We've loved Tintoque for dinner for years, so it was a fun surprise to discover that their brunch is just as incredible and maybe even more special in a different way. Not many people talk about their brunch, but they should. It is easily one of the best hidden gems in Puerto Vallarta. Every dish is beautiful, creative, and full of flavor. From the fresh bread and pastries to the main plates, everything feels intentional and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell the same care and creativity that goes into their dinner menu shows up at brunch too. The presentation is stunning, and the flavors are just as impressive. What really sets brunch here apart is the value. For the quality, the experience, and the level of cooking, it is an amazing deal. It feels like a high end experience without feeling stuffy or overpriced. It is the kind of place you want to linger, enjoy the view, and take your time. If you already love Tintoque for dinner, you owe it to yourself to try brunch. And if you have never been, brunch is the perfect introduction. It is truly one of the best brunch experiences in Puerto Vallarta and we keep coming back for more.

Been wanting to go to Tintoque since FOREVER lol but we always end up trying new restaurants in Versalles since it's closer to our home. First off there's street work being done just outside. So don't wear your stilettos just yet lol As we entered, all the awards and recognitions received by the restaurant is on display. Very cozy reception area. We were seated promptly. We were given small towels (just like in most Japanese restaurants), and a refreshing shot of Tuba (coconut wine with small pcs of cucumber). I want pitcher of that please! We were served an amuse bouche.....it's a canapé that's beautifully presented and DELICIOUS! Now I'm very confident that's we're in for a treat! We ordered grey goose martinis, a guava vodka drink and pisco sour (not on list). Great job by the mixologist! For starters we ordered blue fin tuna, the one with ants lol, and chicken livers. For our entrees we ordered the burger and rib eye prime and a side order of rice. ( I have to have my rice!) Everything was delicious, great presentation and food well seasoned. A couple of dishes were a tad salty but delicious nonetheless. Shout out to our servers Alexis and David!!! Excellent and very attentive service. They made our dining experience very memorable and worth every moment we were there. Can't wait to bring our friends and family next time we're in Puerto Vallarta!

Somewhere in there is a perfectly-done red snapper!

We went here for my birthday. This was one of the best meals i have ever had. The ambiance was perfect and the service was spectacular. The prices were great too. We started with 2 specialty cocktails that were delicious. Our appetizers were a tostada with fresh tuna tartar and a mushroom wrapped enchilada. Both were fantastic. My husband had the fried chicken and i had the catch of the day. We loved them both. We shared a sticky pudding for dessert. We will definitely go back when we return to Puerto Vallarta.

This is an actual fine dining restaurant from top to bottom. The food, service and ambiance are impeccable.

Finally got a chance to try this one. Last time we were there two years ago I got sick and wasn't able to make dinner so really built up anticipation and it was worth it. It just a completely unique dining experience to anything else in PV and that's saying a lot for such a culinary town. All the food there was made with tender loving care and delivered by a great weight staff that really knew what they were talking about. Please make sure that you try to request a table on the patio. We were celebrating a birthday so they were very sweet and put us right at the lip of the patio overlooking the river and we got to watch all the little stray cats run around which was entertaining.

Born in Puerto Vallarta, but globally trained, Chef Joel Ornelas' Tintoque offers indigenous Ingredients with a wide range of inspirations in a riverside room with the sort of service befitting Michelin-starred eateries in Asia and Europe. Offered as a tasting or a la carte experience, the latter well-suited to large groups willing to share, Tintoque opened in 2016 and has frequently been cited as one of the best Restaurants in Mexico by publications including Guia Mexico Gastronomico ever since. A white-tablecloth space with an open kitchen, high ceilings and tiles magnifying sounds but never too loud, it is with a focus on local Spirits that Cocktails take on lot of complexity that pairs well to opening flavors such as two types of Fish Tostada including faultless Bluefin in Peanut Adobo. Intrigued by "High Fermentation" Bread, essentially toasted Sourdough adjacent aged Butter, a Bean and Cheese Tamale with Mushrooms also fared well while Marlin Kebabs unfortunately got a little lost in assertive Tzatziki and Feta. Better with Fried Chicken in something akin to Bravas Sauce, as well as Grilled Amberjack not unlike Steak in its taste and texture, Ornelas' Esquites seek to steal the spotlight despite their vegetarian nature thanks to Mushrooms and Cheese. Agreeable to offering a Tasting Menu addition a la carte, Bone Marrow Custard, Beef Fat Caramel and Foie Gras mesmerizing beneath a shard of Sugar, Cream Cheese Pudding exceeds expectations while Toffee Pudding served as a Donut is benefited by a scoop of housemade Ice Cream.

This was probably our one "nice" meal when we were in PV. We made advance reservations online, which was easy enough. The restaurant itself has lovely and hip. Minimalistic. There's indoor seating (with AC) or there's outdoor seating on the patio with lovely little lights and surroundings. We each did the tasting menu, which included "snacks," 6 courses, pre-dessert, and then desserts. The tasting menu was $2,106 (pesos) per person, which is about $116 (USD) a person. All the food was lovely and delicious. Bc it's a course menu, keep in mind that the food is bite sized pieces and that they are brought out in a measured tempo. You will get full, but just give it some time. With each dish, the staff explained what was in the dish and instructions on how to eat it. We also did one wine pairing to share for $1,500 (pesos), which is about $83 (USD) a person. A barrage of white wine came out for the most part. I think there was only 1 red wine that came out. With tip, our meal came out to about $375-$400 (USD). Just letting you know since I was a bit shocked that our meal would be that expensive in Mexico... However, it is technically much cheaper than tasting menus in the States. Overall: Lovely, kind staff. Good food. I'd recommend if you're looking for a nice restaurant in PV outside your resort/hotel. However, keep in mind the price!

This was our splurge meal in Puerto Vallarta and well worth it. Lovely setting inside, and out on the patio, where we were seated. We opted for the 9 course tasting menu, expertly served and described by Alexis. He was very accommodating when we asked him to slow down the courses a little. Our favorites were the crab gringa with Thai sauce and bacon, and the tomato/Ovni cheese/tamarind vinaigrette and mint. Coconut water sorbet and the vanilla flan were perfect to end the meal, though the coconut Cuala petit four was an unusual texture and flavor.

Fish: fresh snapper that was incredible. Accompanying broth like flavors were mild to last the fish shine. 4.5 stars

Stellar Mexican fine dining in a small boutique like elegant space with such creative dishes and complex flavors. 4.25 stars Food: 4.5 stars Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 3 (expensive, but high quality food) Opentableable: yes Return worthiness: maybe, only with true fine dining fans Eve award: best Mexican Asian pork fusion dish Highlights: - Piglet cheek with red curry agua chile and fresh coconut: one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. So many layers of complex flavors and texture. Acid for tang, slight heat, smoothness of the large fresh coconut slices, tenderness of the small pork pieces, and some crunch with thin daikon and peppers. Divine. 5 stars - Chicken Milanese with tomatillo pomodoro: super crispy textured exterior yet well cooked chicken interior. Loved the light green tomatillo sauce. 4.5 stars - Grilled fish with chiles: several pieces of fresh snapper that was incredible. Accompanying broth like flavors were mild to last the fish shine. 4.5 stars - Cocktails: all very different and I got one with crispy bacon that was light and not too sweet I really enjoyed. 4.5 stars - Sticky toffee pudding: not at all expecting this on a menu in Mexico but it was a favorite of the table. 4.5 stars - Amuse: believe was a tuna based item on a soft piece of toast and a nice lime flavor. 4 stars - Breads: fluffy sourdough, croissants, and pita breads were part of our meal and they were all fantastic. In the extra great order there was one with fennel that didn't seem necessary as the pure flavors were good as is. 4 stars - Corn truffle cheese: a main item that was rich but so delightful and the truffle took the backseat to the corn which I loved. Hard black bits in that I found hard to eat. 4 stars - Burrata: creamy hefty ball of burrata with croissants on the side. 4 stars - Dining space: elegant small dining room with high ceilings and a patio with lights next to a bit of water. Open kitchen which seemed to run smoothly. - Wine: we got a bottle of Malbec that was delicious, a glass of French champagne, and glasses of port. Midlights: - Short rib: most expensive item on the menu and was just ok. Not too tender or full of flavor. Also the other side of the large bone had a sausage that wasn't on the menu or explained to us so not sure if that was an impromptu change. 3 stars - Bluefin tuna tostada: crispy corn topped in tons of green herbs and some hidden spicy raw peppers. Fish was cooked in a tuna adobo to put on top. First few bites were fine but ended up being too spicy for my friend and I to continue eating. 3 stars - Sizing is a bit misleading as the starters and first and a decent size and the mains are portioned for many. - Accommodations for pickier eaters: I researched prior to coming for their approach to making accommodations to the menu especially for younger ones since my son is so picky and recognized it's fine dining. Many past diners wrote reviews noting the staff was happy to create items for them which led me to feel ok booking the restaurant. My son is 13 so not a child and when I saw chicken on the menu I asked if it was possible to create a version plain without sauce. The waiter declined then directed me to order the fish, but he doesn't eat seafood. He then resigned to reluctantly ask the chef. My son ended up getting chicken breast and was happy with it so glad it ended up working out. Lowlights: - Service was spotty for this level of establishment: a very long time to get our last course, tried to give us a different tables' cocktails, and when asked if there was anything they were able to make plain for my son he just said a curt "no." San Francisco prices I wasn't quite expecting though we did over-order as all plates were larger than expected to share. Bill was ~$250 per person and mid-range wines were $200. - Chocolate cake bites as last parting item was dry and lacked flavor which was a sad ending to a stellar meal. Ended up enjoying our meal as the food was outstanding but a few things during our experience fell a bit short.

Our group visited Tintoque after hearing all the hypes about it from friends and others that went to PV for so many times. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, which also has a vintage vibe that is suitable for family and friends gathering. The price is pretty expensive imo, but the dishes are not that special. My bf and I ordered a la carte with the bread + butter, dumpling, flat bread, and the lamp for main course. All the other dishes are normal and not worth the price, but their lamp is outstanding. There are complementary small bites from the chef; we got one for starter and another for dessert. The portion here is big, especially the lamb which can feed up to 4 people. We would come back here for the lamb!!!

WOW! Tintoque is an awesome experience in Puerto Vallarta. If you have the time, this place is not to miss! The experience, from start to finish, was superb. First, I tried a drink that was topped with chopped walnuts - it was the best alcoholic drink I have ever had. From there, we were torn about the tasting menu, but opted to make our own menu, which did not disappoint. Both appetizers were incredible; we had the empanada and the scallops. I almost opted to swap my entree for more of them. If you can only choose one, be sure to grab the scallops. For dinner, both entrees were stunningly amazing. My pork enchilada was one of the best I have ever had. Even as I expected excellence, I was not let down by the food. A quick scoop of lavender ice cream rounded us out - definitely a perfect moment to lead us out into the night.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. Vegans are easy please. Give them clear marked options, even if there is one option, we are pleased. This place had a few clearly marked options plus the staff was fully aware and can provide suggestions. The only downside it is a cash only place. Guacamole and chips - fantastic. The guacamole freshly prepared and chips fresh fried. Amazing. The 3 types of vegan tacos we got were vegan chorizo, mushrooms and cactus (trying for the fist time). The vegan chorizo was the best, slightly spicy but not overly. The poblano peppers were predictable but very good. The onions with it were a good addition. Nicely seasoned and prepared. The cactus was good, we found that it was less seasoned. Just stir fried cactus. The star of all the three types tacos was the fresh blue corn tacos. We could have those everyday. The other superb tasting was the salsas and fresh toppings. 4 types of salsas, white onions and cilantro. The salsa were of varying different levels of heat and even the mildest salsa was the best. The virgin margarita and virgin mojito were great. Margarita being slightly better even though we love mint.
