and airy. Yesterday, I took a good, long-term friend (25+ years) out to lunch for her birthday. We started with the Mezze Pikilia Traditional sampler platter -Tzatziki, Spicy Feta, Hummus, Eggplant Salad (not a fan, but loved this one!), served with Grilled Pita. My friend had lamb chops and I had the salmon entree. The lamb chops, while cooked just a little too long, had explosive flavor. My salmon swimming in an olive mixture was perfect...enough said! We could not finish our appetizer or all of our entrees...very generous portions. Needless to say, the food was exceptional! Then they brought my friend a birthday cake with a sparkler... nice touch. The cake was next level good. Xen was a great server checking on us rather frequently to ensure our needs were being met. The restaurant manager also came over to check on us. This restaurant's food is authentically Greek...highly recommend it.

First visit to Yama's yesterday in a beautiful Spring Sunday. We sat inside cuz it gets hot so quickly. Service was slow. We didn't have anyone visit our table for 15+ minutes after were were seated, and we had a paid reservation. We finally got water and placed an order for drinks and food right then. Drinks took almost 30 minutes to get. The food was prompt, beautiful, delicious and well plated. We enjoyed our meal. I'd come a different day of the week next time They had a small brunch menu and a more substantial regular menu- both available at noon on a Sunday.

I found myself here again for plate breaking and other fun activities for their 3 year anniversary celebration this past weekend! We had a smaller group this time with the 6 of us and this time they had activities in their parking lot. Thankfully there was parking available next door at the church parking lot. We enjoyed great food and drinks inside. Our server was super helpful and ensured our drinks had the sugar/syrup removed so that we enjoyed everything. We then moved outside for the activities like dancing, plate breaking, tequila tastings, magician acts, delicious lamb tasting, and photos with donkeys. They also had some craft vendors there in case anyone wanted to buy things like jewelry, purses, etc. It was such a fun vibe and thankfully despite some short sprinkles/rain drops, the weather cooperated for the outdoor activities. I'm glad they are around to celebrate 3 years and I hope they are around to celebrate many more!!

Great ambiance, great service, great food. As other reviews have said, it gets loud in here! But the food and decor are beautiful and make it worth it. Transports you out of Texas for a couple hours.

Very, very cool, they nailed it with the design. Plenty of parking too. The food was good, honestly the Yamas chips were my favorite thing. I didn't get an entrée bc we always just order several things and pass it around. Upon walking in it gets progressively louder. I think this is the loudest place I've been in years. They do birthdays where the staff bring out a little flaming candle and sing and it was a lot. There must have been 6 birthdays last night. Of course people should celebrate that's not what I'm suggesting, but it was a lot. If you've been to Cala, it's like that. In my view, it is such a beautiful place the noise detracted from that. It's beyond a fun upbeat vibe inside, it's deafening. So go for the cute pics, but not if you want to actually talk with your friends and catch up.

I came here recently for a quick lunch. Luckily they weren't busy so I was able to grab a spot for a quick bite. I love that they have a fixe menu option for lunch. I got the salad either salmon entree. I did also get a side of hummus and pita bread. The hummus was creamy and savory. I added a touch of lemon to add some tang to it. It had roasted garlic so it had a great aroma to it and it paired well with the garlic pita bread. The salad had a light vinaigrette dressing tossed with avocado, feta, grapes, and dill. It was actually light and refreshing! The salmon was grilled to perfection and it paired well with the asparagus and green beans. Not sure what sauce it was but it was really good with a slight creaminess to it. The course ended with greek yogurt with honey and fruits. Overall the meal with very good! The service was fast and friendly. The space was also really cute for some photo ops outside.

Best Greek food in Austin! Decor is beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly and interesting. Fried feta was STELLAR!

Love the vibe! Pretty good drink options, and the servers were very attentive. The food was also quite impressive too. Laxano Dolmades was okay but the Eggplant Salad with Grilled Pita was so good!! I'd definitely go back to try out more dishes!

The atmosphere was great for a Friday night. After 9:00pm it seemed it turned into a club atmosphere. The music was lit! Food was good but not my favorite.

This place is delicious! Been here multiple times now and I love it everytime! I love the decor and ambiance. The service is always great. And most importantly the food is always delicious. Although on the pricier side, the portions are generous so it's a perfect place to come and share multiple dishes with the table. A few of our favorites are always the Yamas chips to start, the branzino which is perfectly cooked and the lamb chops and pastitsio. Either way, you can't go wrong! Oh and parking is easy in the church lot right next to it!

A Magical Escape to Greece in the Heart of Austin From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with huge smiles, genuine eye contact, and immediate attention. We didn't have a reservation, but we were still seated in the most beautiful spot in their garden, and this photo says it all. The vibrant bougainvillea, the Santorini-blue accents, the sun-washed whites, the breezy cushions... it truly feels like you've stepped off a plane and onto a Greek island. As soon as you arrive at Yemma's, you get the feeling you've left Texas completely. The décor is stunning in a way that makes you pause for a second and think, "Wait... am I still in Austin?" It's intimate, airy, and straight-up Mediterranean magic. Our waitress was professional, courteous, attentive, and intuitive. She quickly realized we were first-timers and gave us fantastic recommendations for both food and drinks. We ordered the spanakopita (spinach pie) and the steamed mussels, along with a spritz cocktail and a glass of white wine. Was it cheap? No, but this is Austin, and this is voted Austin's best Greek restaurant for a reason. Everything was beautifully prepared, packed with flavor, and truly memorable. I absolutely can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. So the next time you're craving a little day trip to Greece, without ordering a plane ticket, go to Yemma's. It's worth every moment.

This little slice of the Greek Islands in Austin is amazing! From beginning to end, a wonderful experience. Came here for Galentine Dinner on Valentine's Day. Had made reservations weeks prior. Glad we did because there would have been no way we could have gotten a table that night if we had just shown up. This place was packed but in a good way! Love the decor and the energy. The hostess was very welcoming. They sat us outside in the covered patio and was by the DJ. Had a very Bravo Housewives Moment! Our server was very informative. Had great suggestions. We ended up ordering the Fried Feta, The Plate with the Four Dips, Grilled Octopus for our starters. There was five of us... The Fried Feta was by far my favourite. Crispy on the outside and soft, hot and melting in the inside... The sauce was the perfect accent to the cheese. Our Entrees included the Seaford Pasta... Delicious, The Short Ribs... Comfort on a plate and The Lamb Chops... Perfectly cooked. Management came by and seemed genuinely interested in how we were doing. From somewhere, there was a round of shots that were complementary... Another Bravo Housewives moment Overall and in a nutshell... Amazing experience, beautiful restaurant and great hospitality. Suggest for a girl's night out, a sexy date or any sort of celebration. Looking forward for another amazing experience!

Pro-tip: Happy Hour is NOT on Fridays. We did make a reservation for earlier in the evening, thinking there was happy hour, but it turned out Fridays are not included. Yamas has a beautiful aesthetic, and it's clear they put effort into maintaining it's look (obviously a great insta background). We visibly saw staff keeping things orderly, wiping surfaces, and cleaning common (and uncommon) spaces. Food is delicious. We appreciate the family-style, allowing us all to share as a table. The Pikilia Traditional platter allowed us to try different spreads with pita (the spicy feta was my favorite) and the whole branzino, with lemon and capers, was perfect. Plentiful options, meeting the needs of all our guests. Shrimp Saganaki - chef's kiss! Shrimp, plum tomatoes, green peppers, crumbled feta, oregano, garnished with ouzo. We do look forward to returning to enjoy some more meat options, as we focused more on veggies and fish. The Pastisio (Mageirefta- a casserole type dish) reminded me of lasagna and was something new to try.

We had a reservation and the host sat us down immediately and was so friendly. Our server was there right away. Her service was just perfect ... friendly and not over the top. She was knowledgeable about the dishes and gave us suggestions. We had a mockingbird mocktail and my son a soda. The drink was perfect. We ordered the whipped feta, falafel and beef Lamb kefta. Everything came out really quickly. The falafel was absolutely delicious. The whipped feta was a hit with my son. The kefta was a little disappointing. A little bland and dry. I ordered the pannacotta my son the chocolate chocolate cake. I absolutely loved mine with the sorbet on top. My son loved his cake. Atmosphere wise the restaurant is beautiful and cozy and grand but the only complaint would be the music was too loud and it was hard to hold a conversation. For me it doesn't match a nice restaurant but rather a bar concept I would say it was great service and great food

The waitress didn't come by to refill our waters, I had to ask the staff. And then we were sitting around for about 30 minutes to ask for boxes, and even the check. I am not entirely sure what happened to the server, maybe they got distracted or got busy. But Aba is an expensive meal, and I expect more from this kind of establishment.

However, I'll think about coming here again because I didn't feel a good vibe with the service. We had to go look for someone to show us the table even though the place was empty for early lunch. Then, to get drinks or even the order was a problem. It took so much longer than usual. Our waitress was rude, and seemed bothered that we showed up. Then someone else came as the waitress and she was preoccupied with other tables and barely checked on us. A regular lunch which would've been one hour became almost two because of the lack of service. My friend had to stand and look for someone to give us a box to take out the good we couldn't eat because it was getting late and also to get the check because No one came in to check on us at all. THE BLACK AND WHITE: This place is always busy! We came here on a thursday afternoon for dinner and you first order at the front, then you get a number and the dishes get brought to you. The bread is a lil stale but that's not suppose to be the main part of the meal. The iskender was nice and hefty however the star of the show was the lamb beyti. Lamb was cooked perfectly and wrapped around the pita with a nice serving of yogurt. To round out the meal, we got a baklava cheesecake pistachio dessert for dessert. All desserts are made in house and daily. It was so good with the filo serving as the crust and the cheese being super creamy. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overlal the damage done was about $75 for the feast. Soups and entrees also were not hot, a slight warmth next to cool. The desserts were the highlight of the meal. The pistachio cheesecake was delicious, the carrot baklava great but tasted like a standard baklava, the layered honey cake wasn't bad, it was slightly dry in my opinion. Drove over 20 miles and not sure it's worth it unless they open one more northwest of Austin with larger space and better management. It's one of those places that's reliable and feels pretty consistent, knowing you're going to leave happy and full after eating here. The two times we've been there, theres always plenty of seating and are able to walk right in. It's a walk in and seat yourself experience and then you pay upon leaving. The staff keeps the dining area and buffet line consistently stocked and clean. They even provide hand sanitizer and gloves for you. Even when foot traffic picked up while we were there, the food was replenished quickly and didn't look picked over. Now let's talk food...Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and like it was made with care instead of just being "buffet food" an under seasoned. The variety is also amazing, and it's easy to build a plate for pretty much any type of diet whether you're keto, high protein, balanced, veggie-forward, vegan, etc... Some of our favorite dishes we keep coming back for: Shredded beef (SO good), Baked fish (tender and not fishy), Garlic baked chicken (wonderful crispy skin), Fried chicken, Baked kafta, Kafta kebab, Gyro meat, Roasted cauliflower, Eggplant, Greek salad, Fatoush, Kale Caesar salad, Zaatar pizza, Cheese pizza (pro tip: top it with shredded beef- a life changing buffet hack), Rice with lentils, Rice with mixed veggies. For the quality, variety and amount of food you get, this is easily one of the best deals in the city! It's rare to find a buffet that's both affordable and consistently this good! If I had one small wish, it would be for desserts to match how strong the rest of the food is. They're not bad, just a little more "fine" compared to how amazing everything else is. I've seen another Dimassi's (I think in Cali) that had a frozen yogurt machine and I'd LOVE to see that here because it would be the perfect finish! Make a cup and then crumble up some baklava on it! Overall we've LOVED it here and we'll absolutely keep coming back! Great food, clean, consistent, and worth it every time!

Between me, my husband, and my mom, we have a lot of overlap in what we like to eat, but we also have some pretty distinct preferences, and Demassi's is one of those places where that works. My husband really loves Middle Eastern / Mediterranean food. I generally do not. I tend to find the meats too dry, I don't particularly like the spice profile, and I also find a lot of dishes in that category to be overly sour. It's hard to explain, but there's often a sharp, tangy acidity that I don't enjoy. For whatever reason, I don't have that issue at Demassi's at all. Here my husband can get his fix of dry, spiced meats, while I'm happy eating from the huge selection of rice dishes, cooked veggies, and soups. As far as protein goes, I actually really like the fish here, so I almost never eat the meat and still leave satisfied. It usually feels like a healthy pescatarian day for me, which I like. Then there's my mom, who just loves the abundance and variety of a buffet. She's happiest when she can sample a little bit of everything, build plates with lots of small bites, and then go back for more. Demassi's is perfect for that. On top of all of this, it's very reasonably priced, especially for lunch or on weeknights. It's always clean, the staff is consistently courteous, and they are really on top of bussing tables, which matters a lot to me at a buffet. Dirty dishes piling up are never an issue here. Overall, it's a solid, reliable spot for us and a place we're always happy to suggest when we're trying to please multiple people with different tastes.

Although I saw two servers, the manager also helped out where he could. It took a while for us to be acknowledged and for our orders to be taken. However, the food came out quickly after we ordered. The place has a large patio area as well as indoor seating, plus a sizable bar with TVs. I felt the food was fresh and well-prepared. I do wish there had been more shrimp in my pita and that the price was lower. I paid $19 for a pita with just three shrimp, and there was an extra charge for the salad instead of fries. Since we don't eat out as much as we used to, I'm not sure when we will return.

We spent around $600 with tip and fees for 5 (mixed grill, two apps, two drinks each); and while the food was delicious the meats were luke warm not piping hot, our server while very friendly was not the best at giving suggestions (basically she said everything is good lol) and wasn't able to split the check 2/3 and 1/3 instead of 50/50 ("... I don't know how to do that"), and the cocktails while tasty didn't really feel special enough to be $21-25 each. It was a very enjoyable experience I just don't know that it lived up to the price tag. For that price I'm looking for exceptional not just very good. That being said the food was delicious! Pricey but pretty good portions. The server said the mixed grill was good for around 4 people, but with two apps it was actually a little too much food for the 5 of us. Mixed grill ($220): -Rosewood Wagyu Strip and Lamb Chops: tie between these two for the best dish; they were both juicy and tender and the sauces were delicious. Not served piping hot but they were so good I didn't really mind. -Harissa Marinated Beef Tenderloin: great flavor- a tad dry. -Spiced Lamb Kefta: also dry, I liked it best with the yogurt sauce. -Red Pepper Chicken Thigh: delicious, one of my fav kabobs. -Herb & Garlic Shrimp: tasty and not overcooked -Charred King Trumpet mushroom: loved the veggie option! they mushrooms were substantial and the sauce was great. -Crispy Shallot Hummus: very good- loved the crispy shallots in particular! -Manti Dumplings: top app- I would 100% order this again the dumplings were delicious and the sauce/yogurt on top of them was the best, we wiped up every drop with the pitas! -The pita bread was hot, fresh, and delicious and our service kept on offering more, so I don't know if they've changed their policy but my experience was not the same as reviews that said only one pita per person. We refused extra pitas 3 times I think! Cocktails- everything we tried was quite good, but again there wasn't the pizaz or just 'blown away by the flavor' to feel that the crazy price was totally justified. We tried: Spanish G&T (very refreshing- don't chew on the juniper berries lol), Banana Bread Old Fashioned (pretty good even for someone who doesn't much like whiskey!), Bonfire on a Beach (fun, smokey, love the harissa on the side), Peach Martini (teensy bit sweet for me but good). The manager stopped by a few times to check on us and our server was very attentive. She did give us good service its just for the high price I would expect some more detailed suggestions on drinks, being able to split the check other than 50/50 (or at least ask someone instead of just saying 'I don't know how'). It was friendly and enthusiastic service just not 'wow this truly is fine dining' service. Outside of the restaurant, parking is a bit of a pain but that is normal for down town. We parked at the Laz garage half a block away- $8 for 2 hrs instead of the $27 for valet.

Well after looking at several restaurants on yelp I found that most restaurants were Mediterranean but more middle eastern than Greek. Until I saw Opa. Well my wife and I gave it a shot. And we were pretty well pleased. We had a Greek salad where all the ingredients were super fresh with a nice pita bread and a grape leaf and a 2 nice pieces of feta. I also had a chicken gyro. Again all super fresh veggies filled the pita wrap and very tasty chicken. They had outdoor seating for our dog who was our dinner guest. But you have to order inside. Which I did. The person who took the order was busy but did a great job. We asked for a couple of large glasses of water with lemon and she promptly took care of us. There were small glasses out on the table but we wanted large ones cus we didn't want to keep walking inside. No problem. Food arrived after a short while and was delicious. They have a nice parking lot however getting in and out can be a little bit crazy when you have everyone from Austin rushing home. Had to wait a long time to get to exit the parking lot cus not one Texan driver would give us a break and let me in the exit lane. Next time I see a Texas license plate in New York I will remember that. But I will still give them a break.

Parking was a bit of a challenge but was able to park on the curb out front. Once inside, we placed our order at the counter and pre-paid and were given a number. They have an extensive menu with traditional Greek dishes and all-day breakfast options. As well as a full bar offering aromatic coffee, hand-crafted cocktails, fine wine, and a selection of local and international beers. The restaurant was busy we were able to place our order in a timely fashion. I opted for a cocktail along with lentils and rice and added chicken as the protein. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. After ordering, we sat outside in the most cozy and intimate outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, after waiting 30+ minutes, we never received our food. When we checked at the counter, the interaction felt pretty condescending, staff insisted the order had already been brought out even though we never received it and still had our number with us. At that point we had to cancel the order so we wouldn't miss our show. I do appreciate that they offered a full refund without issue, but overall the experience left us disappointed, especially with how the situation was handled.

The waitstaff were extremely attentive and welcoming--two men and one woman--and made us feel comfortable right away. One of the male servers took the time to walk us through much of the menu, thoughtfully explaining the different dishes, which we really appreciated. We started with a shareable appetizer: the pick-three dips with pita. The portion came with plenty of pita, and we chose the eggplant dip, a split pea-based dip, and a whipped potato dip. While all were good, the whipped potato dip was my favorite--it was unique and especially delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the vegetable skewer. The presentation was beautiful, and the dish was very flavorful. It also came with pickled vegetables, which added a nice balance. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp dish that was more stew-like; he mentioned the tomatoes tasted very fresh and really enjoyed it. Overall, the meal was filling, well-portioned, and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be coming back.
