Good experience with the quality of the installation and the tires, and they will quote very competitive pricing over the phone if you comparison shopping. A word of advice, however, Nail these guys down on the price , installed, with tax and Road Hazard Waranty (if you want that extra) before you give them your business. Be aware they will not and are not quoting you on the price including tax or their Road Hazard Warranty if they are on the phone with you. In the store they may still mention a warranty, but may not be talking about the Road Hazard Warranty. This may seem obvious to most, but if you like to shop around, like I do, it is nice to know you:re comparing apples to apples. After the the tires are on and you're paying the bill and they're still trying to up sell you on a warranty, something is not right. read more

Good ties and bad service. About a year ago, I bough a set of tires for my car. When the salesman was recommending tires for my car, he mentioned that the tires he recommended had a rebate offer. So, I bought the tires thinking that I was going to save some money. About two weeks afterwards, I received a notice that the set that I bought were not covered under the rebate, When I went back to the store to complain I was told that it was my fault for misunderstanding the salesman, and they had no control over the rebate offers. He was very condescending and rude. Today, I took my car there for a wheel alignment. I had made an appointment, and took off a few hours from work. When I got there, I was told that the guy who does the wheel alignments was on vacation, and that they had called everyone who had an alignment appointment and cancelled them. I said that they had never called me, and both the clerks were once again condescending and rude. I understand making errors: that happens to everyone, but at least take responsibility when you do make an error. read more

We received the worst customer service at this Lafayette location on September 25, we had an 8:00 am appointment which was made on Wednesday September 23rd. The employee my husband spoke to assured the tires would be ordered that day and be there for his 8:00am appointment on Friday. He arrived for said appointment to be told "the tires weren't here yet" no apology at all just that they should be here around 10-11 so 2-3 hours later . My husband works third shift and drove an hour to this location from where we live. My husband seen the truck come and unload tires and had to go back in and ask again if they were ready for him. Finally thru got his truck in a bay. I went in and talked to a manager to ask so this is normal to make an appointment for a customer and not even call them the night before when they notice their tires aren't there? The manager was very rude and could care less, he of course said he wasn't the manager there the day before . He not once apologized! So by 1:00 the tires were finally done and alignment, while waiting and frustrated I found this $20 coupon on yelp for alignment.....of course he says "oh you can't use that coupon because I took one off already" well I'm thinking okay he took one off due to the crapy customer service but still this was a valid coupon and he refused to take it off. One of the guys that works there came out to check out my car, was extremely helpful, told me that my tires were in excellent condition and that i did not need new tires now. Bought tires from them for a great price! 5 months later one of the tires kept getting low in air. I called and told them I wouldn't be able to get there until 30 mins before they were going to close and they still said to come in. They fixed it for free. They told me it was leaking around the rim due to corrosion. They are always friendly to me and always take good care of me when I come in! I definitely recommend them! Make an appointment and expect them not to honor it. Tire Barn will still only take you First come First served. ALWAYS expect to wait a minimum 2.5 to 3 hours. I made an appointment to have a couple of 15" trailer tires replaced, I already had the tires taken off the trailer. Told them who I was, dropped off the tires/rims and they told me it'd be about an hour. OK, I'm easy going and I guess they were backed up and couldn't honor my appointment, so I brushed it off. Came back an hour later and asked if they were ready. The guy behind the counter went and did a quick cursory glance around and said they weren't ready yet. After ANOTHER HOUR and a HALF of waiting, I was getting really steamed. I told the guy, I had an appointment to get the tires put on at 11AM, it was now 1:30, and I asked him to find out why they weren't ready yet! He went back and talked to someone, then went outside the building and came back in. My tires were setting outside the building and had been done for 2 hours! I will never use them again and I've been telling anyone who will listen to avoid Tire Barn like the plague. Yes, I could call them and speak to them but what good would it do? I went there to ask about the noises coming from front of vehicle after doing a thorough inspect they concluded that it was my back set of tires that needed replace after the tires were replaced I still experience the same issue. I pull off to a parking lot and went and did a visual inspection and notice that 5 lug nuts were loose. I was able to tighten them up and Noise went away but not before i spent $330 dollars on an issue that was not the problem. Let me start off by saying this Tire Barn used to be the best place to buy tires. I have bought all my tires through the years from here but the last few years the service has progressively gotten worse. Over a year ago I bought a couple of new tires and I had to bring my vehicle back 5 times just to get them to correctly balance the tires. I live 45 minutes away...5 times! They kept telling me nothing was wrong but yet at 60-70mph the steering wheel shook like crazy, oh they even tried putting the tires on the rear so I would no longer notice it and it worked for a few days until I realized they switched them around and I had them put back...which brought the shaking back. After dealing with the manager they eventually got it right. This last experience was the last straw for me. I went down to have them put two new tires on my car, 2 hours later they got it done which really isn't a big deal except when I looked out into the shop a few times it looked like the garage staff was working in slow motion, paid by the hour? When the guy was pulling my car out of the garage he whips it out and throws it in drive before the car was even fully stopped and sped around to the front to park my car...must have been a good song on the radio too because he even turned it up quite a bit. Not the first time my car was messed with some inside after having work done here. And while I was waiting on my new tires, they screwed up some guys car, he had a lower car with ground effects and when they tried to pull it in on the in floor lift they hit the lift with his car, the garage monkey quickly moved it to a lower jack area and NEVER told the guy, but fortunately for him he decided to inspect it and found the damage. They said they would fix it but one would think working on all types of cars all day long that they could have known this car wasn't going to fit over that lift. Another guy came back in after getting tires and said a valve cap was missing on one of the new tires...how hard is it to put in the valve caps? They didn't even make an attempt to remove the massive stickers off the tread, I know sometimes it is hard to get off but at least try! So after I got home, I decided to go back outside and check the tire pressures after they cooled down, even the pressure were way off from the specs on the door tag, they didn't even match pressures. These guys can't even get the most basic things like pressure and valve caps done correctly. I give up, I will never do business here again ever and I felt others needed to know to avoid this place and go somewhere else! read more

Ever since I came to this area in 1993 to attend Purdue, I have used Tire Barn for my tire needs. That all changed yesterday. I got 2 new tires put on the front end of my car. The next morning one was flat. I went back and they told me i was going to have to wait almost 2 hours. So I went down the road to another shop. They took me out an pointed out the tire was irreparable due to a pin hole in the sidewall. They said it looked more like a defect in the tire. They even printed it out on the job detail. So I had to go back to Tire barn and sit through their long wait just to have THEM tell me it couldn't POSSIBLY be a defect and that "I had trashed the tire". THEN they decided the only thing they would do was to charge me 2X's the road hazard fee and give me a new tire for "free". My tires might be covered by their "road hazard" but I will NEVER be going back to Tire Barn for ANY reason. My experience started off great. The customer service was very friendly and I trusted to be helpful. I woke up to a flat tire and after airing up headed to Lafayette to get fixed. It was a sunday and one of the only places opened so I thought I would see how it was. I was told there was a nail in my tire and they fixed it. I was charged $17.00 and thought wow, what an excellent deal and such a helpful place. However, I barely made it home and it was flat again. On a Saturday, on the way back North I experienced a blow out on my BMW, which takes a very odd size, rare, run flat tire. After receiving the worst of the worst service ever from the BMW dealer down the street, (DeFouw) I was literally rescued by The Tire Barn Warehouse. At first The Tire Barn did not show anything close to the size I needed in stock. (absolutely understandable). The manager proceeded to look for a rental car for me (something the BMW wouldn't do) only to find out that the car rental's close at noon on Saturdays in Lafayette. The Manager then started looking for flights for me and offered to drive me, out of his way, to the airport. And he did so gladly. It didn't get to that as the manager had his crew do an entire search of his stock to find me a tire that would work. Now he could have quoted me any price in the world and I would have gladly paid it; it came out to something like $60. While not an exact fit i never would have known it and the car drove perfectly and got me home safe. If it were up to DeFouw BMW (who wouldn't offer me a loaner even though my car is under warranty, and I offered to pay for it) I would still be stuck in Lafayette. Stopped in with a thumping and pulling frontend. They balanced and rotated, said nothing was wrong. It got worse, replaced tires, no thumping. Another car they refused to mount tires back on car because they were not oem approved for this model. Ok, i have an air impact and did it myself. Counter guy is basically an arrogant douche but if you know what you want, they can handle it competently. Their alignment rack is a hunter 4 wheel and the guy knows his stuff. read more

Beware of the road hazard warranty. They will not replace unless they can't repair. They will tell you that if you have issues they will replace but they will not. When I asked them if they would put a pregnant lady in a vehicle with 4month old new tires that had a repair on the front and let them drive it he said sure would. Liars and underhanded thirds to say one thing then do another. I would not EVER go there again. And by the way if their repair blows out and you crash or ruin a rim they don't pay either. I purchased 2 tires from Tire Barn and also purchased the road hazard insurance. Within 2 months one of the tires got a puncture in the sidewall. They refused to give me a new tire and patched it. I now have two patches and a small cut in the sidewall and Marc refuses to warranty the tire. I have called the corporate office and they said they can patch a tire up to 6 times before they have to warranty the tire. DO NOT go here!!!! read more

I called in after I got home check on price act like I was new customer told them I was interest in the price of tires they just put on. They wander why I was Interested those tire because they were rated high speed said I didn't need them for my sonta. Then I told them they just put them on my sonta. Then they started backing up real quick said if I wanted the tires that goes with the sonta they would charge me labor for changing out tires even that it was there fault! These guys saved my tires, and no joke. I always have Tire Barn tires on my car. I'd been to a local car dealer to have my back struts replaced in May on my Japanese-make car, and the car had sounded "noisier" since then, but it got less bothersome after awhile. I went to Tire Barn for my 5000 miles free rotation, which they did. When I drove the car out of the lot, it was really noisy -- I could hear the back tires "ramping up" in their rotations as I picked up speed. Something was wrong -- I went back to Tire Barn, who re-racked it, did the analysis, and said the dealer had put 15" struts on 16" wheels, and the back right tire was getting a slight groove worn in it because the strut wasn't clearing the tire. Not great for the longevity or safety of the tire, if you follow my drift..... I went back to the dealer, left it there for 10 days; they insisted it was not the struts, and the struts were the right model for the car (wrong,but that's another story). Loni at Tire Barn insisted it was wrong struts (he was totally correct) and gave me an independent, know-what-their-doing repair shop to take the car to. Indeed, it was wrong struts. The repair shop did a great fix job and documented the mistake, and I got my money back from the dealer. Loni knows his tires and tire-mechanics! read more
