First time customer and was satisfied. I actually was assisting a shut in with getting their tire replaced with a nail. They ordered the tire and made the appointment. I brought the car in. The location is just off the intersection of General Booth and Dam Neck. Parking in front of the business is tight. However there is plenty off to the side. The walk up was debris free. Service was great to get the car back quickly. Total wait was 30 minutes. The lobby was clean with chairs and small TV. They also perform oil changes and sell wiper blade replacements. The price though ouch! Almost $300 for a single brand name to match the other factory specs. The transaction was smooth. I would recommend, but also price shop. I recently purchased a used vehicle for my daughter and have experienced some very minor issues that I needed to be looked over before she leaves for college so I immediately called Tire Choice. Mark insisted I drop off the car the very next morning to be serviced so I did just that and got it there around 8:30am. After a couple of hours, they called letting me know of the few issues that he found and some recommendations that would help the car so I agreed to the services and the car was ready for pickup by 4:30pm. I've gotten my car serviced at this location for years and I've built a great rapport with the staff. Mark is the best! He quickly communicates what is needed and the service is normally done within a day. The prices are also very reasonable. I would recommend this Tire Choice to anyone. read more

Brought car in for Virginia state Inspection and to check tires. replace if needed. Was told power steering hose is leaking and emergency brake would need to be adjusted to pass. Tires are good. Received fail Inspection for 23.00 After having car checked out. Oil residue was observed from oil filter above power steering hose from last oil change filter removal. Emergency brake adjustment was correct. Service desk very polite. But technicians need to have more attention to detail. read more

Wife went in to get a state inspection, rather than wait til Monday for our normal place. They tried to tell her the car needed almost $1000 in repairs. I would avoid this place at all costs. Used Tire choice center #717. Very poor customer service. Had an oil change schedule for Monday 9/4/23 at 9am. I arrive at 9am. The manager tells me he has no staff and I need to reschedule. I reschedule for 9/6/23 at 5:30pm. The manager says he still does not have any staff, but he will do the oil change. I ask him if he was giving a discount since on one called me Monday to inform me that I need to reschedule. He says he does not call the customer for that and he was not giving a discount with a piss poor attutide. So you wind up doing the oil change Wednesday your self due to not have any employees. Why didn't you just go ahead and do it Monday when you didn't have any employees. You just lost a long time customer. read more

Ok going dynamic here will update during the experience. In the process of taking my car for a quick check of a tire. 0405 pm: Tried two other places and they were booked solid So zero wait time. Guy meet me and got my info. Seemed pleasant enough. 0406 pm. My car is being seen. Yahoo. Now the big test. Will they treat ok. Fix it or will they try to gouge me. Side note. Waiting area is spartan. But do have a tv (1989 model). But it works and they have magazines. Espn, rolling stone and star magazine....... Where I learned kris Jenner forced kim kardashian to do nude photos. The horror. But I degrees......, Ok not the best waiting room but it works. No coffee or water. 4:38 pm. Found problem. Going with the reasonable fix but will take some time. So the tire place gets five stars so far. Ok maybe four with out a sexy waiting room. 4:51. Still waiting, but reasonable due to the extent of the repair. Back to Star Magazine. Now reading why Angelina Jolie hates someone named Amal who is married to some guy named George Clooney. Quite the mess. Think Angelina is jealous but Amal did steal her fashion sense. Also learned which Hollywood stars got plastic surgery. 5:00 pm. Got briefed and they are working the fix on the tire rims. Also checked the other tires for any problems. Not sure how much Will cost. 0514 pm. Ok car is off the jacks. Wonder how much. This place is at a good location. That's the only way I can think of as to how they stay in business. Whatever you do, don't get your state inspection done here. This is the type of place that will fail you then mark up the repair parts by over five times the actual cost. Also, I'm no mechanic but changing a burned out flood light bulb does not take 4 hours. It's frankly pretty insulting. Get your state inspections done elsewhere. read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about my service. Granted, it was just an oil change, but I called first to see when I could come in and how long it would take. From the time of my phone call, I was in and out within the hour! I know my car needs some long overdue maintence. Mark talked with me about a few things that I should prioritize. HORRIBLE!!!! Do NOT go to these people for ANYTHING!!! Not at all helpful and very rude.... Took our car in for an inspection and it failed. I will say that the gentleman that helped us that day relayed the information in a professional manner. We did all the necessary repairs and took in back. They were obviously not too happy that we didn't use their inflated services to fix the issues. Brought it back and were told that a bolt wasn't tight enough on the repair we did. Instead of turning the wrench 90 degrees as a courtesy they offered to do it for one hour labor.... I will go out of my way NOT to go to this place, and I would recommend everyone else does the same. Treadquarters, aka Theresa in customer service, don't bother responding asking me to call you in regards to this matter. If your store level employees can't do the right thing you have bigger problems!!! This establishment is absolute hot garbage. Don't go here if you have a flat tire and a spare to fix it, but just don't know how to get to the tire. It's not worth it. I popped the tire of my mother's van and didn't realize it until the next day when she came home on foot. She managed to get herself to Tread Quarters and walked back home. Almost every car these days have a spare somewhere, right? Well, ours was in a peculiar place and was apparently hard to get out. I honestly don't believe that. If that was the case, I don't know why the guy working the front desk told us about it if they didn't plan on using it in the first place. Should have just kept us in the dark. When I asked the guy if they could get the tire out, he was so condescending. "Um... No." And he had this "are you stupid" kind of look on his face. You know when people have that weird grin and they wrinkle their forehead? That look. I know it's their job to sell tires, but we had one and didn't need another. But we had to pay around $220 for a new one. BUT WE ALREADY HAD A SPARE. Tell me how this makes sense. I'm sure the manufacturers wouldn't put a spare into a complicated place. They just pulled one over our eyes. We had errands to run and didn't want to be stuck without transportation for the day, so we caved. Never going back there again and definitely not recommending Tread Quarters to anyone. Even if you're on your last leg (or tire) and desperate. There has to be a better way. read more

Was told right front upper balljoint needed to be replaced to pass inspection. When clear as day it was the lower left front. I guess the right upper was easier to make a couple hundred for 30 minutes of work. A rip-off. Never again will I visit this place for anything. The time before that I can her the manager and mechanics yelling and screaming at each other. Very unprofessional. Yet another time when I had my civic they snapped a lug and didn't say anything. I can't forget the best one yet, I went for inspection they said I need new front brake pads. Brake pads were replaced 2 months before. Service guy said who ever is driving must be braking hard. Brought my car in to have my shocks replaced and the same day my husband picked it up my overdrive light and transmission started running funny called and talked to the guy who replaced shocks and he gave us the name of a transmission shop apparently the company uses brought it there and they said they couldn't find any problems just metal shavings on my sensor. Hmmm. He said he cleaned it up and it should be fine. Well today bringing my husband and 5 children to Portsmouth if we were idling it would die constantly as a military member in a military community I would not think this would happen to us. Took my truck in for an inspection. They claimed I needed a new bulb (I already changed them all within the last two weeks) and one of my sway bar end links was broken. I have them the benefiting the doubt, maybe one of the new bulbs somehow burnt out. The sway bar links were OEM so the originals as far as I knew (truck was an 03). $90.00 for everything done. Outrageous in my mind since I could do both jobs in about 15 minutes but I really wanted to pass inspection and not drive back down there for another 3 or 4 hour wait so I told them to go ahead. They totally botched the sway bar link job, putting the bushings and washers in upside down, which caused the bushings to compress over the spacer sleeve. I didn't discover what they had done until I hear a loud clunking coming from the wheel on that side while I was driving. I ended up having to redo the job myself anyway. I wouldn't trust these guys with the simplest of jobs. I won't be back, not even for inspection. I don't believe them about the bulb either. read more

My husband took his truck here to get new brake pads 2/3 weeks ago. While he was waiting, they told him that he also needed new brake lines, and a new master cylinder along with the brake pads. They quoted him a price that we couldn't afford that day, it was over $1000. He chose to get the brake pads that day, since it was a Saturday and we were moving on Monday. This past week my husband took his truck to another mechanic that was recommended by a co-worker to have the other brake work completed. After he inspected the brake lines and master cylinder, and my husband having no additional problems, he found no leaks, cracks and nothing else needing to be repaired. I can't help but feel like Treadquarters was out to get our money, and to find a way around having to honor their free brakes for life policy that my husband was purchasing, but was null without having the work done that day. We had been warned to steer clear of Treadquarters by other people, I'm just glad we didn't give them our money without a second opinion. read more
