I brought my vehicle in for a window repair and paid $596. During service, the driver-side door panel was damaged and the shop acknowledged it would need replacement. A courtesy inspection performed during the visit (which I did not request) noted corrosion on the brake line. Immediately after leaving, my brake system failed and the vehicle became unsafe to drive due to a brake fluid leak. I barely made it home. I contacted the shop from home and was offered another inspection, but was also told I could be charged if they determined it was not their responsibility. Given the damage during service and the safety issue immediately after, I did not feel comfortable returning. I had the vehicle inspected and repaired at another shop at my own expense. I have also contacted corporate regarding this situation. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others before using this location. read more

So just gonna rant. I got a new jeep and ordered tires to have put on. They set up install at car X. I didn't like that idea because Car X reputation. I said what the hell how bad can they mess up a tire install. Well... that was a bad assumption. I Drop the jeep off at 9 AM with the rims. When I went in talked to the manager. He said he one had 1 tech so it may be later in the day but would be sure to call me. I get that and told him that was fine. All day at home trying to not be pushy but it hit 5 o Clock so I called to see how progress was. I was told the the rims I had were 18s and tires I ordered were 17s, which is a lie. I attached photo of the rim stamp. I asked why he didn't called me and thought maybe I did make a mistake on the rim size, if you called me I would have simply said put them on the factory 17s. He said he called the place I ordered tires from. I said that is not what you promised. If you would have called we could have settled it simply. He just wanted to argue telling me that he called the tire place instead. It is clear he does not know how to manage or schedule his own business apparently and can make appointments and commitments that they can not honor. So I am done with them for good and the pr**ck wouldn't even give me my property. I have to wait for new tires to be shipped directly to me and I can go wherever I want to get the tires installed and they will pay for them. As well as having to go through what ever process I need to do when it comes to car X. which may not be much more than blasting them on every platform I can think of. read more

I've been to this location two times for two different issues and both times I received great service. I highly recommend this place and would go back here myself. My first experience was when I was just getting ready to make a 700-mile​ drive and my check engine light came on right after I set out. I was on a strict time schedule and having my car in the shop would have been very inconvenient. I pulled into Car-x, because it was nearby and had them take a look at the issue. They quickly diagnosed the problem and realized that it was just some dust accumulation on some sensors. They cleaned it up right away and didn't even charge me. They also did a quick courtesy check of my engine since I was going for a long drive and recommended that I not get any work done other than my regular servicing. My second experience had to do with a tire pressure sensor light on my car. The charge for replacing the sensors (+ labor) was a little over half the cost of getting it done at the dealership. William, the manager of the store was very willing to discuss options that I had and gave me some good recommendations. They also ran a courtesy check because I will be heading out for a long drive in the upcoming days. I will definitely be back. read more

I had been here a couple years ago with my older car and left irritated with the customer service I experienced with the woman at the counter. I had a much better experience this time. William answered my frantic call this morning as I was in need of a tire repair. I called around 7:35 am and they opened at 7:30 am. He said the schedule was packed until around noon and I was fine with that. He really considered my schedule and didn't want me waiting around, but when I told him I honestly do not mind waiting hours, he told me to come on by as soon as I can. Within 15 min of being there, the mechanic told me that my tire is patchable and that it would be done within 45 minutes. I really appreciate this level of customer service. I'm usually one to book appointments, but sometimes things come up unexpectedly. I'm so glad I gave them another chance! read more

We have kids at Purdue and they had a car issue. They chose Car X (randomly) for repair. Mistake! This (2320 Sagamore) location chose not to replace a bad serpentine belt and pulley (that was worn and too loose) . . . and it subsequently then ruined the new part they installed at a cost of $544 - along with our battery (our mechanic said it was fried due to the alternator/belt issue). There was also another broken part they ignored. Yep, they took the old, damaged stuff off while installing a new alternator . . . and reinstalled it (see photos)! Our mechanic was stunned. The belt was so loose that our mechanic could lift it with his finger! They also broke the alternator wire harness and didn't mention it - or just didn't care enough to mention it being broken. They installed the absolute 'cheapest' alternator available from a public, chain, auto store. We paid Car X over $800 for 2 repairs in days, and our local mechanic another $420 to fix their mess days later. We suspect that they neglected to change out the belt and pulley because we were using one of their own coupons. They quoted us $644 on the alternator job. The coupon was $100 off $650 or less . . . and $200 off $650 or more, pre-tax. Add a belt and pulley with no additional labor (already handling it with alternator change) and it was probably a losing proposition for them. I don't know how else to explain it? P.s. They also charged almost double what our mechanic would charge for a repair on our first visit. read more

This place is fantastic. I have had very bad luck with auto repair recently, and then I came here and they completely turned my week around. I came in an hour before closing to get my belt adjusted and expected to have to come back the next day, but instead they got me in right away. They fixed my problem in five minutes, and let me have it for free since it was so quick. This was a service that Firestone quoted for an hour and a half service and for $50. I am extremely impressed and will be going here for any of my future auto needs. read more

I was very discouraged coming from Pep Boys I thought that I would encounter problems with this place also. Both of the serviceman that I spoke with were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and gave me great advice. I actually trusted them and they gave me an exact quote. The price didn't change one bit and they were 230 dollars cheaper than Pep Boys. My family and our 3 cars will come here for service from now on. read more

After a check engine light came on in my vehicle, I decided to take it to CarX to have it examined. They were able to tell me quickly that it was my engine thermostat and they could have it replaced in an hour for $150. While doing so, they discovered a crack in another piece of my engine. The mechanic showed me the issue (which I very much appreciated) but quoted the project at close to $700. Because it would take multiple hours, I was told to bring my vehicle back on a second day. After chatting about this with my father (in another state), he recommended that I get a second opinion on the issue as $700 sounded extremely high for this issue. After getting a second opinion from a local auto shop, I received the same exact quote (as far as services go) for more than half the price - only $330. While CarX may have decent customer service, their prices are outrageous and I'm afraid of how many other people they're ripping off. Get a second opinion before spending serious money here. read more
