This place is wonderful. Old-school feel, great food, great people. The eggs Benedict is amazing, their omelettes are great, even the biscuits and gravy is damn good. If you're in a big hurry, you may want to consider other options as sometimes they are a little short on help - but normally there's plenty of staff on hand and the food comes out quick. We tried Tiny's Family Restaurant while visiting friends in Payson. We arrived & promptly seated, we arrived just after opening for dinner. Our server was extremely polite & allowed us plenty of time to make decisions. The atmosphere was perfect especially since it was early enough not to have a lot of people around. Our friends ordered the broasted chicken & fish n chips while hubby & I shared the porterhouse. The clam chowder (soup of the day) was tasty but could have had more clams/clam flavor (personal opinion) hubby's steak was small in size (more like a breakfast steak rather than a dinner) especially for it being almost $30, but really was perfectly cooked & seasoned. A typical serving size of a Porterhouse is close to 24 ounces & can serve 2 people (our previous experiences ordering this cut of meat a various restaurants across the country) No complaints regarding the chicken (moist & delicious seasoning) & fish (excellent) dinners. According to those enjoying them, they were perfectly cooked, tasty & exactly what they expected from Tiny's. We truly enjoyed our experience & would eat here again, just won't order the Porterhouse. read more

Food is OK but service has been a problem for us twice now. Seated right away and mediocre food comes out fast but then your on your own. We spent way too long looking for our waitress and never saw her again until we had to get up and get our check. Waiter uses his hands on lip of water glass, obviously untrained staff both times we went and will now go elsewhere. Just train your people! read more

There were 2 of us. I ordered the Greek omelette with extra feta cheese, my buddy ordered the ham and cheese omelette. Both were very tasty. I had coffee, which was delicious and he had hot tea. In addition we ordered a strawberry waffle and split it!!! The waffle was the lightest airy waffle that 8 have ever had! It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. This waffle literally melted in your mouth like it was cotton candy! Every part of the meal was great, with one exception. When we got the bill, with a 20% tip, it was just over $54.00!!! Okay, that's $27.00 per person, for breakfast!!! Yes, I know that prices are high everywhere but come on! $27.00 per person for eggs, potatoes and such! That's a bit much I think! Although the waffle was the best that I've had, it simply isn't worth the $11.00 they charge for it! I remember Tiny's being the place to go for a very reasonably priced meal that was good! I know that I'm living in the past when it comes to price, but this seems to be a trend amongst restaurants when it comes to breakfast meals! At this cost, it's more than most other restaurants lunch costs. Although it saddens me, I won't be going back for breakfast anytime soon, or at least until they get the pricing right! Food was amazing our host made recommendations for food and each cup of coffee was given with a smile and heart felt pour. I ordered chorizo and eggs with beans and potatoes. My husband ordered corn beef hash the restaurant was clean and everyone there was greeted and treated like family. I would do back for lunch and dinner another trip well worth the drive. read more

Geez. Salad and soup were good. Dinners were poor. Spaghetti was not tasty nor looked like marinara sauce. Didn't order meatballs but there they were and I tried them. Blobs of tough meat. How can old meatloaf be so tough? Chicken fried steak was taken from the freezer. Breading was sloughing off of meat. Rice pudding was gray and the rice undercooked. Meals were poor. Oof this place was such a let down. If you are like us and wanted to stop at a local joint before getting into Phoenix this is not the spot. The staff was great and nothing on them, but the food was absolutely terrible. We were a group of 5 and neither of us liked the food. Everything was frozen and heated up. I can't even begin to explain what the food was like, but just look at my pictures. We had burgers and the crispy chicken sandwich. I highly recommend finding elsewhere. read more

Was a little nervous walking in as there weren't many people eating at this restaurant but it was early on a Monday morning. However, we were greeted immediately and sat at a table right away. The waitress was great. Could tell she had been doing this for many years. She did offer us a special that was not on the menu and both my mom and I ordered that. 2 things stood out to me which are big props to this place. 1. Food came out on warm plates. No one does this. Kept the pancakes and eggs warm. 2. The syrup was warmed. No one does this either!! These 2 things alone blew me away and was worth the 5 star rating. We were in and out in less than 40 minutes. AMAZING!!! We had asked a local his favorite place to eat and without hesitation he said TINYS! Of course we love local when we travel and not traditional chains. A clean restaurant is important to me as i feel it shows pride in an owner's place. Not just for themselves but their guests as well who choose to spend their $ in your place. Tinys was exceptionally clean. I'm talking walls, fans, floor, every single knickknack on the wall. Now to the food. I consider myself a foodie and love me some home cooking! The food was excellent! Every single bite. I got the corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy and my husband got meatloaf (sorry he ate it so fast i didn't get a photo ) all of it was so good, generous portions and very affordable for the quantity and quality. He got bread pudding for dessert and i got rice pudding. OMG! Wish my stomach was bigger i would have ordered 7 more meals! Thank you Nikki for the beautiful smile and excellent service! We had a burger and asked for it to be medium rare. It was brown and dry unfortunately. The server was nice enough but we had to find someone just to get seated, which took about 10 minutes. Once seated, it took another close to 10 minutes to have someone come and help us. Good food, friendly employees, great service. We have been here twice when visiting family in Payson and we will be back for sure. The first time we tried the bacon cheeseburgers and fries and they were delicious. The second time we went on Thanksgiving for the Turkey dinner. Everything was great, they even included a salad appetizer and pumpkin pie for dessert. I would highly recommend Tiny's to anyone! read more

We were in Payson on vacation and decided to stop into this local spot for lunch one day. The outside doesn't match the inside at all but it's very clean. That's really where the good things stopped for me. Service was decent but we rarely saw our waitress and had to wait a while for our check. Food was just mediocre really. I could have honestly gone down the road and gotten a better burger from Culver's. My mom and grandma liked their food but weren't blown away. The incessant doorbell noise from somewhere in the back was also really annoying. We likely won't be back, not worth the stop. read more

So we never got to eat at the old Tiny's. So we went there last night for dinner. Nice that for one price you get dinner with a small dinner salad, small cup of soup, you get your main dish, and a small dessert. That's nice you get all for one price. We were visiting Payson, and stopped in by chance. It was Friday night, and I had to go for the "All you can eat Fish Fry". My wife chose the Patty Melt, since she feels most fish fry's the fish is "too fishy" tasting. The food was perfect. Very reasonable prices too. My dinner included a bowl of clam chowder soup, a salad, and a desert! I asked my wife to taste my fish. She said it was very good...not fishy. The service was excellent. Our server was a sweet lady, that was very attentive, and had a great personality. Going forward, we will make sure to recommend Tiny's to all our Phoenix friends, and visit everytime we are in town. read more

Later had to track down someone to get mayonnaise for the sandwich, since it seemed to come without any sauce at all. He brought out one small cup of mayo. Ran out of soda and he never returned to ask if we wanted a refill. Food was also poor. Fries were very greasy, as I worked in a kitchen before they clearly had been cooked in old grease. I come up here with my family every year around Christmas. I wanted to something new so I ordered the BLT. I have never been more disappointed in my life. There was lots of lettuce and not even a full slice of bacon. It looked like they cut ONE piece of bacon and just threw it on the bread, I'm talking one tiny piece PER bread slice. I felt like one of the three blind mice from Shrek, looking for bacon. Its called a BLT, B is the first letter in the name and that B stands for bacon. How hard is it to make some bacon.
