She clearly knows her biscuits! The location was unexpected and a little hard to find. Ms. Bird explained that her husband actually owned the little industrial park and when her classes got larger, instead of continuing to teach at her home, she fashioned a charming kitchen in the back of the building. There aren't any signs from the street, yet, so it's awkward driving around when you don't know what you are looking for. But one quick call and we were united with the other 12 people waiting for the class to begin. Maryann did a great job of explaining her credentials and how she fell in love with biscuits. She made biscuits right in front of us, talking us thru the process while making everyone comfortable with one another. She answered questions. She educated us about substitutions. And then she served us each one of those biscuits, complete with sausage gravy, to enjoy. After each table (there were about 6?) was given the tools and materials to make their own flour-y butter soaked delicacies. While those were cooking? Pictures, clean up, and a few products for sale (we picked up some biscuit cutters!) It was a great day, and wasn't affected by the heat OR scattered thunderstorms! If you decide to do it anyways, ask the parents of the attendees to stay despite Flour Power's suggestion to have parents drop off. They will want to be there to observe what's taking place. You don't want a kid going home saying they were yelled at during your child's party.

Online it gives three different age groups for classes. I payed for my 13 year old daughter to get into what was labeled "teen class". I called and emailed the address given and gave my number to the owner and asked her if she could talk as I had some questions... she only corresponded via email and as a fellow business owner, I felt as tho it was not as welcoming. But I went ahead and purchased the 6 classes. When I arrived I was under the understanding she would be with other teens her age but that was not the case and I understand why. She was in a class with an 8, two 9 and a 10 year old. This was not what I was under the impression I was paying for. I'm disappointed not at the content but that I was paying a hefty price to get her to make friends doing what she enjoys in her age group, outside of school, and to my surprise she was the oldest there. The manager there explained to me that there are not enough kids in her age group to do a separate class and I understand that but had I known.... I would not have payed for 6 sessions. This should be made known on the website ahead of time and I found it nowhere. This was an attempt to socialize her with teens her age. I felt misled and for that, I'm giving 3 stars. I'm disappointed
