So I have decided to get my nails done a week ago and I went here to tip and toe salon June 29. Van Was the one who did my nails she did a great job, I loved the color and everything , very friendly . But I started noticing after four days of getting my nails done by the cuticle area my nails was starting to lift up and it was on both hands. And now yesterday July 5 I realize that it was lifting up even more on a few nails. I am pretty sure in a fast movement or lifting something up it would pop completely off. So today July 6 I go in to try to get a refund or at least get them fixed. The way van started to fix it was just putting layers of nail glew filing the edges down putting more of nail glue and then she started Putting multiple layers of just top coat gel . It turned out looking horrible. You can see multiple bubbles on some nails, little bumps as well. I did not like how they came out at all. I wanted a refund they said that it's not possible they don't do refunds and they said that it's my natural nail oil's that caused the problem that I have to pay more so I can get them fixed better.. I have gone to other places to get my nails done and this has never happened to me. The job there doesn't last, the most it will last is about a week they look nice for a while but the work there it's not worth the price you pay. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants their moneys worth. read more

My go to for manis and pedis. If you want the devil beat out of your calves, all you have to do is ask. If you want to get your nails done well, quickly, and to the sweet dulcet tones of Americas Got Talent, or Early 2000s R&B, this is the place. The only down side is that they're closed on my birthday PS, they're always happy to fix anything you're not happy with, or do repairs if tragedy strikes. Just ask :) read more

There are a few reasons that led me to leave only a two star review on this place: 1) Not properly following COVID protocols, 2) Ignoring the service for which I originally requested an appointment, and probably the thing that most incited me to write this review, 3) a lack of cleanliness. 1) I called ahead of time to make an appointment for a gel manicure. When I arrived 10 minutes early, I gave my name and the woman asked me to take a seat. I turned around to find others waiting either to receive service or waiting on family who were currently getting service. There was nowhere for me to sit that would properly adhere to social distancing. Everyone was already sitting with one chair between them, and if I was to sit down I would be almost touching someone else. I elected to wait outside, which is not an issue, but I don't think it was wise of her to ask me to sit in an area where social distancing couldn't be followed. 2) When I was called in, she escorted me to a pedicure chair. My appointment was not for a pedicure. What was the point of making an appointment in the first place? Did they even write down my name or the service I requested? Turns out I needed a pedicure anyway and I was not opposed to spending the extra money for it today. Almost every pedicure chair was full, right next to each other, but they at least had plastic screening up. 3) Overall, the place was very crowded and kind of dirty. Even their powders and other nail products were extremely unorganized and in disarray. The towels are in desperate need of replacing, or at the very least the use of fabric softener. THE WORST PART... the UV light station for the gel was insanely dirty. There was so much nail polish, acrylic, and whatever else inside the light, that when I was resting my fingers in there, it felt like I was touching a ground up tire or something. At least keep your equipment as clean as possible! I'm not even sure if they were properly sterilizing the tools they were using on me. Also, I couldn't see any the cosmetology license of my nail technician, and she never gave me her name. The woman who did my nails was nice and honestly did a great job. My nails look great! But the lack of sanitization is a huge turn off, and I don't think I'll be going back unless I can't get an appointment anywhere else. read more

Had my nails done today by Ashley, she did not speak the whole 45 minutes of doing my nails, my nails have a very uneven shape, they are very fat, and polished messy. There are big humps from finger to nail, they don't look natural. I'm just very unhappy with them. Some nails are round, some square, and some coffin. She kept drilling my skin. And tool kept getting my nail beds hot, because she didn't lift it from my nail. read more

They were only gonna make $20 off of her and not like a full set where they can get $60. They said they had time for me but not my daughter. This is my go to spot in town for my nails, pedicures, and me time! I almost always get my fill done with Bebe and she does a fantastic job. She's skilled, sweet, creative, and friendly; I've even asked her to choose something to do to my nails without giving her any ideas or pictures and she never disappoints! Truthfully I've never had a problem here. All the technicians are professional, they take the time to talk to you and double check if they are meeting your expectations. Yes it's often crowded and there's a wait, so I advise appointments on weekends- if it's a weekday you'll be fine. That just also shows their quality of work if it's always packed. read more

Had a regular pedicure the other day. Place seemed clean and nice. I got there right at opening and holy cow it filled up fast on a Wednesday. I was shocked. My toes look adorable. She did a good job. I think her name was Nikki? Anyway, I'd definitely go back. The only thing I didn't like is I still had callouses on the sides of my big toes afterwards. Maybe they don't take them off here? Or it's separate? I'm just used to having them removed and having smooth feet after a pedi. All in all, good place. read more

We moved into town in summer of 2020. We were looking for a new nail place we get pedi and eye brows done every other week. First few times we came we noticed they were charging us for another service than what we had asked. It was about 15 dollar difference. Also we don't get polish but we do ask them to buff the nails to make them shine. They charge us additional 5 dollars each, which I never understood as buffing is less time than painting our nails. We stopped coming for a while and went out of town to get nails done. We decided in 2021 to try them again. Things went okay, still charged more at times and still charged each time to buff. We made an appointment for today at 9:30. We arrived a bit early to check in and we waited 20 min to sit. Then another 15 min in the chair. My husbands work began but mine did not even tho we have appointments for same time. They kept taking others that waked in or had appointments after us. After an hour I got up and left. The girl at the front was shocked we were leaving and told her no one got to us. I've tried to like this place and generally they do a good job. I took my 8 daughter on Sunday to get a mani and pedi for the first time.. I paid $50 for just her, they did a French tip and by Tuesday the polish came off on three of her toes. I had them put gel on her fingers nails by Tuesday on one of her nails the gel started to lift. I went back today to ask for my money back and of course Ashley said no and offered to fix her nails. I told her no that they use cheap stuff and and it would probably fall off again. She told me that kids are rough with there nails that why it came off.. That they only guarantee the first 24 hours.. I should've learned from my last bad experience here. The service is so rude. I asked for ombré center nails, and never was I told they couldn't do this both times I showed a picture. This lady uses the drill so roughly on my nail beds that they are hurting, while I try to suck it up anyways I flinch and say sorry it hurts, she makes a face and continues. On top of that she stops every few minutes to go do something else, then another lady takes over doing my nails while she is still finishing the lady's next to me. This lady has her phone propped up on what looked like was facebook and she stops every few minutes to scroll. As she's drilling around my cuticles she cuts me, probably because she has to keep looking back at facebook. She then shows me my nails with what looks like pen mark lines in the center and says that's all she can do, I figure if they can do an ombré nail they can atleast do somewhat of a better attempt at it than that, but I guess not. After the uneven clear coat on my solid color nails, she moves on to start another lady's nails. When the lamp goes off she says I can go. But I show her the uneven coat and she fixes it with an attitude. Then when the light goes off again as she's still doing the other lady's nails she asks if I want cuticle oil, which every other nail salon i've ever been to just does because it's just part of the service. At this point my nails have no design, a crappy solid color paint job, bleeding cuticles, and a bumpy finish because she didn't even bother to wipe the drill dust before the polish. Overall, I strongly advise going to this salon if you want nice nails, friendly service or professionalism. read more

Been here a few times since moving to Hollister and it is decent. They are usually pretty busy after 11am so keep that in mind if you are just doing a walk-in. It's pretty clean and the ladies that have worked on my manicures and pedicures have always been very friendly and they are not pushy either when suggesting add-ons. I'm in tears right now. If I could give less the a one star, I would. I went to get my $90 super fancy acrylic nails trimmed down because they were too long, and they ruined my nails. They now look like a 5 yr old did them and I have to go to another nail salon to get them taken off. The nail tech refused to fix the mess she created. They are uneven, sharp and not properly filed. She then told me the only way to fix them was rip them off and put new ones on! I told her no, that I just got this set done 4 days ago and so she said ok your done, and wouldn't even make them even. I then told the manager how unhappy I was with what they did, and that they ruined my nails, and she tried to blame it on the rhinestones and design. It's like come on lady! I'm not stupid! I'm so unhappy with their careless rushed actions. Personally, I will never go back unless I get a sincere apology from the manager & they offered to fix my nails regardless of what they have to do. I always have an awesome experience here until recently. This is my go to place for a great job and a good price. The girls are really good at what they do even though they get busy all the time. Most of them can give you the best designs even if you ask for crazy ones like I do. The polish on my toes stays perfect for weeks and never chips. Recently I've had two bad experiences, but the other times I've gone there make me feel like I should still keep returning. The first bad experience was a pedicure, it was so short even though I paid for the deluxe which includes a ten minute massage, then the woman painted a weird design that I didn't ask for so I asked her to take it off and paint just one color. She took off most of the polish then proceeded to paint my nails along with all my skin of my toes. She put the clear polish only in the middle of the nails and the polish wore out in two days. It bothered me but I went back anyway in two weeks. I got a perfect pedicure by another woman and she did an amazing job on the designs, I also got an acrylic set that day by someone else. It was so terrible she cut me and made the nails so thick and uneven I couldn't stop laughing at how they looked. These people are scammers!! I was going to get just color polish. They told me $5.00. My boyfriends daughter was going to get same thing. They told her five dollars too. So I saw how dirty the salon was and I got grossed out. I told them no to their polish change just file my nails and that's it. They got attitude when I told them to sanitize the items. I then told them I wanted eyebrows waxed and inquired about price. She looked at me laughing and hesitated to give me price. Don't you work there everyday? Shouldn't you know the price for eyebrow wax. They told me 9 dollars. I told them that's interesting, because last time it was 8 dollars. She laughed at me and said their prices went up. So then they were taking off my boyfriends daughter's nail color and said "oh you have gel, 5 more dollars. When we went to go pay they told us it was 12 dollars for her nails. I said no you told her 5 for color change, and 5 for removing gel nails. And they insisted 12, I told them nope only 10 dollars and they got mad. They suck at taking off polish. Looks she took it off with her eyes closed. This is a fungus breeding ground. I told her I don't want to paint my nails because I have a nail fungus and need it to be treated. She said laughing "oh ok I color it goes away". That's not a solution!! It's contributing to causing bacteria!!! They didn't wash the file they used on me. This is my second time going to Tip N Toe. The first time was only for a color change, this time was for a gel Manicure and regular Pedicure. Tina did both and I will say, she provided one of the best pedicures I've ever had. I chose a mid-level/priced option ($40) and added paraffin wax (+$8). The wax was her suggestion due to dry skin on my heels. Tina is the first person to ever actually focus on my dry skin and make sure she did her best to remove it, and let me tell you - it is gone and my feet haven't looked or felt better! It is amazing since I've been getting pedicures for 10+ years all over the Bay Area. She did a great job on my gel Manicure, too! Also, they don't charge the extra $5 to remove gel polish like some other shops do. While soaking my nails, Tina offered a neck/upper back massage and since I was spoiling myself, I took her up on the offer! To be honest, I think the massage she included in the manicure price! Anyways, I know it's tough to chose a nail salon in such a small town, but I would definitely chose to go here and highly recommend Tina! Last, the woman working the front counter is super sweet!
