This Mother's Day we didn't really have a plan, so we called Tiramisu and thankfully they had an opening for us. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the most decadent pastries and cakes on display. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with gorgeous flower arrangements, and Artie always makes everyone feel welcomed by stopping by every table. It truly feels like home there. They make their own red house wine, which is absolutely delicious. We ordered the antipasto platter to share for the four of us, and it was fantastic. I had the veal Marsala, which was outstanding, served with homemade potato croquettes and grilled zucchini that completed the dish perfectly. We love coming to Tiramisu and highly recommend it. Among my favorite Italian restaurants in the Hudson Valley. Had lunch w sister and BIL to celebrate her birthday. Their first time. Plenty of parking. Interior all lit up w ceiling decor. Smallish place, and busy. Our server, Cathy, was personable and efficient. A lot of interesting specials, but we ended up ordering off the main menu. My BIL ordered chicken florentine soup (he loved it) and veal parm w red potatoes (loved that, too). My big sis and I each had chicken marsala, me w angel hair pasta, the birthday girl w penne. I also ordered a slice of pizza w sausage and peppers. You know the phrase, "love the one you're with"? Well, I sometimes say, "this is my favorite pizza" when I'm in New Haven at any one of the famous trinity pizzerias. Sometimes, i say that in New Paltz at Apizza. I'll say it here at Tiramisu, too. Their pizza is soooooo freakin good. Slightly charred undercarriage, loaded w sliced sausage, a slice is like a meal in itself. No utensils needed! And the basket of two different types of Italian bread / rolls. Nice and hot, crusty on the outside, chewy on the inside. Practically melts in your mouth. The three of us went through two baskets (please don't tell my doctor). Marsala sauce very robust. Food topnotch, service very good, prices reasonable. Tiramisu in Hopewell Junction, New York is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants and bakeries I've ever been to. If I could give it ten stars, I would. The place feels magical, especially with all the Christmas decorations, and you can feel the holiday spirit the moment you walk in. When we arrived on a busy Friday night without a reservation, the receptionist was so kind and welcoming. We told her we drove two hours just to come here and were happy to sit anywhere, and even without a reservation she gave us a great seat and made us feel comfortable and at home. Our waitress was amazing and took the time to explain the specials, and we trusted her suggestions, which turned out to be perfect. We ordered the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and the chicken scarpariello, and both meals came with a salad, and I selected their homemade balsamic vinegar, which was incredible. The "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is the stuffed rigatoni, and it was cheesy, rich, and so comforting, especially with the creamy sauce, and it made me feel happy and full. The chicken scarpariello had a nice kick and was full of flavor, perfect if you enjoy a little spice. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert, so we tried the tiramisu and the exotic bomba, and both were outstanding. The tiramisu was perfectly made, and you could taste every layer of espresso and flavor, while the bomba was light and refreshing, the perfect sweet bite to cleanse the palate. Beyond the food and the beautiful atmosphere, what really stood out were the people. Everyone there, even other guests, was friendly and welcoming. The owner was especially kind and came over to talk with us, asked where we were from, and even gave us a small care package from the bakery after hearing we drove two hours to visit. That gesture meant so much to us. I would gladly make the long trip again because the staff, the owner, and everyone there truly feel like family. I came here to see what others were saying and quickly realized the place has turned into a full-blown shrine to MAGA --ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC AND CLASSLESS. Many restaurants have good food, but will never live up to family standards because their recipes are Americanized. There are so many great reviews about this restaurant. To many people it is great. My last review of Tiramisu was almost six years ago, so I figured it was time for an update. I still frequent the place, whether for dine-in or take-out, but I've noticed a slow decline in the quality of the food over the past few months. Not sure if they've had a change in cooks or staff turnover, but something feels off. For example, I recently ordered Fettuccine Alfredo, and the sauce was completely separated--it was inedible. Another time, I ordered lasagna, but instead of letting me know they'd run out, they just gave me baked ziti with ricotta without saying a word. That kind of thing leaves a bad taste in your mouth--literally and figuratively. The food is still good most of the time and better than most places around here. Ordering on the phone can sometimes be a challenge, especially if you get someone new who's still learning the ropes. Their pastries and cookies are fine--not amazing, but decent enough. To be honest, I'm still going to go here. I like the food most of the time, and let's face it--we don't have too many options in the area. But I do feel like they're getting complacent, and the quality is starting to slip. And about the dining room decor--look, even as a conservative, the Trump posters and flags now hanging on the walls create a tension in the room that's the opposite of what you want to feel while eating. I went to Tiramisu based on a recommendation. I was honestly unimpressed when I found it looking a little non-descript in a non-descript strip mall. The skeleton outside for Halloween was promising. Then I stepped inside. Not only was it amazingly decorated for Halloween, you can tell their normal decor is beautiful. They have a section with a cases for their baked goods, if you're not there for dinner. There are then two rooms for dining, with white lights dancing overhead and Italian images on the wall. It's so unique and again, beautiful. Then the food.... I ordered a cheese pizza (personal sized) and cheese stuffed ravioli with their vodka sauce. Both were fantastic. The pizza was cheesy and had a great sauce to cheese ratio, with the sauce not being overwhelming. The ravioli was well cooked and a good amount of stuffing. The sauce was so good, I made sure to scrape all I could into the to-go box. Even the complimentary bread was delicious - good crust, and the seasoned one had great flavors. Ordered a veal parm dinner to go and it's not the same as if you ate it at the restaurant, the veal was very thin, overcooked and it was a much smaller portion than they served in the restaurant but it was the same price. Stopped here on our way home from upstate NY to Long Island and I'm so glad we did! This was our first time going, but they made us feel so welcome! What an adorable place! You feel like you're sitting outside on a patio in Italy. The decorations are very cozy and patriotic. Love it! The waitress, Nicoletta, was super friendly and efficient. The owner, Artie, personally greeted our family and was SO nice! It made us feel like regulars! The pasta fagioli was delicious... kids had individual pizza and penne alla vodka, which were SO good! Their salad special with veal was yummy. Love their chicken franchise! And we even tried a slice of Sicilian, which was hot and crispy with perfectly melted cheese. So I went there for the very first time on a date and it's your typical casual family style Italian restaurant with a bakery on one end. Food: I got a penne ala vodka with chicken cutlet and it was pretty solid. I wish they gave more sauce since it was a little dry and I tend to like my pastas saucier. The pasta was cooked al dente. My date had the eggplant park and it was very flavorful. We also got the fried calamari which was delicious. The warmed up bread and focaccia they give out first was excellent. The food is a solid 4/5. Nothing to rave about but def worth going to. Portions were decent sized too so I'll be back. Bakery: I don't know why but I wasn't a fan of their desserts.
