After hiking in the area my part stopped in to Tippy Canoes for some food. We were promptly greeted and chose to sit outside in the patio. I ordered the Kickin Chicken sandwich with fries and it was very delicious! The lettuce, peppers, and tomatoes on it were fresh. The flavors came together well and really hit the spot! I was very pleased with the meal. The service left a bit to be desired, they weren't very quick about things and they were a bit unpleasant. However it didn't take away from the experience too much. We stopped in to Tippy Canoe's on our way home from a camping trip. Our family of 6 loved that they had coloring pages for a coloring contest. We all participated :) We had great service and all of us loved our food. It was a very comfortable yet lively atmosphere. My side salad was superb- the red onions had the perfect bite, seasoned croutons and a very flavorful homemade 1000 island. Our kids begged that we stop here again next time we camp. read more

One of my favorite cities is along the St. Croix River in Wisconsin, near the border of Minnesota, and Tippy Canoes is one of my 2 favorite places to visit when I'm in town. This is a very scenic city to visit when in the area, and Tippy's is always so much fun to spend time with friends when I do visit. I usually come in for their really yummy and seasonal cocktails, along with their Happy Hour food. They have the best burgers during HH, and the servers are always so fun to chat with. I'm lucky to have the best of friends who live in the area, so I get that "regulars" benefit, along with being an out-of-towner from CA. I've always been happy with my food choices and the staff is great at suggesting things when I'm having trouble deciding. They also have really tasty HH Chicken Strips that I'll share at the table. I've sat inside a couple times, with our table ordering off the regular menu too, and everyone was happy with their food / drinks. Sitting outside on the patio on a summer day/night or in the fall (the fall is gorgeous by the river!) is really the perfect way to dine ~ if you haven't stopped in at Tippy's, it's a great place to visit when in Osceola! read more

Stopped in on Saturday 3/21/2026. The place was 1/2 empty outside and inside. The hostess said it would be a 5 to 10 minute wait. After about 5 minutes we left and will not go back. Have eaten there before, The food and prices are average at best. But, when you have a large number of tables open and you ask people to wait to be seated this is not acceptable. read more

If you ever get stuck in the city of Osceola during their annual parade, try a pit stop at Tippy Canoes! Haha, we weren't planning to go here, but had a great time anyway. Food was great, the Vikings football game was on a big screen inside the bar area, and I really enjoyed the beautiful outdoor patio. The service was a bit slow, but I think they only had one waitress for the entire outdoor area. Honestly, she may have had to wait on tables inside too. But, we weren't in a hurry to get anywhere that day so we just tried to enjoy the sunshine. read more

I don't normally write reviews good or bad. With that said I have been going to Tippy's for years and the last 3 times it has been bad. The only thing I can complain about is the lack of the kitchen changing the oil in the fryers. To think the grease is not changed in a timely manner is a bad sign of cleanliness. Ordered a blue and bacon burger. Burger was a burnt hockey puck and the bacon was barely warm (raw). It was feta cheese instead of blue cheese and grilled brown. The bathroom was my first stop. The one-open stall didn't have toilet paper on either roll. I shouted to a friend who came in the restroom shortly behind me to get me some TP from the stall she was heading to. It also was empty. Someone verbally agreed to get a host. When my water was coming, I was super excited to see it was served with lemon. I expressed to the waitress, yay, lemon, and then saw the hair on my lemon. I said to her, oh, and a whisker took it off and rubbed it onto my napkin. She did nothing. I didn't drink the water. Hair is a huge turnoff. The walleye fingers were ok but had a lot of breading and pretty greasy. read more

I met a group of high school friends here for lunch on a Monday (9 of us). It wasn't terribly busy at the time and they had adequate staff to cover lunch. Service was attentive and she noticed every time someone new joined our group. They were fine that we combined two tables to seat us all and had no problem with separate checks. I had the walleye sandwich which was soooo delicious! It was a 5 oz. serving with a beer / tempura type batter on a soft and delicious roll. The side of fries were fine. Others got the soup and sandwich, which were very large servings. I also had a great margarita for under $6. Other notes: lots of parking, huge patio, nice variety on the menu. read more

We had an outstanding dinner here, way beyond expectations. The Champagne Mushroom soup was delicious, full of mushrooms and rich and flavorful. One of the best soups we've had anywhere. The Ahi entree for $19 or so was enough for two easily- who serves a 10 oz piece of Ahi?? Seared, sesame coated and rare, it was perfection. The accompanying broccolini was perfectly cooked as were the roasted red potatoes. The New York was rare as ordered and excellent with the mushrooms ordered for the topping. Service was great and we will come here every time we are in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant, it is a gem and has a huge menu and something for everyone. read more

I highly recommend tippy canoe. We brought 13 people in and the waitress was excellent. Food came hot and timely. I did not have to ask for refills on beverages. We ordered across the menu and everything thing from the wings to the walleye were made perfectly. The wings on the appetizer menu were more than any I have had in size and quantity. The Bourbon sauce finished them off nicely. It was clean and a fitting decor for the area with an upside down canoe hanging from the rafters. Nice place I will stop again. read more

Host looked very annoyed when we came in the door. Made us wait several minutes while he answered the phone and did busy work. He clearly did not want to be there. Our waiter was very nice. Our food was delivered by someone from the kitchen. We asked for blue cheese and ranch for our wings. She said she would get it and never came back. We waited several minutes and then I went to the bar, which had 3 bartenders all with their back turned to me who never turned around. I gave up and flagged down a waitress. When our dressing was finally delivered, they said they would get my wife a refill of her soda and then never came back. The food was good but not great. This was not a short staffing issue. I was very satisfied with the food here. We stopped in on a Thursday (half price appetizers). We really enjoyed the wings and drumsticks. The chicken wild rice soup was also very tasty. We also had the cheese curds. They were tasty. The bill was very reasonable. The only problem for the night was customers walking around without masks. We stopped here on our way home from hiking because it was on the way. But after eating the food and experiencing the atmosphere, we're going to make it a regular stop whenever we are in Wisconsin. If I could give this 0 stars I would but it wouldn't let me so I had to at least put one star. We put in the order at 7:04pm and we still had not received our food by 8:30pm so we asked if they could put them in to-go boxes. It was another 20 mins after (8:51pm) that we received our food. A 4-top was seated behind us 20 mins after we ordered and they ate and left approximately 30 mins before we even received our meal which was 2 burgers. It took 45 mins to even receive the salads that we got with our meal. When we mentioned that we had been waiting almost 2 hours for our meal, the GM said she would only take our drinks off. To top it off when we got home with our burgers, the burgers were really well done and just crumbled apart. The waitress was great and she made the most of the sh***y situation but safe to say, I will never be returning again. read more

Not real clear as to which employees were there to do what job, if it was inexperience or maybe they were trying to help each other out, but seemed a little confusing. There was a friendly young man that we seen behind outdoor bar area who waited on us . We were told there was a shortage on kitchen staff, which is unfortunate, because the location was fun and we prefer outdoor seating, but service was slow (waited over an hour). The young man did addresses the long wait time which is more than many servers would do. We would probably try it again because of the food and atmosphere. Great cheese curds, good steak and very friendly service. I enjoyed my happy hour margarita. The chocolate lava cake was just what you'd expect, warm and yummy. This is a good place to go for hearty food after a day of hiking or canoeing. I'm not sure why the ratings are so low for this restaurant. The food we had was tasty (though not perfect). The day we went, they were a little short staffed so it took a bit to get the bill and get out but the staff were great about it. I try to get to Tippy once a year as it's an hour drive but I loved their pizza. Notice past tense. Stopped and ordered the all meat pizza, has a new name. When we got it the pizza wasn't cut all the way through. We couldn't cut the crust at edge of the pizza with a steak knife. Sent it back to be cut again. Girl brought it back a few minutes later and it still wasn't cut at the edges. She said to just tear it. Needless to say we couldn't bite through it either. Bartender said she has problems with the new dough. That wasn't the biggest problem. It was so salty it was inedible. I got through 2 slices thinking i could drink enough water to help but I had enough. No amount of water was cutting the salt. Asked the Bartender if they had changed anything. She said not since she's been there. I guess other than the new dough. We complained and she did take money off. Not a lot and now I'm sad because the pizza was really good. No way anyone is eating that. Guess I'll see what happens next year. read more
