I go to Lisa every 3 weeks for a gel manicure and pedicure. She is amazing!! She takes her time, is meticulous, and extremely skilled. Always does a cute design and will tell me if she doesn't think it will look good with my skin tone. She is an ingrown toenail expert too!! My hands and feet suffer when she is out of town. Worst pedicure EVER. I've had my fair share of bad nail salon experiences but yesterday at TipNToe takes the cake. My nails did not need to be trimmed but my cuticles needed some love so I took my mom with me so we could both get a pedicure. We waited in the uncomfortable new chairs for 20 mins before someone came to fill the tubs with water. Then the water was scalding and I told an employee walking by that it was too hot and she turned it ice cold and walked away. So my feet were in lukewarm water for 2 mins before my nail tech came over and splashed antibacterial over my leg. Then she proceeded to trim the nail on my big toes very short and the right side crooked. She also took nippers and trimmed down the side of EVERY toenail - this is a NO NO on any toe, but why did my barely visible pinkie toe need to be slaughtered?? The massage was painful and she rubbed the same leg in the same spot for like 10 mins and briefly passed over anywhere else; my feet were not massaged at all. Then the pumice stone... The stone that was used to scrub my moms feet was passed over to be used on my feet and then she scrubbed one whole foot and only the heel of the other foot. Now today my toes are uneven and in pain. The skin around my left big toe is peeling away from where the nail tech trimmed down the side (see photos). This pedicure was painful and disgusting; I will not be going to TipNToe EVER again. Total waste of $25 (times 2; my mom's experience was just as bad- she even had gloopy/old nail polish applied leaving a chunky finish!). read more

Lots of these reviews are crazy. The amount of reviews I seen about this place is crazy. I love this place. I've been going here for years yes there are some bad times but mostly good. van is the best to do nails. And Hannah is the best for pedicures. Everyone is respectful there if you respect them. They do amazing work and for the price it is worth it. If it is overpriced for you I recommend not going. They are the best and what they do and they deserve the world And the only reason they were disrespecting anyone is because you disrespected them. I love this place these ladies know what they're doing every other nail salon I've been to at Hollister was decent and I get my nails done all the time and I always get a weekly pedicure. And this place is the top one for me. I love it and I always go back. To the people that had bad reviews! Got a pedicure and ended up with fungus. Shows that they don't care. They didn't take any precautions such as the plastic wrap that's suppose to be on the foot bath and I didn't realize it until after. They didn't take their time on the pedicure either I kept finding random spots that they missed. Never coming back. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Tip N Toe for close to 16 years. Recently though the quality of their work has gone down significantly. Today's experience solidified that they lost a long time customer. I came in, showed Ashley the candy cane design I would like to have. She picked the colors. I then had to wait 45 mins to be seen and that is with an appointment only to have the technician unable to do the design I was requesting. The colors did not match once put on and cured and I have a Christmas dinner I am attending this evening- in fact I as dressed to leave from the salon for dinner. And I have a work Christmas party. I will now have to go somewhere else and have this mismatched nail polish corrected and have to attempt to hide my hands at tonight's function. I am angry, embarrassed and mortified at how bad this looks!!! read more

Only one star because zero wasn't possible. I used to come here a long time ago and stopped because of the service. I received a gift certificate, so I thought I would try again. I was not greeted when I walked in and had to walk up to someone to even ask for service. I was told to wait in the pedicure chair. I waited over 30 minutes and no one came or said one word to me. I only got the tub filled with water because I did it myself! The girls don't speak to you at all, only to one another. I wasn't asked what services I wanted and the girl cut my toe within the first 5 minutes. They are all so rude!! I am sitting here now and still have no idea of what kind of pedicure I'm getting or how much it will be. I have a salon I travel to in Gilroy and am ALWAYS greeted kindly and spoken to by the employees. This place is horrible and I wouldn't trust them with a manicure let alone a wax!! read more

From the time they first opened to now, I say their customer service rating has gone down. The lady who did my nails ended up talking on the phone while working without even excusing herself. She was nice, but doing something like that brings down the star rating. I got a french manicure and there was suppose to be a 3 minute arm massage, but she only did it for like a minute. My nails turned out good, but not the best. I think I may find another nail salon in town that will give me the full attention and do what they say they are going to do. Yes, you might have to wait...but if you are a "true customer" you know to get there when they open. I've been a customer for over 4 years, going every two weeks to get a fill and pedi. I love the way Yen does my nails and I'm VERY picky about them. Michelle does my toes and she is wonderful, too. I always ask for the owner, Ashley, for my waxing. Unfortunately, I have to give this place one star. I went for a mani pedi, the wait was about an hour, which I understand given the fact that these women have too many customers. Well, my turn came, I soaked my feet and the young woman started working on my feet. Suddenly, I felt pain, and yep she had cut my toe. I understand this could happen, however if they were more customer oriented rather than profit driven, the employees would be more dedicated and careful with their work. I also had a cut on my pinky from work, which I let her know to be careful before she did my manicure. But again, she was trying to finish quickly to go her next customer, so she hurt my cut didn't say sorry or made sure she sanitized the equipment. I know she was Woking long hours but a place that overwork its employees that they care less about their customers does not deserve my hard earned money. read more

I usually go to my usual girl in San Jose, but i didn't have time to drive all the way out there so i settled for this... I went here last week on a Wednesday afternoon. It was a little busy. I'm not sure who had worked on my nails... it was two different ladies. This was the worse nail experience I have ever encounter. They cut me twice and i was bleeding on two different fingers! My nails came out looking like a 5 year old did them. I showed them the mistake they did and they tried to blame it on me... vs. fixing it. UGH!!!! never ever ever again. Wow... Today was the last time I will ever go here for any service! I've come here for so long and the service is bad... 2 good nail ladies left (sandy and winnie) and last week I sat for 30 minutes with my feet in water and walked out without getting a pedicure. Today... Tried again! Arrived at 9am, during the pedicure the young girl cut me 3 times... The worst was pulling the skin off the side of my big toe! Bleeding... She says 'sorry'.... As a 10yr+ customer of TipNToe, back when they first opened during Christine's management, I have been getting, at first, a pedicure every 2 mo, then on to gel manicures, every 2 wks, for the last 5 yrs. A steady and loyal customer. Good tipper with $100 Christmas bonus to my tech Linda for last 2 yrs. She provided great service to me, always did a beautiful job on my nails. Linda recently went on a Vietnam 2-3wk vacation, then resigned. Time for another gel mani, I have appt with Nikky. She is rough, heavy handed with the dremel tool instead of useing a file to start the removal/acetone soaking stage. Usually a 10-15 min soaking is necessary to dissolve old gel. She scrapes harshly after only 5 mins, gel not yet dissolved. I tell her i am not in a hurry, lets wait for acetone to work. She does not listen, takes out the dremel again, and proceeds to roughly whale on/ heat up my nails, and sanded ENTIRELY THROUGH my pinky finger nail. Skin underneath open, exposed and painful. Unbelievable!!! I was upset and showed her what she did. She said "You nail very thin". Sure, now it was! It's drilled through, a nightmare. Unbelievably, she actually wanted to proceed with gel mani OVER open wound. I had Ashley the owner come over and she only says Hmm. I asked for a bandaid and told her i was concerned about infection. She stated it would not get infected. ?!? Left with no gel mani for Mother's Day event but was charged $15 for a half done clear polish mani. Will never go back, sitting there waiting for awful mani to dry, just looked around to see how dirty, cluttered and low level this salon has degraded to. They have an autoclave, but have never seen it in use. I have been lucky not to have ever been cut. Only my nail sanded through. Beware!! read more

I went in last week for a pedicure and as i waited for my turn i watched them do the person before and when i was up it was to my surprise the lady wanted to use the same tools she juSt used on the previous person without any cleaning or sanitizing. I nicely asked for new tools and was told they didnt have any and it would be like 10 minute, so i waited. I was also charged $15 more than what i asked for and received no extra treatments, i tried to ask why and would get no straight answer. I also decided to get my nails done and asked if the had time if not j could make an appointment. They said they had time so they sat me in a chair then the receptionist Ashley started doing my nails. She kept buffing mi nails so much that they would burn and she got more and more mad when i kept telling her it hurt. I asked for short square and she started shapping them coffin and i told her i didnt like it and she insisted it would look better. The worst part was the acrylic application i had so much acrylic on my actual finger and there was so much balled up under the nail. That is when i had enough and told her if i could get someone else. She angrily stood up and i waited another 30 minutes for song else. The last girl even looked surprised at the amount of acrylic on each nail and she said we just has to soak it off and re start. It took another hour to get it removed and j decided on not getting nails anymore. I went in for a manicure, 1 hr before closing. I did not realized it was that late. They insisted I stay but I didn't want to rush them, as a have work retail and hated last minute customers. The place looked as it needed a deep cleaning. It was busy so I stayed. Well everything was going fine, until I realize the nail lady was trying to trim my cuticles with dirty trimmers!! They were full of nail cuticles from someone else! You had to be blind not to see how the large amount in them. She didn't even bother wiping them, DISGUSTING! I pulled my hands away, and told her to get a sanitized pair. She acted as she didn't realize they were used trimmers, she apologized and went to grab a fresh sanitized pair. Very upset that I went today on a Sunday to get my waxing done and when I walked in like always the receptionist gives attitude and says can I help you I say yes I'm here for waxing and she says okay well we don't have no one to way today ! Not one apology acting as if everything is totally normal I asked her isn't this a nails and waxing salon there should be a sign up and again just staring with attitude and no apology. Poor service they only give special attention to their regulars in tired of their poor attitudes good quality of products that's why they have good business but to maintain it you also need to greet people with respect as it is us who tip them and keep them in business only time will tell!!! I came here because my preferred salon was closed. While my pedicure came out ok, I wasn't a fan of the service and the setup of the salon. I felt like I was in a cattle call while getting my toes done and my nail tech wasn't very friendly. Did an "OK" job. Nail salon has a strong nail polish smell. Also was overcharged for my service, the brochure said a Euro Pedicure was $28 and they charged me $40. I'm not a resident of hollister I was just passing through. My pedicure chipped after 1 day (not even a full 24hours). Wouldn't recommend this nail place considering Yelp shows there are others nearby (I was without a vehicle for an hour). Next time I will kill time at a better salon. read more

This first experience was horrible. Knowing that they close at 5:00pm I went there around 3:30pm and didnt leave untill 5:20pm just for extremely simple task. I wanted my nails painted. I understood that they were a little busy but why do I have to wait 10 minutes here and 30 minutes there.
