So my best friend and I found this spot on Instagram and we could not wait to experience this place as we both love tacos! The ambiance of the place was decent a little dark if you ask me we had to use our flash light on our phones to look at the menu, which is weird for a restaurant lol. But the biggest issue for me was when we ordered our food, I ordered 3 tacos as there is a 2 taco minimum, the tacos was trash. I only partially ate one and it was enough for me to know that I hated it and didn't want the other two. So I spoke with manager KELLY and she assured me that it was ok that I could order something else instead of the previous sucky tacos. So I went ahead and ordered the chicken nachos that my best friend daughter had ordered cuz I knew those were ok. I would not have ordered a different entree had I known they would charge me for any of those tacos. When I spoke with Manager KELLY about the bill she was dismissive as well as nonchalant about it insisting that I ate the whole taco which never happened and that she did us a favor by taking the other two untouched tacos off. For me it isn't about the money you know, it's more about customer satisfaction and the deception for me. I would have never ordered another full entree had they been forth coming about the charges. As well as because of the wait for my second meal I was no longer hungry so I barely touched the nachos lol. I wish Manager KELLY was more clear about her intentions with our bill instead of assuming that we knew her intent. Going forward I think this place could benefit from better lighting, and better manager customer communication. I got the fish taco and the Al pastor taco--both were absolutely delicious. The fish on the fish taco was some of the best I've ever tasted in my life. Also--ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer. Churros for dessert were very delicious--appreciated that the chocolate sauce they came with was not just Hershey's chocolate syrup, but was actually rich-tasting fudge. A new Mexican restaurant that opened up in the Edison area and Mexican cuisine is one of my favorite. My friends and I ordered the quesadilla, nachos and veggie fajitas. The quesadilla was average. It was a tortilla stuffed with cheese served with lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. However, the nachos and fajitas were excellent. The base of the nachos is a housemade salted lime tortilla chips topped with an assortment of Mexican three cheese blend, pico de gallo, jalapeños and cotija cheese, served with sour cream, salsa verde and refried beans. The salsa verde was tangy and spicy, which was perfect. Lastly, the fajitas were simply mouthwatering. There were onions, bell pepper, sweet potato, and grilled mushroom in the sizzling fajitas. The tortilla was warm and the side of rice and beans was awesome. All in all, a good Mexican restaurant that needs some changes to make it a perfect restaurant. For instance, there are few vegetarian options and the quantity is less for the price paid. read more

Their COVID compliance was perfect - spaced tables, everyone wearing masks, etc. We ordered the ranchero guacamole for an appetizer and it was awesome. We got tacos (pork belly, avocado, and short rib) and a chicken quesadilla in addition to margaritas (house blood orange, classic, and prickly pear). Everything was superb. The blood orange margarita was a little too sweet for me, but that's the fruit's fault, not the restaurant! Our server was attentive and friendly and overall we had no complaints. We order 2 beers ... almost 10min for them to be served. Bar was 10ft away from our seats. We order before he disappears again: we would like to start with chips and salsa and then an order of fish tacos and chicken tacos. He says, got it. 15min later, he's passing by, I ask, hey, chips and salsa??? His response, hey, don't worry about it, it's coming. It was said in a polite way without any attitude. My point is, a customer doesn't want to hear their wait person respond to any question with "don't worry about it". Poor choice of words. If I wasn't concerned where my chips and salsa were after 15min, I wouldn't have asked, right? Almost 25min and they serve chips and salsa along with 1 fish taco and 1 chicken taco instead of an order of fish tacos and an order of chicken tacos. I think an experienced wait person would have asked: so that's one order with 1 fish and 1 chicken? Outside was 3/4 full and inside was 3/4 empty. .. why 25min for such a small order? We were waiting for our drinks and another server came with our drinks and just drop to the table so we thought the probably this girl was helping our sever . So then after a few minutes waiting to be taken our order, this server came and said to us that the girl brought our drinks was taking our order and become our server too. It was a mess everything really . And the end we order many items and drinks our bill was almost $100 between 2 people and we hadn't finish our drinks and food and the server place our check on the table so we really disfruta pay attention because we didn't ask for the check and then the manager came to us to said that we were already 90 minutes on the table so people was waiting to be seated too. The hostess gave me an attitude when I told her I have been standing here waiting she told me " no I wasn't" then said " well then how can I help you". Decided to come back again to Tio Taco the day before Cinco de Mayo, beat the crowd lol. We ordered lots of apps: the chicken flautas were fantastic & so was the street corn! Quesadillas were delicious as well. The empanadas were just okay, our least favorite. Of course their tacos are terrific, especially the chorizo & pork. I had the blackened chicken salad as my main course. Can't go wrong! For dessert we shared the churros...there were plenty to go around! We will be trying their newest location next time!!! The decor is nice but we'd see it better (and our menu) if the lighting wasn't so low. The music was so loud that we had to yell to talk to each other. The margarita on the rocks I had was all rocks and overpriced. The food...oh boy...no flavor. My friend's flautas were cold and flavorless (not even salt). My other friend's quesadilla was very overdone and solidly dark brown. I don't eat salsa but my friend said it was not great. My fajita was ok but the amount of toppings was very lacking. They brought us another plate of toppings so that was good. Everything was pretty bland. There was another order of fajitas and some tacos....nobody was really happy. Delicious tacos and would have given four stars if the tacos would come with some chips and some salsa. There is a minimum of two tacos per order so roughly $12 for the two. Tossing in some chips would be no big deal. For a rice and beans side dish it will cost an extra six bucks! Seems ludicrous. The tortas do include fries so why not the tacos? First time and I chose to throw a Bday dinner for babygirl. The location's decor is awesome: Fresh and modern interpretation on a Texmexican style. The staff is friendly and helpful. But the food was disappointing. Ordered a few apps: wings (I don't eat meat so I didn't try them but the wing lovers didn't gobble them up either), and nachos which were terrible. Taco Bell nachos are better than the soggy mess that was served up. It lacked the usual fresh toppings too. But it did come with a side of sour cream that was frozen solid. I dont drink liquor but my crew does, and they commented on the weak portion in their cocktails. My main entre (salmon burger with fries) was so bad that I sent it back and I didn't bother to reorder a replacement. The bun was cold like it had been in the refrigerator and the fries were not fresh but definitely had been sitting around for a while to. Inspite of weak drinks and food that was kinda awful we made the best of it and enjoyed the celebration. Our waiter and a beautiful dark haired female manager really tried to accommodate us and fix the food issues but the kitchen was not up to par. To end on a positive note perhaps it was just a bad night which took place during their first week of operation. Also the fried cheese cake dessert was really yummy. Let me start by saying I love Mexican food and was very excited to give this place a try . Service was good . But the food is way lacking . Having to pay for chips and bad salsa was insulting. Every other Mexican restaurant in the area the chips and salsa are customary . We had the margarita drink flight and that was good . The meat in the street tacos was dry and bland.
