Oh, there are so many good things to say about Tipsy Chicken. I've been here several times now and every time has been such a great experience. Tipsy Chicken uses quality ingredients in everything they make, from entrees to appetizers to cocktails. Think farm-to-table, but even better than you'd probably imagine it to be. No matter what meal I get, I will always start with a side salad with maple vinaigrette. You know how in a lot of places, a side or starter salad is that kind of boring lettuce, shredded carrot, cherry tomato thing? Not here. You get mixed greens, onions, carrots, crostini, and the greatest dressing known to mankind. I think my favorite entree so far has been the Amish chicken pot pie. The only way it could be improved if it was served year-round rather than seasonally. The fries are an excellent side - they are so crispy and flavorful. Another great thing about Tipsy Chicken is you aren't getting oily/greasy things. You get so much better flavor without all the grease. The cocktails are just superb. Imagine fresh fruits and herbs, but boozy. My go-to cocktail is the Confusion, but I've tried almost every drink on the menu over time and there are so many unique flavor profiles there is always something fun to enjoy. Took a trek out to Elk River for some brunch with old coworkers. The server told us that they had a completely revamped brunch menu, and I got the cajun scramble, which came with andouille sausage, peppers, eggs and cheese with a side of sweet potatoes, apples and kale and a hot sauce. Great mix of savory and sweet, and I love that it came with the hot sauce without me needing to ask. I ordered a sweet hazel as my drink, which came with hazelnut infused vodka, espresso beans, kahlua, coffee, and cream. We loved this place. First let me say get a reservation. We had one and got seated within minutes. It's not a big place but it's really popular. It's a really cute chicken theme and lots to look at. We ordered drinks and bruschetta for an appetizer. The drinks were strong and delicious I got the confusion and it even smelled delicious. Went there last night as they moved and my wife said it was better, she must have went on a good night as went last night. $39 for braised beef short ribs... one would assume you get oh I don't know???? rib at least 1? Nope, it was just braised beef, cheaper cut such as rump roast. Wasn't bad, but when one pays premium for premium cut, one expects it to be premium. If there was a wine reduction it must have been less than a shot of wine. Garlic mashed potatoes lacked any garlic flavor at all, potato texture indicated these were questionable premade or boxed. My wife's burger Chori-Queso, left one queasy at best, sauce was indescribably bad and the burger was meh at best. Only reason for 2 stars is the service was pretty good honestly. Every time I visit the Tipsy Chicken, I'm impressed with the food, the cocktails, and the staff. The Tipsy Chicken is a quaint cafe in Elk River that has two areas for seating: a bar area and a dining area. The decorations are unique and most are for sale! One of the big strengths of Tipsy Chicken is their cocktails. I haven't had one that I didn't like. When I last visited, I opted for a glass of cold rose since the weather outside was blisteringly hot. The rose was perfectly cold and the pour was generous. To make things even better, it was 2 for 1! A great surprise. For food I ordered the Farmer's Reward and my husband ordered the Tipsy Wrap. The Farmer's Reward had a moist grilled chicken breast on a toasted bun with crisp bacon, some fixings, and a sauce. My only complaint would be that the sandwich could have used more sauce, but our waitress happily brought out some extra when we asked. The Tipsy Wrap was done perfectly - our favorite part is that the chicken isn't fried to the wrap feels a little lighter. The side salads were also really nice with pickled red onion, cucumber, and tomatoes. It was a great summer meal! I loved the idea of this place, the execution was simply off. We came for brunch for Memorial Day weekend and were hit with bad weather. Since everyone was inside I'll chalk up some of the wreckage to being understaffed but when a group makes a reservation, enters with only 3-4 tables seated and waits for 30 minutes for food and then has French toast and pancakes burnt something isn't working. I went to this restaurant with my wife for the first time. It is a cute restaurant , they were able to get us in pretty much right away with a reservation. We ordered a round of drinks which were quite good. Negatives were I had a glass of water which appeared to have dirt in the bottom. We ordered dinner, I had a chicken Philly sandwich which for mostly bread and cheese very little chicken at all. I upgraded to fries from chips and the fries were tasteless, should have stuck with the fries. My wife had chicken and waffles, again the chicken wasn't seasoned, thankfully it was a good quality chicken. What I would say in summary is the food was ok but very overpriced. If it was $12-14 per meal I wouldn't complain at all but at $20+ per meal clearly not worth it. For that price the food better be amazing. We will not be back. read more

The staff greeted us right away and talked about the menu. My wife and I shared the poutine this is hand cut fries with creole seasoning, andouille sausage gravy, and white cheddar cheese curds. The fries were delicious the gravy, sausage and white cheddar curds were so delicious. One of my new favorite poutines. We also shared the Dixie chick which is their signature fried chicken sandwich on a toasted bun with house made pickles, lettuce and tomato with Tipsy Sauce. Now this is why it was a 4 and not a 5 (mine and my wife's taste) the coating lacked seasoning and flavor. Nice crunch, chicken cooked to perfection. Just needed some seasoning. Not to mention the only burger on their menu is a build your own burger. 13 for a single patty with just cheese and 15 for a double patty with only cheese. Anything extra on the burger will cost you $1-2 extra per item. So you're looking at an expensive burger when you get the additions you want. I got the burger because they used to be great. This burger wasn't even a shadow of their former burgers. The fries are still good so I'll give them that. They serve a Rooster Mac n cheese that used to be $17 that is now $23, that alone is enough to make me never come back. $23 should be a sin. I would give 2 1/2 if I could. The Tipsy Chicken is a newer restaurant located in Elk River focusing on organic, farm fresh ingredients. The menu even indicates what level of organic each selection is. This particular stop I made was for brunch. With a name like Tipsy Chicken I had to order something with chicken. I decided to go with the Chicken Biscuits and Gravy which is great because I got to try the chicken and have one of my absolute favorite brunch dishes. The dish came with two buttermilk biscuits that were baked to near perfection, a healthy sized tender and juicy chicken breast, smothered in pork sausage gravy that claimed to have "just a touch of heat." While the chicken and the biscuits were outstanding, the thing that matters the most, the sausage gravy was underwhelming. Not enough sausage and there wasn't a single touch of heat. I initially added more black pepper and then ended up adding hot sauce. I am sure it would appeal to the general population but being from the south I have certain expectations of sausage gravy. The dish also came with a side of smashed potatoes which were very good and 2 eggs your way. I ordered them over medium and they were cooked perfect and honestly some of the best eggs I have ever had. My girl friend ordered a skillet which comes "build your own" style with smashed potatoes, eggs your way and 3 toppings. They have a nice selection of veggies, meats and cheeses the choose from. It was just ok. Nothing was really seasoned and the portion was way too small. I also ordered a Bloody Mary. Again, just okay. With a farm to table style restaurant boasting organic this and healthy that I would have expected an in house bloody mix but that was not the case. All and all I was slightly underwhelmed. I think they have the right idea but need to make some small alterations. Also, this place isn't cheap, at all. Like woah. I get it, it's organic but with the portion size of the skillet and the grocery store Bloody Mary mix I don't know it's justifiable. Excellent choice on my part. Non chicken choices are on the menu. My wife selected the Shrimp and Grits which she enjoyed. Other items tried by our group included the Dixie Chick sandwich, Chicken and Biscuits, Chicken Wrap. All received a thumbs up. Alcohol is served including a craft beer selection. Family friendly.
