Some of the tequilas we sampled

We had the best experience during our first tequila tasting at Oscar's in PV, with Saùl as our guide. He was funny, knowledgeable, and not pushy. Though it was a free tasting, we still bought two bottles and left a tip because of how generous and personable he was. The tequila itself was incredible, from their extra añejo to the fruity cocktails. Also, it was hot and humid outside, but the restaurant is seated right on the water, leaving a cool breeze from the ocean, making it very relaxing and enjoyable. There weren't many people there at the time, so we were seated immediately upon arrival. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great tequila tasting experience.

Wow !! This is the spot to stop for a bite in Puerto Vallarta!! Open air covered seating . With a view of the ocean on one side and river on the other. Beautiful birds swimming by as you eat. Just wow!! José our waiter was very attentive our order was brought out correctly. Ok the food We started with guacamole. The chips were crispy and delicious to accompany the creamy texture of the guacamole get it you won't be disappointed you have to get the whole red snapper it's the signature dish of the city. Our was perfectly crisp to go with the bright pico de gallo and cubes or avocados. Tortillas on the side fresh so can make your own fish tacos We only ordered water and ice as it was too early for us to drink. The tea was fresh brewed and excellent. José Brought out a bottle and poured for us both. The bathrooms are clean and the best the doors go all the way with no peep holes I love that!! Overall a more than enjoyable experience!!

We had dinner at sunset on the patio and it was absolutely beautiful! The service was excellent and professional and the food and drinks were wonderful. I ordered off the vegetarian menu and got the Vegan Huarache. It was so fresh, beautifully presented and one of the best meals I had during our stay! Thank you Oscar's, for having a creative and delicious menu for vegans and vegetarians.

We stopped in for the Tequila tasting, which I highly recommend. It's free, though you're expected to buy a bottle. The bartender taught us a lot about tequila, like how to drink it properly, the characteristics of Mexican tequila vs US tequila, and the different types of tequila. Overall, we had about 8 samples-worth of tequila that had us feeling great. Four were pure tequilas, while the other 4 were flavored (like coffee). They were all incredible and so much better than US tequila. Definitely worth trying out. It's on the little island so you have beautiful views of the canal and the ocean. We did choose to buy a bottle. By some freak accident, our bottle completely shattered within all the wrapping. The cork and bottle neck were fine, but everything else was shards. We can't think of what the heck could have happened - it was wrapped and we were gentle, so again, freak accident. We didn't think they'd do anything about it, but we passed the following day asking if it was common. They said no, but offered us a sample as condolences and we went to move on. As we were leaving, a bartender chased us and said that after talking to his manager, if we bring in the broken bottle they will replace it. So the next day, we stopped in with our broken bottle and they replaced it - which was so generous and unexpected. The bottle was double wrapped and made it home safely. They truly care about customer service here. Great service and great tequila.

A wonderful happy hour experience with incredibly friendly staff. Definitely pricy food wise, but I imagine it has a wonderful view at night. The 2 for 1 deal is hard to beat but definitely not a super good deal compared to others. But the restaurant and the island itself was so beautiful.

Walking along the Malecon we stopped in at this place. I was a little skeptical about the food there because there were only about 5 people there. But we stayed and ordered the ceviche and calamari for appetizers and then ordered the ribeye tacos plus 2 cokes. Everything we ordered was delicious!! The service was great and the place was very nicely decorated. Will definitely return if ever in the area again.

A little hard to access if handicapped. Not impossible though. Abbreviated lunch menu. Our picks were fish tacos and beef nachos. Both were good. For six bucks you can get a song sung to you by a three piece band. We were under a tight schedule with the bus tour we were on. I have come to accept trust a time schedule in Mexico is little more than a suggestion. Once you accept that, there is plenty of time for a second margarita.

Excellent meal. Tastey, classy, great ambiance and company. Everything looks good then taste real good. We got the special for two and glad we did. Top notch spot in Puerta Vallarta!

Oscars has a beautiful location, right on the ocean. It is a little bit tricky to get there as there is no parking next to the restaurant. We were promptly greeted by restaurant staff and they were attentive throughout the dinner. We both ordered wine and they brought my husband's Cabernet ice cold, just like the Chardonnay, rather than at slightly below room temperature, as it should be served. I did hear a man at another table complain about this as well. I am vegan and appreciate the fact that they have several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. I opted instead to have mashed potatoes and vegetables and a lovely citrus salad. I appreciated the beautiful presentation, even though I was only ordering sides. My husband was less impressed with his seafood enchiladas. He said that they did not have much flavor to them. I think this is a restaurant that has tremendous potential and I'm looking forward to seeing them continue to grow and improve.

They need a new chef who can cook a steak. All four of our steaks were served raw. Avoid. It's a tourist trap.

While the wait can be a bit unpredictable, it's usually not too long, especially during the summer. However, if you visit in the winter, it can take a while. The food here is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The only thing that confuses me is the fruit water of the day. The cups are incredibly small, and for 30 pesos, I expected more. I've noticed that some tables have their water refilled, while others have been changed. I'm not sure if this is a policy or just a coincidence. The service is okay, but nothing extraordinary. They have a limited number of tables and don't have air conditioning, so it can get quite hot inside and outside. However, you're here to eat and go, so don't expect a sit-down experience. One important thing to note is that they only accept cash. So, make sure to bring some pesos with you.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. I got a virgin strawberry margarita, the wife got a coke. It was very affordable.

The ribeye had so much fat that we had to pick through it just to eat it. The al pastor was very average - I've had much better at plenty of other taco spots. The biggest disappointment was the chorizo. It wasn't traditional chorizo at all; it looked and tasted more like chopped-up hot dogs. We barely touched it because it wasn't what we ordered expecting, and it just wasn't good. The presentation also wasn't appealing. The meat was simply piled on top of two tortillas, making everything messy and difficult to eat. They were also pretty stingy with the grilled jalapeños. The salsas didn't do the food any favors either. None of them really stood out, and the green guacamole salsa actually tasted like it had gone bad, so we stopped eating it. Service was attentive, but almost too attentive. Staff kept coming by every few minutes to ask if we were finished or if we needed anything. While I appreciate good service, it made us feel like we were being rushed through our meal instead of being able to enjoy it at our own pace. Overall, I don't understand the high ratings based on our experience. With so many amazing taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, this one didn't come close to meeting the hype. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.
