After trying a few daycares we found Young Innovators and our toddler went from being upset about being dropped off to being excited. That is a huge weight off our shoulders knowing that he is enjoying his time there. The staff from the front desk and teachers throughout the building know my child's name and says hello to him everyday. We also use this parent's night out on the last Friday of each month and we drop off our 8 year old as well. During summer we like the summer camp for our 8 year old as well. With having themed weeks that we can choose which to attend such as Space week, CSI week etc it allows him to choose which weeks he finds most interesting. On those weeks they will go on fields trips and do find task at the building that is related to the week's theme.

I have actually…read morenoticed some changes, such as bilingual signage & "now hiring" hasn't been up for several months. I will check into the school as my daughter will be ready for VPK this fall. This is my second tIme writing a review for this daycare/preschool. My original review was made shortly after my daughter was removed, I removed it because I didn't feel it was fair. I will start with the positives, once the children leave the infant room the school is highly focused on routines & learning (could also be a negative). When my daughter started at her new preschool that has accredited teachers & nationwide locations, I was told that she was too advanced for the younger 2's & would need to be moved up should I choose to stay. My daughter loved being dropped of when she waS in the infant room, Ms. Luz was the highlight of her day. We had behavioral issues shortly after being moved to the 1's room with my daughter, which I believe was due to the strict routines which in most cases helps children, but not always. One teacher absolutely loved her, while the older teacher constantly had issues. When she was 1 & a half she was moved to the 2's as a solution to her behavior. Within a short period of time I started receiving calls to pick her up because "they didn't have the resources to deal with hEr". I'll add that I live near by & pass everyday to drop my older child at school, they are constantly hiring. The calls started happening weekly, I couldn't keep leaving work because she was over tired & having a melt down instead just letting tHe kid lay down 30 minutes before schedule. I went to pick her up one day & she was left in the foyer area between the 2 rooms, crying since they called (45 mins) another time she was left in the high chair. At this point I was honest & advised Fiona that I may need to remove her & asked what would be ample notice for the school? She indicated 2 weeks. Within a couple of weeks I started getting calls every other day. The 2nd week she called me at work & said I needed to pick her up indefinitely. So I had already paid, because they require you to pay a head & I was given no notice that I no longer had child care. I just felt that a business with that many years experience should handle things better. It's not a bad school, my daughter was kept alive, very few incidents of getting hurt & as I stated early she is advanced fOr her age.

From the first few minutes we met Fiona and toured the school I decided that was where I wanted her to be. Fiona is an amazing director, the school is clean and welcoming. She is very safety conscious and has emergency plans in place. They serve the kids great food and each classroom has a tight schedule that they stick to, which really helps my daughter stick to a routine during the week. The outdoor space is huge and they take all the kids out atleast once a day. Fiona is very attentive and it is visible that she loves her job. I never worry about my daughter while she is there and anytime that I had, Fiona quickly made those fears go away. If you are searching for a daycare for your child look no further, you will not be disappointed.

During an already traumatic time for my family--when we experienced a house fire--I arranged for a former teacher (someone my children were familiar with) to pick them up to ensure their safety. Instead of showing understanding, the director responded by removing my children from the program. This lack of compassion and professionalism during an emergency situation was extremely concerning. More importantly, I have ongoing safety concerns regarding my child's care: My son experienced two allergic reactions while attending this daycare. He was given food that the daycare had been clearly and repeatedly informed he is allergic to, which is a serious health risk. My child frequently came home with bites, marks, and bruises without proper explanation or incident reports. In addition to these concerns, I question whether the facility is meeting basic safety standards. From my understanding, the center is operating without a sprinkler system, which raises serious fire safety concerns--especially given what my family has just gone through. Given these issues, I feel it is important for other parents to be aware and for the appropriate authorities to review this facility. Child safety, proper supervision, and adherence to health and safety protocols should always come first.

Each classroom is accommodating for children and accessible for kids who have special challenges. Our children have been helped in potty training, reading, speaking, and have had a great and nourishing head start to their kindergarten classes! The VPK teachers are phenomenal instructors. One of our children was unmotivated with sight words and her teacher made it a game and patiently helped our child get excited to read. It becomes more difficult when kids are in a classroom twice the size, so even if you can't afford all three years (although it's totally worth it!) VPK is giant benefit! I can not recommend WCPS enough!

Had I known that, I wouldn't have paid 2 weeks for our baby sitter. unreal
