Even the driest of the wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon, is very sweet. So, if you love sweet wines, this place is for you! Right now, they are only pouring a Cabernet, a red blend, a Riesling and a sweet Rose. The grapes are imported, but Woolley Yak has their own vineyard, and the intention is that they will soon start producing wine from their own grapes. You can get a flight of wine, or a glass of wine, or a mimosa, and then you can take your wine outside with you as you explore the grounds. There are picnic benches here and there. There's also a food truck that sells four different types of grilled cheese sandwiches and handheld charcuterie cups. I think food is only available Friday through Sunday, though. I visited with children (well, a teen and an almost tween), but they are a good hang and will play on a playground with the best of them, so we headed straight for the nature play space. The playground was designed to encourage kids to engage in unstructured play, so it has a lot of natural elements all around, like tree stumps, hay bales and logs. My kids are "co-op kids" for life (their early years were spent at a nature-based cooperative preschool), so they thrive with this type of playground. There's also a tire mound to climb, a balance beam to balance on, and a basketball shooting station made from a grain wagon. There's lots of space to run around, and a few trees to climb, too. The big draw of Woolly Yak is the yaks! There are also Babydoll Southdown sheep, Kunekune pigs and chickens that live on the ranch. You can just sit on a bench and watch these animals do their things in their living spaces. Or, if you want a more up-close experience, you can purchase a ticket to one of the animal experiences, like storytime with sheep or tea with lambs. You can also experience brushing the yaks and giving them treats. If you didn't want to do any of those experiences, though, you could just visit the ranch to see the animals for free! There is no admission to enter the ranch or to park. It's a nice place to visit to stroll around and see what you can see.

Students from Ball State direct, and local kids are the cast.they have a small snack bar area where they sell popcorn and candy, water and soda. I am not sure if they use the space for other things, but it would be a great party venue or for a wedding reception. My only wish is that they served beer/wine/liquor. No, I am not kidding. The range has multiple shooting sports you can participate in (USPSA, IDPA, SCSA, ICORE, GSSF, multigun, etc..) With that said, you can practice here using your own ammo and can draw from the holster on the bays. Overall, a great range for 30-50 yd shooting distances. Membership pricing is also decent for yearly membership.

There is not a lot of people that go here. The bays are very basic and have a large berm, a covered work bench with seating, barrels and target holders. The range was very clean, and they do not have a restroom facility, but they do have a porta-potty that was well maintained. Membership costs $175 per year and they have some very stringent rules to join. It seems very exclusive. On a side not, I was wondering who lived in the houses right across the street from the range. They must really hate life early in the morning. Anyway, I understand that this place is far off of the beaten path, even for North siders, but worth if because you are away from everyone and due to the club's exclusivity. If you are in the market for a private gun range, this is an excellent option. You just may have to drive.

We came here for a Sunday night race when we were in town. We had driven by the place earlier in…read morethe weekend and I looked it up on their website, which was quite informative. There seem to be races almost every week. We arrived a few minutes late, but no worries as they were still doing the hot laps. Parking was easy in the gravel lot (PRO TIP: the closer you park to the track, the dirtier your car will be from all the dust). Paying by credit card adds a 5% fee. It was $15 per adult, but kids are free to enter. It wasn't too crowded, but general admission gets you in on the side with the sun in your eyes, so for the first hour, it was painful. But after that, it was amazing. Yes, dirt will be flying and it is loud! But it is so fascinating and we loved learning about the intricacies of the sport. I recommend sitting on the far right side so you can see the cars exiting the track. Concessions were reasonably priced and the same 5% credit card fee as the admission applies. The bathrooms are what you'd expect and the ground dirty. But they had a zamboni-like thing come around and clean the main walkway. There were fireworks afterwards that lasted longer than I thought they would.

It was very busy to say the least so all the seats that weren't reserved were already taken. We tried to find seats that weren't be used this night only to have to move 3-4 times. We went back to the ticket booth and explained the situation and the Very Helpful lady working the window ended up being one of the owners. She was so helpful and even drove us over to the other side of the track and took our number and text us a great pair of seats that were open. This was above and beyond customer service that she did not have to do but was VERY much appreciated. I will recommend Kokomo Speedway to everyone I know and share this story also. I love a good roadside attraction and this one has been pinned on my map for a little while. We…read moretraveled from Wisconsin to Ohio for a wedding and made the detour to set a world record (even if it was for only an hour and a half). Everyone was a little weary about it as it added some time to our trip, but after everyone was happy we did it and it became a conversation topic for the weekend! We called on our way (be sure to pay attention to the time change if you're doing in a day) and Mike didn't seem like he wanted to chat, but we let him know about when we were going to be there and when we arrived, he was ready for us. He went through the story, getting into the world record book, then we picked out our color and got to painting. As we painted we chatted more and he told us some stories of all the different types of people that have visited, weird and unique paint jobs, and more. I am assuming he gets paint donated or he has paint that has been around a while, because it did have a unpleasant smell so we rolled quickly. Don't be too worried about getting it on your clothes unless you are reckless, there are long handles on the rollers, the most you'll get is on the bottom of your shoe. Its awesome you get to be a small part of a world record and worth the detour if you're in the area. He does accept donations through cash, venmo, or credit card. I recommend a stop!

Arriving during business hours, I was able to meet up with the painter himself, ask Mike some questions, see the wet paint and understand a bit about this pretty awesome piece of Americana. It is a bit out of the way but worth it. The Ball of Paint is free to visit and they do accept donations. You can also contribute to the paint ball.
