I have never written a Yelp review until dining at Pleasant Ridge Pizza tonight. I have two young boys (2 under 2) and dining out is always a concern for the obvious reasons. Tony and the staff at PRP were so accommodating that I honestly felt like I was back at my family's table at a Sunday dinner. The food was delicious, authentic, and large portions which is always important. I never leave with left overs but did so for almost every course. The only lack-of-left-over dish was the fra Diavlo calamari which was honestly the most tender calamari I've had in my 42 years on this planet. Tony came out to introduce himself unprompted and to see if we were enjoying the meal, only to then provide my boys with ice cream treats (a selection of their choice) along with added fun, kind, and genuine conversation about himself and the restaurant. My husband and I weren't in the mood to cook or go out, so we ordered Pleasant Ridge delivery. And what a treat! It was a little expensive but so worth it. The gluten free pizza I had was probably the best I've ever had. It tasted like the real deal. I had to keep checking to make sure I was eating the right one. My husband said his pizza was also delicious. We both ordered salads- they were both fresh and good to eat. We ordered relatively early on a Wednesday so the food got here pretty quick! This evening's dinner here was incredible!! Everyone at the table was raving about their selection. My husband had the eggplant ravioli with the most amazing sauce, I had the chicken deluxe, my friend had the meatballs and ziti. The atmosphere was quiet with lovely music, our service by Ashlyn was outstanding, and we loved meeting and getting to know Zimmer. Highly recommend it!!!! read more

Update: I shared our experience that we had one night and have been verbally harassed by an employee for my review. She continues to send me messages and call me disgusting names for sharing our experience. This truly confirms that this is not a family welcoming establishment. Our original review : Our daughter was still drinking an iced tea which was almost finished when we walked in for dinner. To be clear, I am only talking about the take-out pizza here. I have been coming here for years. It was not the best pizza in the world, but it certainly wasn't the worst. It is just the closest to my house. I don't know if the management or ownership has changed hands recently, but for just pick-up pizza, I will never return here. It was simply awful. My last order was just a simple large pie with sausage and mushrooms. That's it. I live three minutes away. The pizza tasted fine once we were able to eat it, because it was a sloppy, dripping, soggy-wet mess, and totally inedible without a spoon and a roll of paper towels. No crust to speak of, just a sopping-wet doughy layer, soaked through, and we couldn't even pull a slice out of the box without everything sliding off. What an absolute mess. It was really pretty bad. This is not pizza. I don't know what happened to them, but I hope they get back on track. Everybody has cars. read more

I have difficulty gtrying to understand any negative reviews about this place. If you cherish Authentic NY style pizza like i do, including Sicilian, I know of no better. Just like the pizza places I remember growing up in New York City. There is also a huge variety of specialty pizzas to choose from. The penne alla vodka is the best I have ever had. I'm never disappointed when I order from Pleasant Ridge pizza . recently I have enjoyed their grilled chicken Caesar salad, and I have to say that this is my go to so I have eaten this salad in many different places in the area . Great pizza and amazing service!! It's a great place to pop in for a quick slice, but they also have a good dinner selection. They're going to be expanding the dining area - that should give you an idea of how popular this place is. The owner even devised a nitrogen-charge system to keep the huge bottles of house wine at their freshest (check it out, it's right at the bar area). I came in a while ago with an odd question - I wanted to bring some NY pizza to some ex New Yorkers living in VA, and I figured the best way to do it would be to buy some pizza dough. Tony (the owner) would have sold me the dough, but instead he threw a couple of pies in the oven and cooked them so they were a little undercooked, and left them unsliced. They survived beautifully during the ride, and finished off perfectly in the oven. Oh yeah, I had come in right around opening time, and Tony invited me to a cup of coffee. Can't believe you charge for individual sodas no free refills that's insaneOtherwise your food is goodbye

I have been here twice now. Both times I've been disappointed. The first time I ordered the Manicotti and was told it comes with the small salad included in the price. When I went to pay for the food I was told by the gentleman behind the counter that the salad was extra. Seems to me that the older brunette waitress should have known this. The Manicotti was a little cold but not too bad tasting. The salad was ok for what it was. I didn't make a fuss and paid the extra for the salad. I went back about a month later and picked up a chicken cutlet hero to go with mayonnaise on it. I made it a point to tell the guy behind the counter to please put extra mayonnaise on it because I don't like dry sandwiches. I go to eat my sandwich only to discover that it is bone dry with hardly and mayonnaise on it. How can you confuse extra mayonnaise and no mayonnaise? I will not go back to this place. read more

The men who own this place have no sense of customer service. I had been going to this establishment for almost 15 years. From ordering pizza to having full sit down dinners. I ordered a veal dinner with added feta on the salad. They charged me 40.00 for one dinner. When I called they immediately told me to come in for a refund. When I got there they began to badger me about the order stating that was the correct price cause I added feta. Now usually there is an up charge of 2.95 they charged me 11.95 for a Greek salad. I tried to explain it was simply a side salad with added feta. They did refund the money about 10 but the way the gentleman spoke to me and treated me after my loyal customer service was unfortunate and unforgivable. The food is good but there is better elsewhere.... shame on you! read more

Had been here before and great place and staff. Unfortunately went again and was overlooked by staff several times. No one approached table even with menu closed. Waiters avoided by going to table seated after us. Other waitresses looked at us from afar and walked away. Seems larger tables got attention and no service from staff at all. Very disappointed with this visit. Would recommend giving customers attention in such remote area. Would not recommend this pizza place poor service. read more
