These guys are so cool. Needed to get daughters car into the shop. Her boyfriend called everyone else to get car in but they were weeks out. I told them let me call dan at dave auto. Not only were the able to schedule me for a couple days later, they got to it the next day and fixed problem at a very resonable rate. Ive been using them for almost 20 yrs and theyve never let me down. They continue to do quality affordable work. Dont hesitate, call Daves automotive and you wont be disappointed. Brought in our 2009 Ford Flex before a road trip. Dave's suggested replacing control arms due to worn bushings. I brought it to the local Ford dealer for a second opinion and the dealership said the control arms and bushings were in great shape. Brought it to another mechanic for a third opinion and they also said the control arms were fine. I've read other reviews on Daves and it seems they make a regular practice of recommending work that doesn't need to be done. On another trip i asked Dave's to replace my low beam headlights in my BMW. They called me to tell me no headlights needed to be replaced. I let them know the daytime running lights were fine but the low beams needed to be replaced. The mechanic looked again and said he found one that needed to be replaced. I figured maybe the other light got bumped and started working again. Got the car back and I still had a headlight out but ended up being charged $70 to replace just one of the lights. Brought it do the BMW dealer afterward and had everything replaced fine there I would not recommend Dave's Auto for any work. At best they demonstrate incompetence and at worst they take advantage of their customers to make an extra buck. read more

I have never left a review on Yelp....but after this experience, I am. To be clear, the owner Dave and the front desk woman, were extremely friendly. I brought the car in for an oil leak dx and repair, which appears to have been completed (pending a check of the dyed oil with infrared light in 2 weeks to see if the repairs are holding). As of now, so far so good. The issues started when I went out to my car first thing the next day after picking it up...totally dead (battery, etc.). I called Dave's to see what could be the issue and this is when the fun started. To say Chris (who I spoke with) was condescending, argumentative, dismissive, arrogant, lecturing and generally bothered by who knows what....would be a huge understatement. I could not complete a sentence, offer my thoughts as to what could be the issue or basically say anything other than asking him what his issue was with me and why was he acting this way. Fast forward later in the day....he calls me back and says there are no issues (not sure how this is possible as the car would not start - something is draining the battery - maybe something related to the work they did and not re-assembled completely or ???) and the whole conversational experience starts up again, this time with increased intensity. I stated I did not want to speak with him anymore and can he put someone else on the phone....at which point he hung up. It is interesting to me an employee of the owner is making critical decisions related to customer retention and satisfaction. Chris should be in no way customer facing. The only thing I can think of that would give him the confidence to act this way (without fear of losing his job, etc.) is maybe is part owner or has acheived the rare, but sought after, "tenure" in the automotive repair industry....therefore it does not matter how he treats customers. Lesson to be learned....steer away from this shop unless you are a masochist in need of being humiliated and condescention....if so, this is the place for you. Dave the owner should be aware that as you look down the street where his business is located....you can see at least 2 other automotive repair shops, probably happy for the new business...and maybe, just maybe, happy to speak with customers. Does this matter to them (?)....I can say it certainly does not matter to Chris....maybe Dave if he knew what was going on. read more

Overpriced and Rude. Overcharged my husband on an ignition coil, plugs and upper intake gasket. Spoke to Chris about it and he was very condescending and rude. Strongly suggest going elsewhere. read more

WARNING WARNING WARNING: I just had a tire repaired at Dave's Automotive. Before they began I asked them how much it would cost to repair the tire and they said around $35.00 which I thought was a little high so I told them to go ahead. When it came time to pay the total bill was $81.99. My son got a tire repaired at Brown tire tha had two holes in it and it only cost $20.00. Won't be back. read more

We have been taking our vehicles to Dave's for 7 years. They are reliable, reasonable, and we trust them wholeheartedly. Back in the spring, I took my 2015 Explorer in for an oil change. They noticed a leak and said they would keep an eye on it. I took it to the dealership in July and the dealership couldn't find it. I took it back to Dave's in September and they looked at it for free, telling me exactly where the leak is. The dealership has had my car for over a week and finally found the leak. If I trusted the dealership, who knows the amount of damage that would have been done to the vehicle. I basically had to demand that the dealership fix it. The other thing I like about Dave's is they don't try and sell me anything I don't need and they only fix what is broken. I think they are also very good at prevention and knowing what might end up costing you more down the road. read more

I needed a few gauges put in my dash, (that I furnished) and a light bar (that I furnished) to be mounted on my front bumper. I got a an estimate of between $400-$600. For the work. So, I dropped it off, and a few days later, they said it was ready to be picked up. I asked how much, and he said, "$1,100.00". When your going over the the estimate by 100% you might want to let the customer know why, and if they are willing to pay that. I told them I wouldn't pay for them to sit around thinking about what needed to be done. I was only interested in paying for the actual WORK that was done. They charge $100.00 per hr. here. That is more than Fantom Works charges (on the Learning Channel)(the #1 custom car shop in America) There you go.. read more

I have had opportunity to use Dave's several times in recent years after dealing with another repair shop who started fabricating work that didn't need to be done. I've found Dave's to be an honest, friendly, courteous and fair-priced service provider who stands behind their work. I had my trailer lights redone this spring and discovered that one of the turn/brake signals wasn't working properly when getting ready to take it on a trip. Dave's arranged time to repair when they were extremely busy, fixed the problem quickly and didn't charge for the repair even though I was prepared to pay. I was prepared to pay because I had no proof that the previous work was faulty and they couldn't possibly know that I had only used it once since the initial repair. They are professional in their approach to their business and I won't be taking my vehicles anywhere else. read more

Very experienced/mature techs (no young punks here). I brought in two wheel/tires to have them check the balancing (after another place couldn't seem to get them balanced them). They told me there'd be no charge. Wow...very nice of them. I gave the the tech $10 anyway to buy him some lunch. I've never had any other work done here, but it would probably be my first choice when I do. No late or Sunday hours, but that's ok with me. read more

Other places I've had car repairs the people have been shady and I was positive I was getting ripped off and lied to. That has never been the case at Dave's - the folks at Dave's are great. Dave's was recommended to me by multiple friends about 15 years ago after I got frustrated with a couple other shops in the area and started asking around to find an honest and reliable mechanic. Everyone I've dealt with at Dave's has always been polite, professional, patient, and very good about answering questions in way that normal people can understand (what am I paying for and why). The pricing has always seemed fair and on occasion they've even told me not to fix something because it wasn't worth it especially on a car this age (instead of jumping at the chance to charge me for one more thing, like other shops would). They've always been great to deal with and have done good work for us so we keep going back. read more

DON'T let them take your car for a test drive! If you're a non-smoker you're car will reek of cigarette smoke when you get it back! Awful! It still reeks of smoke 7 hours after getting it back! We had our tires rotated. They forgot to place the locking nut back in our glove box and also didn't return the heavy duty Ziploc it was in! They are overpriced for the services they provide. Been bringing my car here for about 3 years. Mostly for a worthiness check before our annual Florida trip. some resulting in minor issues, one in a suspension repair, which cured the steering pulling problem. I feel I have been treated with knowledgeable and honest recommendations. I've never had a problem on my trips to FL. And I pull a boat which puts an added stress on my car. read more
