They've done a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier. The staff is very friendly and accommodating if you need reschedule. They don't try to push the higher grade film which costs more, most places in my experience will try to upsell you on the more expensive stuff. Almost zero bubbles and the few that were there went away on their own as they should. I used this place for my tint years ago when they were at the rt 50 location and they were awesome. But i got new cars and wanted tint done recently so i made an appt at the new location and man was my experience totally different. Lots of spot on my tint where dust is visibly stuck under the tint and multiple tiny scratches. Not a terrible just but no good either especially considering the cost. Front desk was a little unprofessional as well..kept cursing while explaining things to me...to the point i waS uncomfortable. Wont recommend or go back to this place again read more

I just got my second vehicle done by the fine folks at TintFX. Let me say, they've had 5 stars for over 5 years for a reason. The quality of their product is simply amazing. They're a certified 3M dealer and they also have SunTek films available too. My previous review talks more about the films so this time, I'd like to talk about their customer service. Erik, Ashley, and the rest of the team are super friendly and very professional. The folks here will do pretty much whatever they can to take care of you. You can easily request a quote or book an appointment over the phone or via e-mail and they're quick to get back to you if you don't end up reaching them over the phone on the first try. What I love about coming to the shop is that they make you feel right at home while you wait for your vehicle to get tinted. Erik offered my bottled water, coffee, and even some chocolate. They have a TV in the waiting area along with one of the comfiest couches I've ever experienced in a waiting area. It's easy to doze off while you're waiting. Best of all, I don't know how they do it, but they even have Bounty paper towels and quality toilet paper in their bathroom for their customers. They must be doing well to be able to afford Bounty paper towel over that commercial grade brown paper towel. I don't blame them though if they decide to go that route haha. TL;DR - There's a reason why they've maintained 5 stars over the years and have countless returning customers. This is a tough one as the owners and staff are very friendly, and they work quickly. Overall my experience at Tint FX has been very positive. An example of this is when I had some soap residue between my third brake light and the rear window, and had two members of the staff working their butts off trying to get rid of it. The brake light is almost flush with the window, so they were only partially successful, but I don't blame them as I watched them really give it their best. Probably the most important factor in getting a tint job is the tint installation itself. I highly value service and value too, but in a business like this where they basically aren't getting repeat business from you until you have another car to tint, installation itself is the most highly weighted factor in my opinion. In this category I have to rate them average. Most of the car came out well, but a couple of months later I'm looking at multiple windows with small bubbles, and one small spot that looks like it has creases in the tint that can be seen from the exterior. This is not my first tint job, so I have what I believe to be a reasonable baseline expectation for what human hands are capable of. In this case I would say it's an average job. I brought them a clean 1 week old car and they gave me back a good tint job with more imperfections than I expected based on previous experience. read more

Hands down, the best in town. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and expeditious. I'm not going to lie, I switch up cars pretty frequently so I've patroned quite a few shops in my day. However, out of all the shops in the DMV area, Tintfx offers the highest quality with the most affordable pricing. The attention to detail is incredible and this is the best tint job I've gotten by far. The shop even has a large waiting area with comfortable seating and TV. I've taken 3 cars here, 2 of 3 had an issue that required me to come back (multiple times for each). I'd held off on writing this review, but the damage on one of my cars is so bothersome, I can't even glance at the damage without being reminded of TintFX. Car 1: we did 20% film all around for $635 for 3M Crystalline. 3M Crystalline is a pretty premiere tint film that has a high level of heat rejection. There were several bubbles on each window - I waited 2 weeks before contacting them to make sure the tint was settled. I emailed them to voice my concern (with photos), they scheduled an appointment for me to come back. The appointment wasn't really much of an appointment as much as it was one of the guys who worked there inspecting my claims. It REALLY felt like we were negotiating what they would do to resolve my issue, if anything at all. I pointed out the bubbles on the back window and the guy said, "it's all the way in the back so it's not really that noticeable anyway"... They also mentioned something about how it's difficult to make rear windows perfect, especially on sedans. All right, so they clearly don't want to waste their time fixing the back window. I'll settle for the front 2 windows to be fixed (really excessive bubbling). Pick up the car, noticed discoloring in the fronts but figured it needed to settle. On a road trip, I had a sunburn and could feel the irritation on my arm from sunlight heat coming through the window, something Crystalline shouldn't allow given its high heat rejection capabilities. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the front windows were an entirely different hue than the rest of the car. Now it occurred to me that they replaced my front windows with a different tint, not the Crystalline I'd been price gouged for. They insisted that it wasn't possible, but they were willing to accommodate my request since I wasn't happy. Got the 3rd set of film on after waiting 2.5-3 hours on a weekday afternoon, bubbles are apparent (not as bad as the first time), but I ultimately gave up -- it was "good enough" and I didn't want to keep driving to Vienna. I ultimately ended up taking this vehicle to another local tint shop to replace the work (yes, I've now had to spend over $1,000 in tint for this $22K car). Car #2: brand new car, temp tags still on. Just 20% Crystalline on the front ($175). Told it would take 1.5 hours to complete, and when I got there - I was 3rd in queue. It took 2.5 hours, so if you go make sure you plan to stay longer than expected. Get the car back and didn't roll down the windows for a couple of weeks. There were bubbles, of course, but not as bad as car #1. 2 weeks later, I roll down the windows and it sounded like someone was crumpling up paper. It also looked like someone cut the film with a dull blade. It looked absolutely horrible. I also noticed that they damaged the plastic casing on one of the tweeters, clearly somebody didn't care about what they were doing. Now I have jacked up tint, and a gouge on the plastic housing on one of my speakers in a brand new car ($52k and less than 250 miles when I brought it in). I sent them the photos, expressing my dissatisfaction. They were actually apologetic this time around, and said something about how they've been backed up in workload and that their staff were pretty much done with vacation and they'd fix up the tint right away. Not sure if a heavy workload justifies careless and damaging work... I've put a lot of thought into whether or not I even wanted them to touch my car again. They already damaged it, they keep sending me back to Vienna every time they screw something up. I decided that I'd rather set the money on fire and take my car to another Tint shop because it was worth it to me to have the job done right. I've seen all of these fantastic reviews about TintFX ranting and raving about the quality of service that they deliver to customers, which is what drew me here in the first place. I've been to TintFX 6 times for 3 brand new cars spread across 6 months in total. The lack of care was consistent for half a year. You would think given the series of problems I'd been given as a customer, they'd have told the staff "be extremely careful and attentive with this one" - nope. I wanted to get my front windshield redone because the va state inspection sticker was moved and I had a bald spot right in the center. Erik and his staff took very good care of me and redid the front and side windows (I wanted to go darker). Happy with the final look (see pictures). I had my auto windows tinted here. I called and was given several quotes and all were well within reason. I made an appointment and was able to have the tint installed on all four windows as well as the side and back windows in less than an hour. There is a comfortable waiting area with a large television, so don't worry about not having anywhere to sit while waiting, if you choose to do so. There were several choices between brands and levels of tint to choose from. I chose middle of the way and so far, I am satisfied with the quality of the work that they did as well as the amount of light that's not coming into the vehicle now. Firstly, I wanted to say that customer service is exceptional. Especially dealing with Ashley!! My car was broken into where the front passenger window was smashed. This time I decided I wanted to have the legal limited of tint for the front windows so they removed the front driver window for free. I decided to go with the CXP which 8 months later I am still very happy. They did an amazing job. I hate to complain about a small business but just wanted to point two things out. Firstly, I noticed they forgot to put the plastic covering for the inside door handle back in... luckily I was easily able to snap it right back in. Secondly, granted it was raining when my car was being serviced but I noticed someone was smoking inside the garage near my car. Sure enough, there was slight smell of smoke in my car which I am allergic to. Luckily, it had stopped raining so opening all the windows on the drive home removed the slight smell of smoke that was in the car. I think they should be more mindful of smoking near a customers car as some people do have serious allergies with cigarette smoke (for me my throat swells up). For this reason I am rating it 4 stars instead of 5. Don't let this deter you though, I would still go back again for future tinting needs for sure. read more

I drive by this place a few times a month, and every time I do I remind myself that I need to leave them a review. I took my 2004 Tahoe into them because my old tint was so badly faded that it made it dangerous to drive. They took my truck the same day and turned it around in an hour and a half. These guys did a good job. A little on the expensive side- around $150 for CXP on two front windows and a front visor tint. But the car looks great! I was, however, really disappointed that my brand new car was returned reeking of cigarettes. Took over 2 days for the smell to dissipate. Well, it was a pretty funny story cuz all the while, I thought I spoke to Eric to schedule a 4pm appointment on Tuesday, apparently not! I'm not on his list whatsoever but I told him we're on our way cuz I spoke to him in the morning and I am supposedly on the schedule. Had them tint my Tesla Model 3. They CAN do the back window in 1 piece, but I had them do just up to the line that comes stock. They made it look nice. You can't tell form the outside that there's a line. While I waited Erik and everyone was real nice. The job took a bit longer than I thought it would and Erik even offered to buy me lunch while I waited. Nice group of guys there at the shop and they do a good job. Let me start by saying that I have gotten two vehicles fully tinted prior to my experience at this shop. A couple friends and myself found this shop and read the reviews. It seemed like a solid choice given the reviews, so we called and scheduled to get several of our vehicles done at the same time. Service was relatively fast considering we brought them four vehicles to tint. After they had finished the job, a quick inspection showed that our vehicles were poorly done. A friend had to have one window re-tinted three times because of debris let under the tint. For my vehicle, all I wanted was the front two windows to match the rear, which was tinted from the factory. I asked the tinter to put on 20% tint to match the rear factory tint. He recommended that I put on 35% instead because it would match the factory glass because factory uses 35% tint. I chose to listen to him against my better judgment because after all, he was the professional. He was definitely completely wrong. My front windows came out much lighter than my rear windows. So much for the match that I was looking for. Additionally, there are tons of bubbles and some debris under my tint on the two windows I had them do. I expected some of them to go away after the tint had dried, but it has been over a month since the tint job and the bubbles are still there. Lastly, they left my vehicle a mess! The solution they used to clean the windows was left all over the inside of the doors. There were long marks where the solution had dripped all the way down my door. This being a professional shop, I at least would expect them to clean up after themselves when they finished. I shouldn't have to clean the mess after paying the money I did for the tint. Overall, I think they rushed the job and it was poorly done. I am not satisfied, especially compared to the other two tint jobs I have had done in the past. I don't even trust to take my vehicle back to this shop to have them try to fix the poor job they did. Not recommended. Edit - Emily, Thanks for taking time to respond to my review of my tint job. You are right in my incorrect verbiage of the word "tinter". I simply used that term meaning an employee of the shop, and not necessarily an actually tinter. When talking about the solution that was left on my vehicle, I am referring to the interior of my vehicles doors. There was very clearly many drip marks going down the inside of both my front doors. There was also over-spray on my mirrors but this is the exterior so I didn't expect you to wipe this up. When I mentioned that you're shop seemed rushed, I didn't mean that the job was pushed out the door in a hurry. I simply meant that the installer didn't take the steps to clean after themselves and complete the job to the standards of the shop. Perhaps they were otherwise occupied that day, I'm not sure. You question my credibility as a real customer in your shop. I just went out to my vehicle and pulled the warranty card for the tint out of my glove box. I will shorty upload a picture of it to help your concern that I am a competing business. Additionally, the tint wasn't done under the "Matt" or "Matthew". Just because I used that name on Yelp doesn't mean that's the name that I used in the shop. Again, my use of the word "tinter" was incorrect. I simply meant an employee of the business. I decided to write my review today because yesterday was a rather nice day in NOVA and I decided to wash my vehicle. While doing this I noticed the quality of the tint as I hand washed my windows. I hope that I am the exception for your business. I never wish to be negative, however, I felt that I was mislead by reading the other reviews. I needed to get my windows tinted and, of course, I checked on Yelp to see where I should go. I called to make an appointment and was able to get one on a Saturday about 2 weeks out. If you are able to go during the week, you will probably get an appointment much faster. When I drove over, I had a little difficulty finding the place. It is located behind a small car dealership and you can't easily see it from the road, especially if you are driving east on 50. There's also not really a sign at the entrance of the driveway indicating that it's back there. The guys are very friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a variety of options for you to choose from with different price points. And they're fast! They can get the work done in about an hour, if you have an appointment. And I definitely recommend that you have one or at least call ahead. Overall, they did a great job. I really love how they put a sticker across the window buttons to prevent you from rolling down your window. What a brilliant idea! read more

She's a pleasure to speak with and is very knowledgeable about their product line. She suggested Suntek CXP for my dad's new Mazda 5 and said to come in the next day at noon. I called the next day and spoke to Erik. I had to cancel because the dealership couldn't deliver the car that day as promised. He said "No problem at all." Car was delivered on 12/19. I called and spoke with Erik and he said to come at 10:00am the next morning. Perfect! I got there on time and the guys immediately checked me in. I decided on 20 in the back and 35 in the front. I'm used to waiting around for a few hours while stuff like this gets done, so I started shooting the sh*t with Erik. He's a really personable guy. We both grew up in NoVa and we're about the same age. Then, just like that... after only 49 minutes, he said "All right, you're all set!". I said "Are you f'ing kidding me?". The Mazda 5 has 11 windows. But he had 3 guys working on it all at once, so they were able to knock it out in under an hour on a busy Saturday morning. I actually ended up leaving 30 minutes after they had finished, because we were talking so much about the auto industry (the green phase of the 90's, and the gold phase of the early 2000's).
