    Summer Salad with steak
    Suzie R.

First and foremost very important info...you need to check in with hostess which during warmer months is the gazebo on the back patio. It's not first come first serve at the tables. We recently dined there for an early dinner on Mother's Day. We checked in with the hostess and preferred inside seating. We waited roughly 15 minutes and were given a buzzer. We roamed around Main Street while we waited. We got the perfect table for a family of 5 (triangular table). They have updated their menu since last summer - last time we were there. I ordered the summer salad and added on steak and it was delish. The service was okay which is the reason for the 4 stars. I had finished my wine and while my hubby was asked if he wanted more beer - they didn't ask the table if anyone needed anything else or checked to see any drinks were low. My son had the cheeseburger kids meal and absolutely loved it. He chose the fries as a side.

Last year around the same time, I visited the Dunrovin Retreat Center for a conference. On a break, my group decided to venture up the street to Brookside. They were taken aback by the large group that entered, but they showed us nothing but kindness and hospitality. Cut to a year later, the same group is back at the Dunrovin Retreat Center, and what did we decide to do on our break? Visit Brookside again! The staff was SO accommodating! They allowed us to push tables together so our entire group (about 12 of us) could sit together on the lower level. Some of us are from Chicago and were SHOCKED at their happy hour prices. We were able to get rail drinks for just $3.00!!! I ordered a Jack & Ginger, and it was ahem, heavy on the Jack. Thanks for that! Our group ordered several appetizers, including the Loaded Brussel Sprouts, Tater Tots, French Fries, Margherita Pizza, Cheese Curds, Pretzel, Nachos, and Steak Bites. The steak bites were DELICIOUS! The meat was tender, and the sauce was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. My favorite was definitely the Loaded Brussel Sprouts. They had a good amount of chew to them and were topped with chorizo and blue cheese crumbles - YUM! Oh, and the food that was on the happy hour menu was $3.00 off - it really doesn't get any better than that! If you're ever in the area, this is a great hometown bar to patronize. Thank you for being so welcoming and friendly! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

If we were at home we would of licked the plate. What a great patio area and fantastic service! Steak Bites are the best ever. We would have taken a picture but it was so tasty we just got started. Here's a picture of the plate we want

Ambiance is set for a great time. Friendly staff and people. Loved they had funny youtube videos playing, kept josh and I entertained laughing the whole time. Their bone in wings were AMAZING! And good size whole wings. Not overly seasoned or under just perfect amount! I had a THC drink which I underestimated thats all I will say about that one cause I was done for after just one 15 minutes later once it hit the system lol. Josh had a chuck norris shot he enjoyed. They were having a Halloween dress up party. Just seems like the type of spot Josh and I would enjoy and plan of coming to this spot for more!!!

This is the book that runs under the bar and under the road to the other side.

Headed to the Brookside bar and Grill with my sister and my brother-in-law. It is warm and cozy inside this pub. Beer was delicious with many choices, the food was also very good, and our server was Rosie, who was one of the owners. The atmosphere was very warm with two TVs above the bar, and a very large outdoor area that is open during the summer with live music. It was great conversation between the three of us as we ate our early dinner and enjoyed our beers. There is definitely a plan to come back during the summer months and enjoy the outdoor music and the large patio and back. If you're ever visiting along the St. Croix river between Minnesota and Wisconsin, I suggested you visit this beautiful bar and grill and enjoy a good meal. Say 'Hi' to Rosie for me!

We've been here many times but finally getting around to reviewing. We've only done patio seating, and especially enjoy stopping on the days they have live music. It's a great place to stop while on a scenic car cruise. We love the management's attitude about dogs. Not only were our two little dogs welcome to join us on the patio--the dogs got their own specialty menu! My husband says the Reuben sandwich here is the best one he's ever eaten. My favorite is the Parmesan truffle fries with garlic aoli. Service seems to be consistently slower than we would prefer (so we don't stop here when we're in a hurry), but the food is always good and served hot. Wait staff is always very friendly and accommodating. They deserve 5 stars for the dog friendly attitude alone! No little dog should ever have to wait in the car. :)

Under new ownership for a couple years. Menu and foods have changed. Used to enjoy the hamburgers but last visit after the changeover was disappointing. Hamburger had a generous beef patty, but was bland. Fries were okay. Coleslaw was bad. Dry and very little sauce. Service was good. Ambiance was good. Menu was impressive. Nice new tables. Next time I'll try something else.

Doing an ugly sweater bus ride and swing by here. It's a great and cutely decorated place for Christmas already. The service is prompt and has pretty good food for a bar cafe ;)

This is a very cool spot along the beautiful St. Croix River. During the summertime, there is live music on Saturdays and Sundays on their patio. There's a bartender in a Pavillion out back serving drinks, as well as a fire pit that they ignite on cooler days. For being in the middle of nowhere, the burgers are excellent. Maybe better than any burgers in Stillwater... the closest town south. They keep the burgers simple. Pick your patty size, and tell them whatever toppings you want on it. The toppings are not limited; different types of onions, all sorts of different cheeses, and Avacado! However, I don't think the Avacado is listed on the menu. Regardless, ask for it and they'll add it! The fries might be my favorite. They are crisp and THIN. You can devour them so fast. My only complaint is that sometimes they are undersalted. The tater tots and sweet potato fries (my sister's favorite) are good too.

staff was amazing and the food was even better. I got a quesadilla burger which i haven't seen anywhere besides applebees. This verizon was good I got another one to go! No pics of the food I ate it too fast!

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie- what a perfect dish for a darn cold night in Minnesota!

Don't waste your time ! A bar that closes at 11 pm with a kitchen that closes at 9 pm on a FRIDAY night isn't worth stopping at!

The vineyard landscape is BEAUTIFUL and makes for the perfect relaxing night or afternoon. The refreshing white wine pictured was delicious and perfect for a warm day outside. The flatbread was exactly what you'd expect for a light winery snack, but super reasonably priced which I appreciate! Definitely bring a DD so you can take advantage of their awesome bottle pricing instead of just ordering by the glass! Their social media is also worth checking out because they host so many fun events like yoga, concerts, private events, and more. Such a peaceful atmosphere with great vibes all around. I went on a Sunday around 1pm and it was very chill with plenty of seating options under a pergola, picnic tables by the vines, etc. lots of different choices as well as inside by the bar. There are 2 bars on property, 1 inside and 1 by the events center. I'm assuming you can rent the place out for weddings and currently they are under construction in the parking lot. I ordered a caprese salad with chicken. It was just okay. It came in a chipotle "like" bowl and the chicken was minced. The menu said thick slices of heirloom tomatoes but they ended up being cherry tomatoes and the mozzarella was light on the portion. More salad than anything else and was drizzled with balsamic. I don't think it was worth $19 but if I'm paying for convenience, I get it. Just let your customers know that it's cherry tomatoes and not heirloom tomatoes when they are ordering. This is how the menu item reads: Thick slices of heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and torn mozzarella on top of greens, dressed with balsamic glaze. I opted for a non alcoholic beverage - root beer which was delightful but next time I'm getting the rose. The staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back to order something different on the food menu.
